  Mr. K,
  I too prefer IR over RK, albeit I am an ardent fan of both of them. Infact the very first question I wanted to ask RK when I met him in Frankfurt was the reason he didnt choose IR in BABA. Fortunately I didnt ask that and I kept on ruing for the missed chance after that. I wont ask that here after even if I get the golden oppurtunity again.

  More info. on the forthcoming film: 'Pon Meghalai'.
  It narrates the sequence of events happening between 6pm and 6 am.
  
  Looks like yet another small budget film that IR is helping out with. The director says, "Ilayaraaja is the highlight of the film".
  
  Are we seeing another 'Azhagi' in the making?

  Rajini kanth is just an idiot who turned into an opporutnist thanks to tactical advisess from Latha. Without Latha, Rajini would have faded into just another actor. His screenplay for BABA has exposed his IQ!! I know he knows the 'pulse' of an average fan. The definition of an average fan in Tamil nadu is one who claps his hands for scenes that are insult to our intelligence, example ... hero throwing a knife it goes around hits everybody and comes back to hero's hand.
  I wonder what our average fan would do if he gets to watch movies like Memento, Mullholland Drive, Groundhog day, The Others, Pulp fiction, Blood Simple. He won't be able to make head and tail out of the movie. Nothing is thought provoking. The closest attempt i saw in recent times was 12B(Sliding Doors "copy"). Even though it didn't quite capture the attention of audience it is a good effort. On the other hand our Hindi field keep churning out stupid love stories with 6 or 7 songs. I guess some of the malayalam movies are very good even though some of them are copied. They copy very highly appreciated english movies like Dead Poet's society. Plot development, Character development both have to be good alongwith screenplay. Rajini's movie has none of this except character development that too only of Rajini. That too they overdevelop his character. Plot!! Forget about plot in Rajini's movie. Most like there won't be any plot. Most likely "Revenge" is the plot.

  Its IR who refused BABA when Rajini approached. It came in webulagam or something.
  
  May be IR refuses due to VM and political nature of the plot.(Already he has problems with Jayalalitha and you know the dialog for this movie is by Karunanidhi). Apart from this you know IR's self respect and ego.
