  Incidentally,i read a message in raajangahm about kungumam review which mentions the possibility of another award to our raaja-I had mentioned this about a month back in one of the threads where i was wondering whether he is in line for his next award.glad that the world outside also thinks the same.

  Delighted to see how u love/respect the Maestro.
  I was watching Nayagan day for the nth time yesterday --- just for IR's BGM. The BGM he gives when Kamal goes to meet Saranya is ultimate. Also the BGM he gives when his daughter drives the car very fast --no words to describe the happiness one gets while seeing such master piece music by IR.

  I am writing this after reading kumudam article,consider the folowing factors:
  Raaja was an unknown underdog from a hamlet,composing for a smalltime producer,whereas arr had all the blessings of bigshots who promoted him out of singlehanded obsession to hound out raaja.
  there were no powerful promotion as well as orchestrated hype about ir's music in those lovely early days when south india woke up to his music.
  he was composing for almost 50 movies a year for all the top heroes in south-his speed was matchless and so was the quality of his music.Arr is so slow to compose -apparently ,sometimes he takes two weeks to compose a single song-to what end when the end product sounds like something you have already heard before?this slowness itself has now become a plus point for arr apparently-ellam kalikalam.
  BGM-less said about arr's bgm,the better-I have just finished watching alaipaayuthe.I think Manirathnam has been taken for a royal ride.I think,the entire duration of something that could be called as BGM in 150 minute movie is probaly 15 minutes.rest is all the songs played repeatedly as bgm.just listen to Idhayathai thirudathe bgm-and you will realise the difference.
  At height of his creativity,IR experimented with everything-carnatic to wcm.when you compare this in context with his phenomenal output ARR pales into insignificance.
  The main point i want to stress is comparision should be made when the persons compared were at their peak.Raajas cretivity has still not waned.I am listening to Barathy songs as I am typing this-I really feel as though Barathy and IR must have sat together for composing sessions and mahakavi must have written lyrics for raaja's tunes-It is so seamless and effortless.will you be able to say the same about ARR's music in 25 year's time-even now his music seems so tired and jaded?

  In 'Kelada', One female voice comes ('PeNNukku Njanaththai vaiththaan puvi peNi vaLarththidum Eeesan'). Sounds like Sujatha, But nothing is specified in credits list.,

  btw, cud somebody tell me the ragam of "Ninnai Charan Adaindhaen" - sounds like the same ragam of the song "Rojaavaiththaalaattum Thendral" from Ninaivellaam Nithya.. And I can sort of sense strains of "Do Anything" in How to Name It...

  1. Bharathy - In the 'mayil pOla' song anupallavi, there is a line; 'manasu pOna idam theriyala - antha mayakkam enakku innum thelhiyala' . That is my view point too.
  It is a great opportunity for the 'Shakalakababy Nadu' to return back to original 'Tamil Nadu'. Will TFM fans act wise ?
  
  2. Ilayavan - After listening to Bharathy, the entirely different style of compositions show the range of IR. All the three duets are good - especially the rhythm in SPB/Swarna duet is simply amazing. SPB's solo song is also good.
  
  It seems to me that IR has arranged all the preludes/interludes to ridicule the current trend of plastic rhythm/sounds. May be he was cursing himself when he had a beautiful scope for Bharathi in hand. Still in these settings too, he could not prevent his greatness getting exposed.

  Check out the kalki issue two good articles on the movie Bharathy. Now more and more good review about bharathy is coming out good for IR,TN and TFM but will the 'Pandi Nattu' makkal will enjoy,will those 'Visilattichan Kungjal' who enjoy Shakala baby will listen to Bharathy
  I doubts so but still such brave effort under this synthetic,false culture, hats off to pentafour for their effort.
  It will be a shame for TFM if such movies and music are not encouraged,
  dunno why our tamil makkal ippadi oru anniya mogathil thilakarargul endru,
  they welcome copy and unimaginative music but dont listen to good original stuff

  The producer should have given some hot bucks to
  advertise this movie in SUN TV, then it would have
  been at number one position. Forget about top 10 songs, in top 10 movies Barathi came at 7th place.
