Vaali is As good As Kannadasan..

TFM has not given That much Respect AS given to Kannadasan

  Vaali is one of my favourites for his variety. Be it 'Madhuraiyil parandha meen kodiyai..' or 'AvaLukkum thamizh endru per..' which describe a girl's beauty or 'Amma endru azhaikkadha..' , 'Ammamma unai pole oru deivam.., 'Naanaaga naan illai thaayee' which talk about 'Thaai paasam' or romantic duets like 'Endhan nenjil neengatha..', 'Thoongatha vizhigal rendu..', 'Kannan oru kai kuzhandhai', 'Chandrodhayam oru pennanodho..' he is very good
  
  He has changed his writing style with time. I bet KD would have done the same too if he had be alive and writing for ARR

  And in Film Industry.. Easily a PErson Can Vanish..
  But Vaali is the One who has been in Cinema For 50
  yrs which itself is a great AChievement..
  
  Kannadasan Too Wrote many Songs of that sort which was requirement(palinginaal oru maaligai)
  
  
  So I feel Vaali is no where Less than Kannadasan

  A great poet introduced by TR Papa in the song Sirkkindral indru sirikkindral in MGR starrer Nallavan vazhvan. I think the song was sung by Sirkazhi and susheela. He built up with MS Viswanathan Ramamurthy, KV Mahadevan etc and is now on the trend with Thanglish songs like Mukkaala. His tamil works are legendery. His tfm works are cheap and worst ( many like Samanjadu eppadi).

  probably bad timing of his career

  This might be a rumor.
  Valli belongs to a community which the rulers of TN are opposed to. And the other guy is quite friendly with the rulers. So, this might be the reason.
  Hey.. I don't say this . People generally talk like this.
  Any way if you ask me VM is second to none and valli has got his own style.
  Both are bearable as long as they do service to the language and FM.

  Comeon Common friend. Vaali has been honoured by Kalaignar in a public forum and also in a Govt. function. He is close to Moopanar and Kalaignar, who respect him beyond castes. TN is not what you think it was. Now things have changed and try getting a list of advisors to CM and you will know!
  It doesnt mean that only when VM is disrespected Vaali is honoured. Both are talented in the cinema tamil and its business usage in tfm.

  Vaali is a noteable lyricists in writing lyrics of category "combination of two types of emotions". Take the song kaNNan oru kai kuzhandhai kaNgaL sollum poonkavidhai. It is indeed a duet song but see the lyrics, we get a devotional feeling also, side by side with the duet. This song, i feel, is different from the song vaan polae vaNNam kondu OF salangai oli(VM?), because in the former's case (kaNNan oru) the need was a duet but vaali infused the devotional feel to it. Whereas in the later case the duet feel is more infused by the picturization (or picturization need).
