  Theva dude ..ask some older people in the house for an album called 'alaigaL Oyvathillai'. Listen to ambient music done with electric guitars (puththam pudhu, kAdhal Oviyam). Checkout mridhangam/tabla Ayiram thAmarai mottukkalE pallavi. You will hear enough of those 'golusu sounds' now very popular :-)so that you dont lose your attention.

  I have close to 100 mp3z of IR's work, all old songs. I like Muthal Murai, I believe. If anyone's got the mp3. Lemme know.
  
  After a long time, nice to listen to 'em. But I fall asleep quite fast. Especially with bharathy. That's the only problem. Not music I can listen to when I'm driving.

  Thanks that you agreed that you sleep when you hear IR Songs. That speaks the greatness of IR Songs. IR's music makes you feel happy. I hate music meaning less so called music which shocks my nerves, and irritates my ears.

  Hehehe ... no .. u c.. IR's makes me fall asleep mostly bcoz its sad, or boring. Some r very nice, and I love listenin' to 'em. Like, chinnachiru ...guruvayoorappa...poonkathu .. sundari neeyum ...dalapathi songs ...etc... i hope these r mostly IR's.
  
  ARR's fast songs r not the only ones i like .. my fav. songz of ARR r ... Yeh Jo zindagi from earth, Ennavale Adi ennavale, all from ROja, enna vizhai alagey ... and so on.
  
  I love to dance. In my childhood, I loved to dance, but no tamil song was able to give fast beatz. SO never listened to it much. Then ARR entered the scene, w/ chikku bukku raiylu ..then humma,, and then kadhalan.!! Then the party started. I talked to this one guy in germany. He's german. He got into indian music because of ARR. He buys tamil DVDz ..and Hindi DVDz ... bcoz of the songs. And stuff like that. ARR's music doesn't just touch indian music .. but crosses over ...to other ppl. IR's I haven't seen do dat.
  
  It seemz in tfmpage, ppl disect a song in pieces and analyze it under a microscope, then say whether its good or not. I have absolutely no musical knowledge. I just can say wat soundz good and wat doesn't to me. Its up to the others to agree w/ me or disagree w/ me.

  ARR's music goes beyond India because it comes from there. Do you feel sleepy when you listen to 'Yeh Jo zindagi', 'Ennavale Adi ennavale', 'ROja', 'enna vizhai alagey'? Sure you don't have 'Sleeping sickness'? NOM

  I don't get sleepy listenin' to those songs. I can clear and relax my mind. I have lots of stress. And music is the only way for me to relax. Those songs help me a lot.
  
  Your telling me that, tamil music should be like it was in the 80's?? That would stink. It was OK then maybe .. but its very boring. I'm pretty sure that more people have come into indian music bcoz .. of arr's music. Anyways ... this thread is goin' waay off thread ... as do most of the others.   Theva..you have stress at this young age. ? what your home work ? Any trouble with integral calculus ? :-) Come on.. man..Dance music. Do you know that Kamal is well-known for his dancing ? Who tuned all his dance songs ? Maybe you were in the crib those times ? Not everybody in US/Canada listen to POP music. Give IR music to somebody who is into Jazz/Western classical music. Then see the reaction..dont give it to club-hoppers and party animals.

  I have seen your reference to ARR as a sound engineer and not a composer. Please suggest me if producing a song is just sound engineering alone, then all the sound engineers would have left their jobs and become MDs. Can you tell me why thats not happening.
  
  I am not saying ARR is a better composer than IR or anything of that nature. But ARR is not only a good sound engineer but also a composer who has composed many songs based on carnatic music.
  Though he lacks the depth or IR, MSV and KVM, he is still a composer and not a Sound Engineer as branded by you and many other TFM folks here.

  Watz up Kiru? Well, no, if it were just integral calculus and stuff like that. I wouldn't mind it. But life itself. Seemz I got some stress. Engai irundhu varudhu?? I don't know. Sometimes I just feel like committing suicide. Then after a while, I feel OK.
  
  I know that Kamal is well known for his dancing. But more bharathanatyam. Since he has learned that. Please, don't tell me that Kamal can dance better than Rajasundram or Prabudeva. That he is definitely not!! I know who tuned Kamal's songs. They were good ones. Don't get me wrong here, I do like IR's music. But lately, not always the greatest. I liked Rasiah's Mastana Mastana.
  
  No, I know that not everyone listens to Dance and Pop in Canada or the US. But what I am saying is, the majority probably does.
  
  I haven't yet gone clubbin'. So, I'm not a club hopper. Party animal, I'm not either. Although I do love parties.
  
  Kamal can't keep up with the songs made nowadays. Did you see Kamal and Prabudeva dance in Kadhala Kadhala? PB I'm sure did a lot better.
  
  Also, I got another question. Why is it that every single thread bashes ARR?? I mean, you start out with a thread that says one thing, that YSR thread for example. Talk about YSR's music and stuff like that. Talk about raaga's and so on. Even compare songs. But, when you say, ARR is crap, YSR is definitely going to beat him and stuff like that. That's where I jump in. Why do you have to compare ARR to everyone? You say he's not that great, yet everyone compares other MD's to him. What's up with that?

  As far as BGM, its worse--everyone uses some form of english music.
  
  ex. IR in agni natchatiram used bgm from beverly hills cop film.
