I agree. One of the main BGM pieces in Muthalvan is the beat and tune of Mission Impossible. Appadiye atta copy. He's added an additional tune above the Mission Impossible beat. I wonder why a talented musician like Rahman needs to do this.

Please listen to the BGM bits in www.arrehman.nu and tell me which is a copy of Misiion Impossible.

For your information the background bit in Mission impossible itself was earlier done in Ace Ventura Part one, and which itself was suttufied from an earlier TV seriel in the US.

hi guys, i am new to TFM, well, i don't like people bashing ARR for his low-profile work. He has just not completed even 100 films, but he REPEATS a lot of tunes. He may be technician, but not musician. How dare people are comparing him with IR. ARR is not eligible to stand infront of IR's work. He should learn a lot and speak. I have feeling that "uppu karuvaadu" songs... Mudhalvan is some old tune.... Now TFM is polluted, each song you listen, some poor MD's like Deva, SAR, ARR are repeating and making us to feel like hell. GOD can only save us !!! Pray for Good music from MD's like IR, MSV, KVM....

by the way Shanker is not a kenai to accept what arr does.I am sure he will not permit him to lift, basically this copying statement made by a unnamed person!....is similar to thamirai kani's political statement, just for the sake of saying it.

uppu karuvaadu in Mudhalvan is some old tune -- what is the old tune....be more specific...

Shankar is no stranger to inspirations.

Remember the song 'maayaa machindra' from Indian?

The premise was lifted directly from the video of Michael Jackson's 'Remember the time'. This was a high profile video with people like super model Imman, Basketball star Irvin 'Majic' Johnson, and Eddie Murphy.

Please don't think that this is an attempt to get you to watch that MJ video:-)

the difference between ARR and shankar is ARR sometimes gives quality products, but shankar will have to take five more janmams to even spell kwality, oops, quality correctly :-)).

About your question as to which track of Muthalvan (at www.Arrahman.nu) is a copy of the Mission Impossible BGM. The track in question is track 7. Of course in the portion mentioned at the site, part of the music is already over. But the background is still audible to an extent and reminds me of the mission imposssible piece. The difference is that the mission impossible piece is played on a different sounding instrument (maybe on a keyboard) and this one is played on the strings (probably on a good keyboard). I need to stress that the foreground music is different but the background piece is the same.

In any case, just because the mission impossible piece itself may have been a copy (I admit that I dont know if it is or not), how can that justify some Rahman BGM sounding like the mission Impossible number. Its akin to saying the first guy who copies gets all the blame.

In any case, I am only saying A.R.Rahman is extremely talented and that a talented musician like A.R.Rahman does not need to be 'inspired' this way when he could easily have done something original.

Compare this to the intensely brilliant wailing sound in "Roja" when the terrorist hideout is first shown.

Just an observation, don't mean to start an argument.

balumahendra's tamil movie "RamanAbdulla" is remake of malayalam movie called "Malappuramhaji mahanaya joji" But definitely the songs are not a copy. infact ilayaraja has done better than the mallu version.

RamanAbdulla --- a utter flop - went to some few hours, adke in tha alatal!.....this movie is talked about just for the reason raja did music, else it would be in the gutter long time ago
