  Coming to the topic, is the news that ARR is going to compose a theme music for World-Cup true? If so, just see the hype that it is creating already. This is precisely the reason for his phenomenal growth over the years. I do not recollect any such hype being created for IR when he had done something as great an event like the World-Cup, namely the "Miss World" event in Bangalore.

  Well Srinath, what can I say? The roads taken these days have been travelled by the old-timers before, and many times at that. :-)) There is really nothing new to discuss. And we have had our share of name-calling and arguments. After a while, these arguments does tire one out.
  
  BTW, is Jaring a city in Malaysia
  
  No, Jaring is a ISP (Internet Service Provider). The other one is TMNET.

  Best vindication of padayappa music criticism is in Rediff article of the movie. No mensun of arr at all. What more to argue about arr and his great popularity with juvenile masses but totally absence of praise and support from the real intelligentsia and the straightforward media.

  I think the reason for ARRs flop show by name PADAIYAPPA might have been due to one of these:
  
  1. He has ran out of stuff and is probably not able to cater to the expectations of his fans, audience and people in the film industry.
  
  2. He thinks that he has achieved a lot -- say something like what IR had achieved after toiling for well more than 15 years.
  
  Definitely the second reason cannot be true, as he is not yet accepted widely as a `seasoned' MD. Therefore he is showing signs of going down... Or it could be even the reason that he wanted Rajini to be sucked up very badly because of his known proximity to IR and his averseness to ARR a few years ago.
  
  If only he was shrewd enough to catch the throb for this movie's expectations, I think he would have tried to at least give us an average stuff which we could have digested some how. Now I am not even able to smell PADAIYAPPA, even though I have all the songs in MP3 format.

  Whatever you guys say you cannot deny the fact that padaiyappa cassette are selling like hot cakes throughout Tamilnadu with people standing in queues to lay hands on a single copy of cassette.
  
  In a recent survey conducted by Kumudam among college students throughout Tamilnadu, ARR was selected as the best MD.
