Hi,
If people in TN could build a temple for poor kushpoo just for her beauty (I dint say that)why not we build a temple for IR. I have seen so many times in Srikanth's comments that he thinks if he doesnt like IR's music, he expects everyone to be the same. Of course, he is better than Kushpoo in any sense. Even IR said once that he doesnt care if somepeople doesnt like his music. He said to the people, only come to me if u like my kind of music.
thanks,
Nesan.

Krishna,
You couldn't have put it better. I do share the same opinion for most part. People here do take the chance to ridicule others in the name of sarcasm. SPM is really a true sport and I appreciate his attitude a lot.

mr. krishna,
i meant nothing personal against SPM. if u see my posting i have suggested some general tips for everyone writing reviews.
i requote a few lines of my posting
...."let us try to be more critical in our reviews but at the same time being careful not to hurt others sentiments.
i personally feel that words like 'trash', 'crap' etc. should be used minimally in a review and at the same time overpraising (like what Mr.S.P.mahendran does) IR REPEATEDLY like 'god', 'brahma',
'lord of the music world', etc. should be avoided
as it starts sounding really cheap after some time and some times it brings about a feeling of revulsion. being a IR fan i myself cannot bear such mindless fanaticism which is being exhibited in this thread........"
if u see the above lines, i have said LET US TRY. so it means everyone including me.
though i have said overpraising like what SPM does should be avoided , at the same time i have also said that srikanth or me or whoever should not use words like 'trash' , 'crap' etc. to describe albums as it might hurt others sentiments. i might have also done some of these things before. these are just my suggestions. u can ignore them if u want to.
i have not addressed SPM directly nor i have called him names. i have given him a sincere suggestion so that people like u don't 'chuckle'
at his postings and take him for granted in the future. if he keeps on doing this overpraising
then this thread becomes a'pooja' thread as srikanth puts it and no one is going to take his posting seriously.
if i remember right Ravi or someone else had already told about this 'overpraising' to SPM before.
let us all try to be precise, and praise IR or whoever if needed. we should not unnneceessarily praise or criticize someone is my opinion.
well i don't know how long u have been here but i have been in this forum for well more than a year now to know how i should post without hurting others.

S P Mahendran
Pls ignore any comments and go ahead writing/praising IR in your style. You are after all not praising someone who does not deserve. Ignore these "elite" comments.
Vijay
>>it's time for IR's fans to stop living in a fantasy world and come out and realize the truth.<<
What big truth you have in store Vijay? Its IR's fans fantasy world. Even if its truth that IR is a trash, he is still the best for his fans. Period. No preaching required. Period.
>>...time overpraising (like what Mr.S.P.mahendran does) IR REPEATEDLY like 'god', 'brahma',
'lord of the music world', etc. should be avoided as it starts sounding really cheap after some time and some times it brings about a feeling of revulsion.

Vijay, there are super seniors with whom we IR fans have had tiff over the IR issue, in the past.
I am almost two years now in this forum. Humility may not be my forte. Never mind. Let me tell you.
SP Mahe has every right to explain his emotions, feelings, in as much as other folks do here, who are against IR. PERIOD. I have lots of super senior friends who are not JUST IR fans but who eulogise IR to any better level than the Almighty himself, yet, not have fenced in a word on these sites. Reason? Thats their style. Just sit and watch style. The best deal is you just ignore him if you find him to be not of your style. Just as I do some here.
SPMahe, pls maintain your writing style. There is
no way someone can stop you. If it is fanaticism,
monomania, mindless one, so be it. It is your style. There is no soul on earth to stop that. You are not writing filth, garb, etc., and you are fine. You are better than a lot here, to say.
In fact, you have attracted many, than any other everyday fan of IR. Congratulations. Keep it up!!
IR gave me peace, shAnthi, and what not. He is
my GOD. So what? Am I not fit to be treated on par with the so called "elite" "musically" bright "beau monde" surfers of this forum? The only requirement is that I should get
down to the level of others to explain things.
Many may not be successful at that. SPMahendran
is one among them. May be, even I am one among them...So what??
Thank you Krishnaraj. Nesan. Rajesh.
SPMahendran, we are with you. At least, I am. Go ahead. Hit the roof!!
Repeat. We are, after all, not talking about a "nobody". Its IR. Not many get the encomia IR gets, and not one deserves one. Nevertheless.
Its not much ado about nothing. Its much ado about everything. IR is everything. So what??

I think we are having the same istyle. Excellent opinions. We are great people who think alike and have the same 'God'. We are all with one another here. I also feel that no one else on this earth richly deserves the emotional praises and fan following than IR does.

Mr.Krishna,
I wish u were near me to give you a warm hug for posting such excellent comments. Its indeed true that 'certain' people in this forum proclaim that they know everything on music. Maybe true, but let them not impose their greatness on others. To me(or to rather any layman) if I hear a song, it should sooth my mind; if it does then the MD of that movie has suceeded. The same thing happened when I listened to 'dharma'. If people say the song is third rated I feel their taste is also third rated.
SO LETS STOP CRITICISING ABOUT THE SONGS AND LETS LEARN TO PRAISE THEM. IF WE DON'T LIKE THEM LETS KEEP OUR MOUTH SHUT.
I really admire u Mr.SPM for the amount of patience and perseverence u have.

Thats it --- this df has once again become a IR madam ... go and workship no one will stop you or will want to stop anyone.
As someone told here - Music is not a religion....many here is not ready to come out and enjoy the others good musical stuff restricting themselves from something...
just hearing music just for the sake of hearing and for the megere "Vimbu" nothing else,
The songs put here under senthuram, dhrama etc are just crap ....just bcos from IR does not justify to be good. Pathetic music ....
Come back and other things are just for Talk sake, Desiya Geetham- ???? no one has heard about in madras, same happened to ponthotam and sendhuram.
.....It is a real pity to see many "Kinatru Thavalaigal" around.

I just heard Veera Thalaatu, Ponnu Veettukkarran completely for the first time. These two albums are just excellent. MVU is beyond excellence. I agreee about Senthooram, Dharma and Poonthottam, very disappointing efforts from IR. Probably, very deliberate. Must be some traitor directors who came back to him after ditching him. See, in IR's heydays, the time was perfect, there was genuine creativity and art for art's sake. Today, I wonder if IR can go with the present lack of stimulating environment and incompetent film makers around all having money and just want to make a film for the obvious fun of it.
I think IR is being wasted in the current cultural situation. If you switch on the tv these days you can babes in bikinis and have open forums of all kinds of topics in India. Who wants to listen to 'music' anymore. They want just something digital noise and wailing in the background with some nasty lyrics and explicit meanings in the forefront.
I think the days of MSV/IR/SG/KVM/VK are all going to be missed by the new culture and new generation. Dharma is a way of IR telling people here take my Dharma. Poonthottam again IR telling here, take this fragrance less and culture less poonthottam. About Senthooram, IR is telling today's folks, you guys today are not worth any more Senthooram from me.
Veera Thalattu Raja has taken some courage to bring out some excellent folk numbers. PVK also he took some pity, and in MVU he has been kind to Prabhu. That is all I can say about today's scope for IR to make us happy. No one wants to be happy anymore.

the fAN,
did u not like 'meetadha oru veenai' and 'vaanathu thaaragaiyo' from poonthottam. the e album might have been mediocre on the whole but IMO, these songs were definitely not mediocre stuff.

Mr. Tamizhan:
This is exactly what I am talking about..just because you do not consider dharma and sendhooram songs to be good you feel that the people who like it are liking it simply because it is from IR...and call them "Kinatru thavaligal"...from where I am the people who do not appreciate this stuff look like "kinatru thavaligal".
On your statement that people in Madras did not even hear about Dharma, sendhooram or poonthotam, too bad...we are not the losers..neither is IR.
