IR's new albums!

  I dont mean, who doesnt like raaja's music have bad taste. But what do you call the people who like cheap imitations of songs like 'sayooni'. And all those junk songs around. People who listen to these crap, must have heard much better songs for sure. But they dont acknowledge it. They just go for whats been playing around and once the plate changes they too change. I swear, there are sure people with inferior taste. They dont know what they realy want.
  
  Do you remember those disgusting opening bars of 80's hindi music? Just irrelavent sounds played before a song!. How can anyone with reasonable taste like it?. If there is bad music! there is bad taste too. They have not learnt to appreciate music. Say, If a kid likes only gory horror movies than Toy story, wont you think the kid has bad taste?.
  
  I said mandhayila adu, in the sense, how much should we care for others in liking a kind of music?. just to answer ahmed.

  Your posting was unbiased except for the second line and the last paragraph.
  
  I can easily replace your last paragraph just by picking one of the many commendable works of ARR and going a little overboard emotionally to say how exceptional his works are which others haven't considered and inspite of bad direction and bad acting (everything else was bad but the music)I immensely enjoyed the music(Thanks to MD).I can polarize it in the opposite direction with a better effect.But that's not my intention.
  
  So what do we do for people who can enjoy music better with more musical knowledge?Tell them what they can do next to gain more knowledge or the factors they haven't considered.
  
  At least I wouldn't brand people as "mandhaiyile adu"(mindless) or have a retarded attitude about them.
  
  Digression,
  Though I would prefer going to a fine restaurant,I like pizza too.

  I read aahmed's post. About IR and Kathalukku Mariyathai. Do you mean that his reasently Sethu wasn't a big hit.
  Ok about the period you talk about, the seven years. It is aproximately from 1993, how many hit movies with good story can you tell me?
  I'll agree that IR are walking away from tamil cinema and i understand. When people are just using you in the start of their career and when they had reached a level then they just pushing you away, then you wan't work with them. How many directors can you tell me that are "big" directors today that haven't used IR in the beginning of their careers.

  But are you saying that you can talk about ARR's and Deva's and SAR's contribution to a MOVIE (not just the songs - the BGM and all) in the same manner as Kiru talks of IR's contribution to Bharathy?

  Why is that when someone says good things about IR you automatically say that he/she is biased. But, when someone (eg. Ahmed) bashes IR, then you defend them with your life as if they are speaking the gospel truth? Can you see the duality in your standards? I can!

  I think I should not have written that last paragraph :-) But this thread was about 'IRs new albums'. So I mentioned the positive things about his contribution to the movie. How come you are bringing in ARR here ? It is not relevant to this thread.
  Yes, the contribution of IR to the movie cannot be underestimated. I will not pull the director down. I think he also did the screenplay. It was done very well overall. But I cannnot get over some poor direction - like baRathy walking in the street and people saying things with the palm of their hands facing skywards (what do you call that ?) Similarly, the dialogue switches between colloquial and chaste tamil. The colloquial tamil is almost too comtemporary. So many things like this. But I appreciate the efforts and motives of the director. I also have seen mugam by him and noticed some directorial bugs like this. This shows he has some rough edges.
  
  Re: restaurant & pizza. Yes, I should have pointed out we prefer certain things certain moments. I listen to POP music but make some time for not so 'light' stuff too.
  
  Re: people with musical knowledge. Dont you think this is relative ? Learning should be a life long process. kaRRathu kaiman alavu. Like my dad says, 'ennaikku oruththan thanukku ellAm theriyumnu ninaikkirAnO annaikke avan muttAlakivittAn'. BTW, I will never brand people..I am of the liberal kind..no discrimination of any kind. Atleast I try to be so.

  I meant Kadhalukku Mariyadhe was the only film of IR which was BIG HIT in both aspects...Film as well as Album...Come on Sethu's music was never any where near chart busters...Once again I RETERIATE my stand ....We never heard the stylish youthful, energetic IR of VETTRI VIZHA or MYDEAR MARTHANDAN after 1993....Thalabathi....1992..was his last complete effort and KM was a SURPRISE package...Now a days his music is just so..so ...like SHANKAR-GANESH or ADHITYAN....

  ARR is one idiot who spoled the taste of tamils. Any body who says ARR has done a marvelous work is not good in analytical thinking. Arr is good sound engineer rather than a Composer. He ahs come just to ear money. He doesn't have any talents at all to experiment with music. He does magic with the electronic instruments. Don't compare ARR with the Maestro. IR is Music.Gone are the times when we used to have films with The soulful music with nativity touch given by IR. the real fact is Even now IR is capable to give fantastic melody songs. But he doesn't have the support of good film technicians and the people with the good taste. probably spoiled by ARR, Deva
  
  Listen to IR songs u will become a person of soft nature. Best way to relax ur mind.
  
  Atlast, Tamil songs have lost the originality that it had before. ARR is a packa copier. I think he is spending most of his time to watch English channels to immitate(Copy in our terms) the music.
