:-)
fyi.. MJ has more 120,000 Fan club members. Try buying the latest MJ fan card u will know :-)
His madison garden had about 40,000 attendees i suppose.
at any given time 5-10 mil. will buy his CD's. but the point is the neutral folks r the biggest chunk they are the hardest to convince especially with Nsunc and Britney thing goin on...
Karthik S
saw the lates Mj video.(premier at 4:00 clk so 1/4 day leave potten :) ) Its link a smooth criminal video clone. what ever C.tucker speaks is made up of old MJ songs. thats the way his sentences r written. M.Brando and the rest speak only in god father lingo... Mj dances much slower than usual.(he normally doesnt dance much in a freq. aired Music video). Sound effects r just awesome. The video is not a huge MJ magic things but i like the song very much annd video is allright!

uhh...read last weeks Time for the dope. Concert was mostly a collection of his sidekicks and other washed up artists

doubt,
the concert was attended by marlon brando, Nsync, britney spears, boys II men, Alien Ant Farm etc... ofcourse the jackson 5 and liz taylor were there... there were quite a lot of other artists(the new folks whose names i'm not familiar with)...
britney spears was the chic for "the way u make me feel" she wasnt supposed to attend but hey!...
MJ performed actually for less time. the crowd infact begged and booed of the others until he came in... nsync included. (as per the fan club bulletin..:) )
anyway hav to read the Time I was actually waitind for its review of the concert... they should trashed the show with the usual jibes and sarcasm.... eh!?

I know there are many ARR upcoming releases.
But i think Alli Arjuna and Paarthale paravasam
will come out first.
As for Manja Kudai,It is stated for Deevali release.
Udaya as u know was delayed about 2 years.
But i guess the songs must be superb.ARR completed the songs earlier. But now the problem is the movie is not completed.....
In Udaya, there are five songs, 4 of them lyrics by vairamuthu.
The misunderstanding start between them when ARR decide to put new lyrict for the one song.
Yeleo is yet to start the shooting. But the theme song is out.U can check it on Raaga.com or rahmanonline.com
Kadhal Virus is also expected Deevali release.Dir.kadhir said ARR have given extradionary tunes.I certainly hope his magic continue as his Kadhal Desam and Kadhalar Dinam was a great hit.
And for new launched movie Asoka,we have to wait longer as it was just launched.
Till Next Time...

The best thing to have happened to ARR is Bombay Dreams. I am not sure how many of us realise the kind of publicity and reach ARR is going to get with this!! Hope he makes good use of this opportunity.

Speed, Speed and more Speed!
The majority of the questions posed to us for our Tenali Questions and Answers programme are either about A.R.Rahman or about the films for which he is scoring the music.
The reason is simple and straight. A.R.Rahman no doubt has become a cult figure in Tamil Nadu. He stands like a tower of triumph and finds himself in the midst of great popularity. It was not long ago that he brought laurels to our state after conducting a grand musical extravaganza on the stage in that great city. Recently he had worked in unison with the inimicable legend of songs and dances, Michael Jackson of world fame. He had doen all of us proud. Quintessentially, it is he who decides the destiny of many a Tamil movie. Hence the aura around him. Beyond all doubts he is one of the most sought-after personalities of Tamil film industry.
Knowledgeable circles inform that K.Balachander's hundredth film, 'Paarththale Paravasam' is due for release on the oncoming Deepavali Day. But there is no sympton of our viewing the film on the appointed day for it suffers a long haul for a conspicuously long time. And A.R.Rahman is the cause for the long delay in the progress of that picture. Yet no accusing finger can be pointed towards him as he had made it clear well in advance: "I will take my own time to finish with the songs of the film". Hence the production unit continue to be patient duly crossing their fingers and wondering about the actual time when the long-awaited songs would be ready for use. When would their penance for the songs come to an end?
The movie, 'Alli Arjuna', being directed by Charan was launched soon after the release of 'Amarkkalam'. But the movie is staggering and tottering ever since practically making no progress at all. The producers are unable to announce the date of release at all. Once again, A.R.Rahman comes into the picture. It is said that he could not provide the songs within the accepted target date. The musician, who is a known perfectionist, continues again and again, to refine his products. The production office of Bharathiraja is not to be carried away by the numerous, enviable achievements and accomplishments of the maestro. "The master musician must realise the consequences such as the mammoth financial losses caused to the film-makers because of his extraordinary delay in keeping up his schedules," they complain. It is but natural to do so on the part of Bharathiraja's production company. After all, it is Bharathiraja who is on the losing end, being the producer of 'Alli Arjuna'.
But the person who suffers the most is Parthiban. For the first time, Parthiban has knocked on the doors of A.R.Rahman, in as much as he wanted to have a unique type of folk music with a touch of western fusion style for his forthcoming film, 'Elelo'. The pooja for the picture was promptly conducted on the last Tamil New Year's Day. But no song related to the film was recorded on the Pooja day in keeping with the existing custom of the industry.
The shootings for 'Elelo' are not on for want of no song to start with. Parthiban's 'Elelo' is not followed by the 'Ilesa' of A.R.Rahman. Because of the implicit support of the musical director the screenplay of 'Elelo' still remains inside the grey and white cells of the brains of Parthiban.
Similar fate has ravaged 'Udhaya' also. It is one-and-a-half year since the commencement of the film. The director of 'Udhaya', in the mean time, had concentrated on the making of 'Dum Dum Dum', successful film for Manirathnam. After fulfilling his task for Manirathnam, he has now taken up 'Udhaya'.
"Why did you leave 'Udhaya' in the half way and go to do another film?"
The director parries this question reasonably. "Udhaya was my brainchild. I had laboured a lot over that film. I could not brook the sufferings undergone by my beloved movie because of the lack of the timely cooperation from A.R.Rahman. I had to opt for 'Dum Dum Dum' as I was against remaining idle"
"Why should A.R.Rahman face so many complaints from all sides? Why should he cause such inordinate delays especially when he is having just a handful of films to his credit?"
The personalities of Tamil filmdom had this answer to offer:
"A.R.Rehman may not set apart much of his time for Tamil movies. Working for Tamil films may not have any earthly use of him anymore. Presently, he is widely known all over the country. As he sits pretty on the apex of glory, he will, hereafter, aportion very little time for Tamil. Hindi film opportunities and the international projects lure him no end. Only those chances can take him higher up the further taller pinnacles, when he is bent upon scaling greater heights, it would be wrong on our part to expect him to remain within the fold of Tamil films. It is enough he has served the Tamil films industry for eight long years. Now that he has grown very tall Tamil filmdom tantamounts to a piece of pickle for him. In the years ahead, he would be accepting just the films to be made by the mega directors like Manirathnam, Shankar and Kadhir. He has already set his eyes on the international market. He is not at all bothered about shining anymore in the Tamil film music world. Probably he has hitched his wagon on the stars.'
Truth to tell, he has definitely set his eyes on greater targets. In the light of the above state of affairs a big question stands before us. Are we to feel proud and get elated at the news that our own A.R.Rahman is going to rub shoulders with the greats of the sophisticated western world? Or, are we to share the sorrow felt by the saddening film makers who are left in the lurch and stopped from achieving their goal of bringing out good films on the dot. When all is said and done production of films is the life-blood of our creative directors and film-makers. Our sympathy is divided between the musical director and the film-makers.
