  how is the song athisayath thirumaNam doing in india? inspite of few instances of ARR-ish melodies, this song is a milestone in IFM. oh! only very rarely are complex things beautiful. this song is one of them. great song.

  The std response i got is that, there's one song which goes on forever (it must be this...) and ppl start moving out. I read somewhere that this song comes almost towards the end of the movie.

  & Shankar &Nityashree have done full Justice To the Song
  
  Kaadale Jeyam(Nee than yen desiya Geeetham) is another Variety by Balram(nice voice)+Chitra
  
  Anbe Sugama is a usual melody(Resembles his Prev songs)by Srinivas+Sadhana Sargam
  
  Moondrezhuthu is a fast number & a Catchy tune too
  by harini+t.k.Kartik
  
  Adhisya Thirumanam is a nice fusion Song by KalyaniMenon+Sujatha which Describes the Climax
  
  other than these ARR has tried 2 new numbers nathir thina,love check with mainly Swaras

  Arul, even i wud pick up "Athisayam Thirumanam" from PP as my choice, its a complex composition with the meter changing from 5 meter to 6 (or 3?) meter and 7 meter and again doing the cycle. And add to that the harmony for the classical based tune. Its grrrrrreat.

  the MD for gemini is Imann.D he is very young and its his 2nd film. first is kaadhale swasaw by kuttipadmini films -not yet released. i can proudly tat we studeied music under same guru....Mr. Abdul sattar.....harris jayaraaj is also a student of his. but unfortuately, i c'dnt stay long in india to continue it.......

  You are totally wrong. Its Bharathwaj. I saw the launch program in TV. It's an AVM film and Saran is the director. He has chosen his asthaana vidhwan (and rightly so) Brarathwaj.

  siva, i wouldn't be too worried about such posts.
  Everyone has been waiting for ARR's music to start losing its touch for years. This is not a new development.
  Besides, he still has many more albums waiting to be released. With 2 of those being Maniratnam's I wouldn't be too worried at all.

  Seems Maniratnam held a press conference yesterday in Chennai regarding his forthcoming Kannathil Muthamittal! Also there's an advt in one of the tamil newspapers, today. Can anybody throw more light on it? If possible, a scanned version of the advt.? I suppose that means its coming out for Pongal.

  Class 9 Padma Sheshadri girl sings for Rahman in Kannathil Muthamittal!

  The (not-complete-but-relevant) translation is as follows:
  
  The girl, Vidya, is doing her Standard 9 in Padma Sheshadri Balabhavan Senior Secondary school, where ARR did his schooling too. She has sung ib Sun TV's Saptha Swarangal, Raj TV's Raagam Sangeetham , Humma Humma and Isai Mazhalaigal.
  
  While ARR was composing for Dil Se he had scouted for some humming voices from this school. Vidya was one of the girls who auditoned. She was selected as ARR liked her voice. She also did some humming in Dil Se's tamil version 'Uyire'.
  
  Then she also fondly remembers singing with ARR live on Chennai's Marina Beach for the Independence Day celebrations in 1998. They sang
  Vande Mataram together. She also accompanied ARR in his Dubai concert and sang there too. Pukar, 12ka4 and Lagaan are some other films in
  which she did humming.
  
  In Sangamam, before the song Sowkiyama starts the 'jal jal' kind of jadhi has also been sung by Vidya. She has also sung the 'thillalangadi' portion in DumDumDum for Karthikraja.
  
  She has also recorded a song with Hariharan in Udhaya and 2 songs in Kannathil Muthamittal - one with Tippu and another with Jayachandran.

  Shankar's next movie is called 'Boys'. Supposedly about 5 guys in love with the same girl! No idea about the composer though at this point, but going by Shankar's association with ARR, it could be ARR for all you know. AM Ratnam's Surya Movies is producing this movie and Shankar is trying to get some money back for AM Ratnam after the debacle of Nayak by making this movie for him.
