I always felt that SPB always faltered as compared to Vani Jayaram or S Janaki in Sankaraparanam. I recently heard these songs by Mano - he did them much better.
So Mano > spb. It is only Mano's humility that he says "SPB is my guru".

The fact I have had to explain the t-in-c remarks has got more to do with the quality of the reader than anything else. Guess, you have started seeing yourself in everybody (muddle-headed). Pretty close to culmination point in spirituality, huh ?
I have heard all the songs you have mentioned and more. The topic of discussion is versatility (which is breadth of coverage) of KJY and SPB and the related. Hence usage of the word 'breadth' is more appropriate than what your perceiving apparatus has suggested. Guess, t-in-cis not the only thing you are not capable of understanding :) Veering away from the core issue exhibits certain qualities that you wouldn't want to flaunt consciously.
Moreoever it is 'pramathavanam vENdum'. STICKLER, you can only improve, can't get worse.

it is 'pramadavanam veendum (or vENdum if you wish to have it that way)' and not, 'pramathavanam vENdum'. i am pointing this out because you seem to be imagining yourself to be some kind of spellcheck program let loose in virtual reality (see all your earlier postings..). it only proves you can get worse.
.
for all i know, the confused state of mind you so proudly exhibit in your incompetent language here (i must say it is improving as you go along, where it cant' get worse), may be just a put on, and you may not be without somewhat normal intelligene in your real life.

STICKLER, cultivate some life beyond classicism in music and you may understand what I am trying to point out. Versatility is the core issue here and you haven't addressed it at all. All you have to do is, stick to Malayalam if you wish, but attempt going back to the mid, late 70s and focus on a composer called Salil Choudhry and let us know your findings. Listening to Baburaj's works may not be a bad idea either. The word 'focus' may not resonate with you but you could always give it a shot, some time in life you would have to.
I agree with you on one thing though, this is a ridiculous topic/thread . It is almost as ridiculous as your musical perceptions and your posts.
Well, as for the topic itself, Mano has a better record as a track singer than SPB because SPB wasn't one. STICKLER, this statement is not for you to understand and respond. Anyway, it was fun arguing with insularity itself :) Goodbye

OH, dAvAndram (@ 202.54.137.100),
.
BUDDY, i now know your psychology......
*****
DO YOU realise that the utter hollowness of your pretensions and claims- your ignorance- is easily revealed in your posts?
*****
your concept of 'genres' is nothing but some sub-genres subsumed in a single genre. you cannot think beyond this genre, because that is the whole universe in your imagination. moreover, i never refused to debate versatality, but rather your NARROW definition of it. nor did i posit 'depth' against 'breadth'. only i hinted that 'depth' always refers to quality; whereas 'breadth' encompasses types which may be good or bad. of course, your mind cannot grasp concepts like this.
*****
you were naive enough to bite the traps set by me to test your knowledge of 'their' music. of the three songs i quoted, two were traps, you fell for one of them. your re-use of "th" in place of "da' revealed your lack of familiarity with 'their' music...(can you get this?). you blithly fell for more traps, even the one set in my previous post.
*****
your claim that you are an expert in such and such (.. i know that and more..)is utter nonsense. a person who claims to be an expert in, say western music/pop will not drop the names of elvis or 'beatles', BECAUSE THESE ARE LEGENDS EVEN THE MOST IGNORANT WOULD HAVE HEARD OF. something like ir/msv or spb/tms in tamil. you brought in salil chaudhary and baburaj. i know you are completely ignorant of their work, except what you probably picked up right now to post here.
*****
your school-boyish attempts at humor are pathetic, which you must avoid if you must express better. the laboured irony, sarcasm (wit?), everything falls flat. you are just not skilled for it.
*****
you have been a good subject for a psychological study. BUDDY, i now know your psychology, and know that you will come back to read this.
.
me? i must be moving along. GOODBYE! ADIEU!

By the way, Suresh Ramanan (@?), you are another addition to the dumbheads/blockheads who are coming and posting rubbish in this forum. Please keep off this place if you cannot have anything decent or relevant to say..

Five Fabulous Moods from SPB.
1."Abishega nerathil ampalai tharisikka.."
2."Neelavana odayil.."
3."Vidiya Vidiya sollitharuven.."
4."Ragangal pathinalu uruvana varalaru.."
5."Van nila nila alla un valibam nila.."
After listening to the above magnificent songs (each in a different mood) by SPB, it is clear SPB is light years ahead of SPB. The comparison is a sacrilege!.

That's really childish. SR, think you hold some kind of copy right on discussing SPB?. Anyway, what made you think I was telling YOU about SPB? This is a forum where people post their views. If you do not like it that way, what prevents you from going away? From the way you post, you must be the dumbest, stupidest idiot visiting this forum. Credo, piss off !!!!! Precisely, I am posting my views here. DO you know what the full form for SPB is ? For discussing SPB, you need class, not crass that you represent. STICKLER and you should rank as the worst low-lives-worse-than-scum-bags ever to log on to internet. Do you know music at all ? I am sure you are one of those music fans like STICKLER who know nothing about ragas and the harmony and rest of the good stuff !!!! Have you or STICKLER heard of the chord disp-c7 ? Come on, tell me what that is all about. Give me one Tamil song based on ragam Swapneswari and sung by SPB. if you cannot hide your face like the coward STICKLER.

Good fun. This is the best thread in this site for anybody interested in the strange and the wierd- infested with dumb idiots (STCIKLER), moronic faggots (Devendram a.k.a. Suresh Ramanan), half baked experts (Harikrishnan and Credo), and a few plain irritated (many). Devendram/Sur R is a problem of deep seated inferiority complex. The faggot's excited gyrations of his lovingly exposed posterior was amply rewarded with the amorous attentions of Credo and the idiot Stickler. Most of it shameful display of erectile disfunction. HK and Credo like true idiots were showing off (jacking off)their limited supply of expertise.
So it goes on.

SRamanan, for all I care, you can take your CHORD DISP-C7, put SWAPNESWARI on top of it, granish it with crushed glass (and some pepper if you wish so, for enhanced pleasure) and shove the whole thing up that part of your anatomy where you seem to enjoy it most.
