sariya sonninga SuruliRajan, I dont know why few people are comparing IR with a music director called A R Raguman. This AR Raguman can be compared with Deva,SARajkumar, or even Sangar Ganesh. but why with IR. God(IR) cannot be compared with priest(Deva,ARR,SAR,Aadithiyan,Chandrabose etc)

Well said UV...
Nadeem-Shravan has lifted many tunes from IR and he has the audacity to talk....the powerful pumping music of Rangeela with its intricate rhythms and beats will be appreciated by any music lover just like IR's intricate rhythms and melodies...anyway...this is the age of Consumerism....Music is a form of communication and Minimalism (in this context - less musical instruments) and Ambience (sound effects) rule the day...ARR provides the right mix followed by YSR and KR and now Harris has got touches of it...MSV times were simple...lyrics were more appreciated...IR introduced the Western classical orchestra ensemble...this resulted in rich music and our society was slowly transitioning into a market economy with lots of western influences...so that music was apt for that time...now the ne generation lives in a consumerist society where ARR sets the trend...nothing can be done about it..I can't expect my dad or granddad to take the same amount of interest that I take in the Internet...he is happy with his TV and newspaper...times change...people change...our horizons have broadened...each is great within his time-period and place...there is no absolute greatness

Even today many old-timers say that 60s was the best period with many beautiful and meaningful songs...they can't tolerate IR and ARR...I fully agree with them...but those days technology played a small role in life...words conveyed the meaning....IR could convey the same meaning of the word through his rich music and people appreciated it because they were exposed to a more developed society....the generation today is exposed to more media and genres of music than before...ARR takes the cake here...we just have to accept the good points of all and keep going...that's Life..MSV, IR and ARR all add rich layers of meaning to our lives and we shoould be happy about it..

I still feel that we need the great lyrics of yesteryears mixed with the ambient-techno sounds of today...

your sarcastic statements prove clearly that you are a sadist natured guy. You pose articles as if you are Raja visiri and as if you are Rahman's visiri and keep bashing guys who post about them. What a nature??

cosmician:
you just go through some of his earlier postings. he calls somebody to be sadist, having this within himself. i feel there is nothing wrong in anybody's visiri and being hardcore about it. also, it is logical to argue about + and - of MD's with proper basis. but psuedo-intellect statements such as
"Looks like oflate IR is in great demand with producers and Directors" and following sentence are definitely sarcastic and he looses the right to commet on other people. Tell me what info is derived out of it. People post this way just to test others feelings. You can argue...but you can just make nonsense statements, with a feeling as if you aree sitting in a ruling chair. I am dead against. I am sorry to say this.

I was thinking oflate that only Isaignais?statements were confusing. After reading cosmican and Fiflos in their postings I feel that they TOO need a psychiatric opinion. FACTS ARE ALWAYS FACTS! MSV IS ALL TIME GREAT AND ARR IS CURRENT TIME GREAT.
You want a proof! There is no AIR programme closing without MSVs song be it old tech. or there is no programme AIR or lightmusic programme without ARRs songs. Answer you conscience guys!

Brother Flifo
I have always maintained my integrity,I dont mind correcting myself. I have been posting in TFM more than 2yrs. I have seen good as well as bad posts. Yes I agree sometimes I sound sarcastic but never too crude to hurt others feelings.
And I have also posted some good discussion thread search for the archive and you will find out and not mere bashing people.
I have equal admiration for both IR and ARR.
I always consider IR as my manasika guru.
I admire ARR for breathing fresh air into TFM.
Anyway thanks for complimenting me as stupid.
The problem with these people posting here is they all have a superego their only intention is to put down others thereby proving themselves superior to others their objective is not praise IR using that to boast around once again I am not sarcastic here if you go through the post you will know. I always feel we should appreciate good music regardless of personal likes and dislikes only then one call himself/herself a true admirer of music

asiapacific:
I am tired of these things....Instead of posting these kind of stuffs, you can post something informative. Right? Who's great is a question that can not be measured by one scale. It is all how people perceive. You may think some x or y is great. Some people may think the other way. And anybody has the right to think in their own way. You can give relevant ponts and say "hey, look he has done something marvelous and look, he is a total crap". Instead by arguing "hey, see what I am telling is correct and attempting to make others to believe it is a total bull****". This is more like which god is great this religion or which religion ig great? and so on. Moreover, what benefit one gets by making sadistic statements and hurting others feelings.
"I feel that they TOO need a psychiatric opinion."
A psyche like you is no position to assess others!!

IRukku thatha irunthan, Thaatha varuvan! There will be one more great grandson of cinema who will bring the symphony 'silently' without making noise. MSV the great doyen, did folk, light, hindustani, carnatic, western, symphony, jugalbandhi, quawali - name anything,& you have an answer with MSV in CINEMA over his so called 700 films, "amongst his contemporary masters" like GR, Subburaman, SMS, SVV, KVM, TRP etc.,etc.,. Now this is not similar to the "domination era" of IR, where he blocked all the films without courtesy for others.
Whatever you may say, UV, Cosmican or Flifo - please do not talk like paid servants of IR. It is time for him to retire and think of something else like pranayama, yoga or joining kanchi mutt in a venture which he is 'already' working for. It is Paramacharyas blessing that he was committed with the Srirangam gopuram.
Let him do something worthwhile like that and so some devotional album like Ramana, instead of taking us for a ride with a monotony using the same old voices and Bavatharini as usual, with the same old BGM. We welcome his producing new films with scope for Karthikraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja to prove their talents completely, instead of working dissatisfied in other producer films. (Look at the fate of songs in Vanchinathan -KR and Dheena-YSR). Leave way for the young ones, atleast from your family Mr.IR

Friends
If we can move ahead
Can anyone tell me the Ragam of the song
'Edhilum Ingu' From the movie Bharathy(the one sung in the Kasi scene).
If I am right it sounded like 'Bowli' same as the
all time classic 'Amuthe Thamzihe' from Kovil Pura
Thanks
