  Hi,
  
  IR says that he shows equal enthusiasm in every song he composes and when he feels that songs has come good for the situation he takes up the next. If he is not satisfied, he puts more effort. So effort definitely will vary. But the enthusiasm remains the same for all the song - be it for "Guru" or for "Kaadhal Kavithai". That is what he meant and I feel his point is perfectly valid and any reasonable person in his position would have given that answer only. He says that he took a lot of time for certain songs and they were not mega hits like "Chinnathambi" songs, for which he took very less time.
  
  The reporter didn't ask any question about his new musical ventures and rather he was asking some questions about life. One question he asked was "What do you want to say to the people?". IR, humbly answered, "Who am I to advice people? I am a very ordinary person". Inspite of being a musical genius, this man tries to be modest while sila per musicla onnumae achieve pannaama "Naan dhaan Indialayae sirandha MD" appadinnum "India makkalidayae music taste kuranjukkittae varudhu. musica kaappaathavendiyadhu en poruppu. Indialayae naan mattum dhaan MD" ippadi ellam pesittu irukkaanga.
  
  Some questions were regarding belief in God. IR answered well when the reporter asked "silar kadavul illa appadinnu solraanga. Uyirulla manushana nambunga; Uyirillaadha kalla kumbudaadheenga appadinnu solraanga. Veru silar kadavul undunnu solraanga. Idha pathi unga karuthu enna?". IR answered, "Kadavul irukkaarnu solravan andha nambikkaila urudhia irukkan. Kadavul illaadhavan andha nambikkaila urudhia irukkan. Indha nambikkaia dhan naan Kadavul appadinnu solraen. Uyirulla manushan azhinjiduraan. Uyirillaadha kal azhivadhillai. Madurai Meenakshi Amman Koil evvalavu Rajakkala paathirukku. Ethana kodi makkala paathirukku. Rajakkal azhinjittanga. Aanal andha Koil innum appadiyae irukku. Ennai poruthavaraikkum edhu azhigiradho adhu uyirillaadhadhu. Edhu azhiyaradhu illayo adhu uyirulladhu". Man, IR has become a complete Gnani. Avar Isai gnani aagi romba varusham aagivittadhu. Aanal, avar matha vishayangalilum gnani maadhiri pesa aarambichuttar. Edhu eppadiyo, as long as he gives more and more music and doesn't quit, it is good for us.

  Me Too Vijay !! He can always justify saying that movies like karagaatakaaran etc.. were big hits., but Still I feel one of the reasons his music is not getting the desrved exposure these days is cos of these filthy movies.. He shd put a stop to this.??

  'Ponnuveetukaran' is reviewed in Hindu. The comment on music as follows.

  *The* primary reason for IR's (so called) downfall is the atrocious lyrical content of his songs. Now, dont jump at me and ask me if the other MD's produced songs with better lyrics. On any given day, the lyrical quality for ARR/Vidyasagar etc. was better than that of recent IR lyrics. Even a Vaali was able to produce good lyrics for ARR's Uzhavan.
  
  Even if some of the lyrics in ARR songs were crappy in terms of content, the lay listener fathomed them as high class. And I dont blame them. I recently saw "Sakkarai Thevan", and my god .... the lyrics were simply awful.

  Does'nt IR know the language enough to insist that the lyricist come up with something better than this? I challenge you guys to come up with ONE IR song from '95 - '98 with outstanding lyrics. Cliched, cheap and mostly meaningless words ... to me most of the words sounded like they were there simply as place holders.
  
  Kadhalakku mariyadhai had decent lyrics, and I was happy --- But my happiness was short lived. Even a high budget album like Kathal Kavithai; or an album with a lot of scope for lyrical excellence like Desiya Geetham; had lyrics that could be called mediocre at best. I am rabidly anti HFM, yet I thought Rasayya songs sounded slightly better in Hindi, mainly because I could not follow the lyrics.

  Now tell me what that means? Or what does
  
  "Mamma popooo Ezed A" mean?
  
  If his songs these days are becoming big hits again, it means they are hits inspite of the lyrics. Now just imagine what would happen if the lyrics contributed to the songs beihg a hit .....
  
  Hmm... But then, I always dream a lot.

  someone has saying that konji pesu kannamma has been unfortunately used as the title song in kaadhal kavithai. well, i was seeing the short realvideo clip of this song in mailbag.com and i thought perhaps it was good that this song was used as the title song. IR has sung title songs for mundhaanai mudichu , sakalakalavallavan etc. and most of them have been good. this is also, no doubt a very good song and also the fact is that IR's voice would not have suited prashanth very well if the song had been picturised.
