Actually he is not the Music Director.

  i agree with karthik s. this is probably the funniest thread going around. people just venting out their vayatherichals on ARR. i thought after a decade of failiure IR fans wud keep quite but then..numbers dont have nmuch sense to them...
  
  from their posting i guess grammer is'nt their key point....but music knowledge seem to be more absent than the grammer...

  what has grammar to do with it. english knowledge doesn't make a person's opinion right. the 'great' arr's fans also commit many grammar mistakes. even arr and ir's english is not good.
  
  i accept that one should not throw mud on anyone. but healthy criticism should be welcomed.

  yes u r right!! it has nothing to do with music. I dont recall anyone saying it had something to do!!!

  mogamul = above average
  siraichalai = BGM excellent, songs average
  bharathi = excellent

  so glad u cud count the hits!!! that really means a lot :-) ... huh! u need good ppl to work with man! to give hits! ARR has good hits. sadly IR has to play it alone....

  In the 2 odd years I have been surfing here, I havent seen a single thread being closed subjectively.. only "totally duplicated" threads have been closed, and the link provided to the relevant original thread.
  
  Please dont trash the good people whose hard work has gone into the making of such a good site/DF/dhooL etc.
  
  On the other hand, maybe this is a good opportunity to explore ideas to regulate TFM DF further. Somebody cud start a thread on this...

  1)Please close this awful thread IMMEDIATELY. IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! We all agree that IR is great -no doubt - but trashing ARR like this is a heinous crime.
  
  2)The person who started this and those who support him must be tone deaf.
  
  3)Maestros like Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Hariprasad Chaursaia, Andrew Lloyd Weber, SPB, Shivkumar Sharma, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan have all worked with ARR and praised his compositions. These people know the 'sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa' of music, and is that the reason that they all like ARR. Definitely so!!!
  
  4)ARRs music is not restricted to the South of India, or for that matter even only India .He has reached tremendous heights and is a universally admired composer.
  
  5)His style of orchestration is RICH and his core tunes are excellent TOO.
  
  6)Have u heard his Lagaan. A person who does not know Hindi or Gujrathi, has given such a beautiful Gujrathi folk based tune - radha kaise na jale.
  
  7)And the person whom u are terming 'the most worst' has won TWO national awards in just 5-6 years. And how many filmfare awards - 15??? And what a rage all his albums have been. Is there even ONE album of his thats not good? No. He is genius. He's one of THE best.
  
  8)EVERY singer who has worked with him, praise him a lot. Are they all MAD????
  
  9)And listen to the interludes in the songs of his Vande Mataram album. He has given a new dimension to TFM and todays rather barren HFM. Also he has become a symbol of national integration off late. Why do u think he won the Padmashri at such a young age?
  
  
  10)and all those fools who are calling ARR a music EDITOR or XEROX MACHINE, u are all stupid and have a pathetic music sense. ARRs core tunes besides the orchestration etc are all HEAVENLY. see Roja.
  
  so stop this thread and even DELETE it. We are not here to hurt anyone,mahibalan, and definitely not throw mud on such a brilliant man.
