The King of Poets -- that is Kannadasan's sobriquet. Though he had little formal
education, he excelled in his knowledge of Tamil and has produced many
literary works apart from writing lyrics for thousands of film songs.
Working hand in glove with MSV he has created many wonderful, everlasting
classics. Many songs of his are admired for their lyrical beauty alone.
