Bug,
Happy to know that you have only collections
of IR and MSV with you. It shows your musical
taste.
First of all, my apologies if I had given
an impression of treating you as enemy. I never
had/have/will have that intention. It is just
that I couldn't understand why you were
criticizing IR and the Raajangahm so much
whenever you got an opportunity and also
your postings sound very frustrated most of
the times. I am sure Raajangahm will get
refined as per people's feedback (like us)
over a period of time. I have not seen
any of the suggestions that are given by
people like us being turned down by Raajangahm till now.
Ofcourse people like Unmai Virumbi
are even more enigmatic in that they
seem to like IR's music so much to
the point of criticizing him for not
scoring for many movies now.
As far as I am concerned, Manirathnam
is in a better position(!) to retire than
IR. I think MR is yet to give a hit after
Bombay. So he has to do something more
different now like introducing a new MD
(like he did successfully with ARR(ofcourse
the success didn't last long as he himself
knows now)) and this is his last ditch
attempt in trying to get the elusive
success which he was getting regularly
with IR and very irregularly with ARR.
Mr.Fan, replying to someone's posting
without actually reading that, definitely
indicates how much considerate you are
about people ! I had only requested you
to be more considerate and not
categorise people. Your musical knowledge(as well
you) is respected. I sincerely hope you will
reciprocate the same with the other
contributors here.

I am just listening to Barathy songs on the net-I really pity the musical idiots who type out pages anlysing rubbish songs like shakalaka baby and uppukaruvadu.this is a mature movie which requires mature music and that is what is precisely here.IR is not setting to tune some TDH lyrics to music-it is mahakavi`s lyrics and I think he has done full justice. If the songs sound like DD songs etc-it is because barathiyars songs are continuously played in AIR for years and I think there has been plenty of uniqueness in Rajas tunes.I cannot Imagine ARR composing for this movie-the movie would have been in production forever with him taking 5 years to set to tune the songs and another 5 years trying to polish them!
I think a very good job has been done given the restraints of setting to tune Mahakavis songs, period setting of songs.
will this fetch him a well deserved award?
I do hope the movie is well received by the currently musically-deaf public of tamilnadu.

Prakash,
Nice to read your appreciation of
Bharathy songs.
Looks like you are new to this forum.
Be careful when criticizing ARR. You will
be crucified in this forum. The only
thing that is allowed in this forum now,
is criticizing IR and then there are
many people here who will be heartily
appreciating you.
Talking about ARR composing for Bharathy,
most likely scenario will be tunes like
Shakalakka etc sung by singers well versed
in tamil like Udit Narayan etc. The album
will be a big hit among everyone including
the non tamil population and the sales
will set a new record.

i think IR's music has no end. No one can stop his music. i do think that it's the right time for him to bid bye to tamil film music and concentrate on world music. I am sure that he can make inroads into world music. All the best raja

IR is the best and he need not retire . Please stop posting such idiotic messages in this thread. If at all u want to convey ur info, open a seperate thread and exchange ur ideas with ARR's fans.
Such comments about IR r strictly discouraged in this thread.
Take it easy buddy ,

One must be prepared to receive knowledge. This also goes for music. If we are here expecting the latest (perhaps the modern theory of music) "cut-paste-change_fonts", then Barathy couldn't fill our hunger because IR's way of delivering is just not the same as others like DV or ARR.
DV and ARR's sounds very much "new&trendy" due to the 'polishing' and incorporation of moving beats. (Kushi and Sanghamam are good examples). IR, nowadays also doing some polishing, but still aligned to his way of rendering music appropriate to the scenes described to him. Today directors will (only) go to IR if they want something like IR-ish style in their movie.
NB: DV - Deva, ARR - you know WHO is him, IR - ...

Digression
Athi,
Although we differ in opinions there
is no reason for us take this personal.
I am glad that you aren't doing so.
We all are not gaining anything out of this
forum. It is just a pass time with some
degree of sharing knowledge. If I feel
that your opinions are good, then I am
going to take it. And vice versa.
Ethil anavasiyamaga why hurt others with
words.
regarding the site issue which i post
frequently.....some decent DF'ers were
bashed heavily.(now myself also ;-)
If you closely look at the facts, it
will make sense to you also.IR is already
on the downhill whether we accept it or not,
unnecesary'aa why drag his name and make
him so ordinary?he doesn't even care about
tamil films nowadays. do you think he
is so eager to maintain an official site?
as once bb (engay aalai kaanom?) told,
the site should not be done based on some
vested interests.
I repeat, i am not hurting anybody over here.
so please don't try to come down upon me.
thanks.
END of digression.

Bharati:
Somebody recently raised a question
about the French Music bit in Bharathi album. That is the national anthem of France. Wish the Album sleeve said that instead of just French Music.
You can listen to that at

Digression Contd:
Bug, Your postings are very interesting to read.
I appreciate your not flaming anybody and polite responses. Can you expand on couple of things?
1. What is the "vested interests" stuff that you mention? - Being a newcomer to this forum and IR-ARR fights, I am not able to understand that.
2. If there is an official website for IR, how does that make him ordinary?

Please do not be mislead by Bugs postings. Look at raaja.com's mission->http://www.raajangahm.com/mission.html.
The mission statement makes it clear that it is an effort by a group of dedicated fans who colloborated with Raaja and created an official website for him. I don't see any expression of the so-called vested interests in any page of this site.
Maybe, Bug belongs to a category of people who wanted to start a similar site for Raaja because they have powerful contacts at Gollywood and failed to accomplish that.
If you are a newcomer to this DF, then for your kind information, the people who started the official website for Raaja are the senior DFers of this forum. These DFers who were HCIRF(Hard-core IR fans)had contributed to this TFM-Page by their innumerable postings as well as monetary support during the initial stages. These DFers joined hands and created a dedicated site for Raaja with the approval of Raaja himself.
Ultimately, this TFM-DF has helped in creating a great website for Raaja. I don't think Admin members like Ravi and RajaRaman have against this site and don't see their comments anywhere.
Thanks

Final Digression.
Ayya 208.154.130.13,
I am putting a period to myself with this posting about that site's issue.I have been digressing a lot. I was one of the few unfortunate people who got kicked unnecessarily in some of the earlier threads when something was discussed about that site. That was the reason i dragged this.
Looks like it has offended you more than myself.Sorry about that!.
By the way, Bold and Underline tag thaveera I don't know anything about websites. I don't have any intention of starting up ARR site, Deva site, SAR site, IR site.....Looks like you have been in this DF quite a long time, my request to you is that please refrain from personal attacks. We haven't seen each other.
You can substantiate my query with proper answers and make me clear than personally attacking me verbally.IMHO i think that is a more healthier way of communication. That is why the whole concept of discussion forum exists.
SHARING OF KNOWLEDGE. I have gained enough from people like Srikanth, Vijay, Udhaya, MS etc.
So let us keep this forum clean.
End of digression for good.
