  A small digression:
  I recently found en swasa kattre cd, with nilave va combintaion (if that is not enough), it comes with a bonus cd with ARR hits for the price of one CD. What a deal, I m surprised, either it is a new
  promotion technique by pyramid or to boost the
  declining sales of en swase katre, what ever it may be, I was one hell of happy customer walking away with the cd.

  Listened to "Padayappa" songs and felt very disappointed. Padayappa paadalgaLai kettadhukku appuram Arunachalthukku koil katti kumbuda thonudhu. It is high time Rajni goes back to IR. And as a ARR fan, I sincerely wish ARR does not come up with such albums again. BTW, I find some sort of resemblance between "vetri kodi" song and "aayirathil naan oruvan" ('Iruvar') song. Altogether, the song sucks.

  Hi,
  I feel personally Padayappa is above all the crap that Deva composed for Rajni.It may not be a s good as a Thalapathy/Veera but IMO it is OK>I think one will be in a best position to comment after listening to the cassette/cd repeatedly since arr's albums grow on you.For example I could not get the tune of Chaiyya Chaiyya on first hearing it.Only afetr 4-5 listenings, I was able to grasp the tune of Chaiyyan..

  to all the ARR and RAJINI's fans ..dont be dissapptd with padaiyappa . The music is not the typical of ARR and you need to listen to it repeatedly.and i'm sure this album is better than muthu. i still remember that i dissaptd with bombay , minsara kanavu, and uyire after the first listening, but later turn out to be a mega hit
  and i believe MInsara Poovea,beautifully rendered by Nithya Shree ,Shree ram and Shreenivas will be the best out of the rest.and for the ARR bashers ,they cant come out with the words recyle ,reuse and repeating here.
  why ARR is not using HH anymore , is there is any conflict between them? but i'm happy that he is using SPB regularly .

  Hi,
  Got my hands on a Padayappa cassette.The best song of the album is Minsaara Kanna by Shreenivas,Nithyasree and Sriram.I don't know why the songs seem to go out of pitch suddenly.My god Harini's rendering of her song is rotten to the core,as is Mano's .The clear winner in the album is not ARR, not Vairamuthu but the evergreen SPB

  honestly,Neither i knew hrishi is a lot younger than me nor did i put him down for his taste of music.
  
  All i said was Muthu was NOT an above average album and only a guy who listens to "sElayila veedu kattava " and such songs can say it's a good/average album .
  
  u being a carnatic literate (or music in general), tell me one song in muthu which was worth raving about. Don't talk about the popularity of the songs. The "something" which caught the attention of masses is ,FYI, Rajnikant.
  
  Though I'm a basher of the rahman of muthu ,jeans , pufhiya mannargaL DSKR dilse etc ,i'm an admirer of the rahman of thiruda^2 , roja pudhiya mugam and iruvar.So don't write me off saying i'm a rahman basher and that i hate rehman etc.
  
  So, these days any lousy work of rahman is being labelled as products of sabesh-murali, is it?!!!
  
  None of us have heard of/listened to any independent work of sabesh-murali but these "objective" posters write them (the lousy songs of arr) off so easily saying it MUST be the work of them!!!!
  
  If u r so "objective" how can u simply put the blame on those 2 guys without having listened to their work even once( whereas I've listened to all works of arr except fire )!!!
  
  Now , who's biased ????Who has hatred towards an MD(s)????
  
  I agree , i'm not an "objective" poster as some of the junta here claim themselves to be. But I'm not a pure arr basher either.

  I think the songs of padiappa are good, we have to take into consideration the song situation in the film, and most important the songs are humable.It seems to be religious and dont except disco beats in front of a temple song situation

  It seems that a lot of focus is now on background music, after IR's KM. ARR worried now that people will not listen to his songs anymore and also condemn his rerecarding decided not to do bgm of megastar projects. He is also taking more time to do bgm than songs. So, superstar said, better not take chance this new year. Because he wanted Padaiyappa to be released this year and not in year 2000 new year, he asked producers last new year itself to have ARR compose bgm even though movie was not shotted yet :--------) because it does not matter if ARR saw the movie to do the bgm, as all his bgm is same. ARR does only 10 to 2 movies a year, nobody bothers. The bgms are like extendend version/rap version/pop version, 2.01/3.10/4.1, etc for the different movies. It seems for Padaiyappa bgm is finally by ARR and not Sabesh Murali, who is only doing bgm for all other ARR movies. This is the rumor in Kodambakkam itseems where ARR is living for a long time.

  Shankar, this is what is happenin with ARR. Now we will have to deal with Sabesh Murali as they become famous like ARR for BGM. ir will have nothing else to do there also, then he will compose symphonies and not release them. This means cacophony winning and symphony losing ;-----).

  I listened to the four Padayappa songs available on the net. My worst suspicion has become true. That the "em pEru padayappaa" song (which is above average) is the best of the lot, so far.
  
  "Vetri Kodi" and "Suthi Suthi" comes next. ARR, Vairamuththu has tried some "vantheeha pOneeha" giraamaththu style in "Suthi Suthi" - but this song is no "Inji iduppaLaga" or "Muththumani Malai".
  
  IMO, this album is inferior to Deva's "Badsha", which had 4 good songs (Autokkaaran, Thangamagan, Azhagan, Style) and an average song (EttukkullE) or "Arunaachalam" (Athanda, Nagumo, etc.).
  
  I also thought "Oh Oh Kik Erudae" sounded similar to "Ayiraththil naan oruvan". But, recycling has long since been accepted as "ARR style", so who is counting?
  
  I hope Rajini and the picturization does the magic and make the video versions of these songs as hits.
  
  For ARR fans who plan to listen to these songs "over and over again" so that they "grow on" them, you better buy a CD, since an audio tape will deteriorate after 100 or so listenings!

  Guys,
  we have heard the song only thru real audio, which reduces the quality by 200%, just wait before anyone hears the CD. Also we need to see the picturization of the song. what ever it is Rajiniku nan padinalum hit...so!....
  One of the song in that reminded me of Kanai kati kolathe --- from iruvar.
  
  A word on rerecording in Enswasa katre
  Makes me belive :
  1.arr sleeps during rerecording.
  2. arr does not do it., sub contracts to someone.
  3. he does not understand tamil.
  4. doesnt know to do instant music.
  5. his careless ness
  6. musicians who he hires do not want to play for re-recording.
  7. Not willing to learn, his rerecording is going down in each movie.
  8. Gives some prerecorded tracks (aka junk tracks) without watching the movie, the director and the sound engineer adds the sound track , where/when ever required.
  
  9. Lastly --- he assumes people while watching the movie become deaf for sometime.
  
  Directors can approch someone talented in rerecording to do music.Frankly the music gangesters Sabesh & Murali do better re-recording than ARR.

  Even I thought that RA Player must have reduced ARR's strong points, especially with the beats for the title song. They sounded muted, whereas if they had been sharper the song would have had a punch to it. But this also has a second, more telling point which I'd rather not make here. Pity to see that ARR is sub-contracting S-M. For all his faults, his association with S-M cannot be to his advantage.
  
  And guys, I am making these comments only after listening to Padayappa - one interesting, if controversial, thing - I was listening to "Solam Vedhaikayile" when I came across Vel's links. I stopped it and tried out the Padayappa songs and, in fact, found myself appreciating SPB's rendition of the the title song. But 2 minutes into the second song and I couldn't wait to go back to "Solam Vedhaikayile" !!! I now know for certain that the MD has very little to do with my preferences ! ARR's kind of music just does not do it for me. But my guess is that the same guys who are blasting Padayappa here are going rave about it after hearing it on CD ! Even if not great, I am sure it will atleast be enjoyable music for ARR fans.
