the song "oranjaaram" from kaakkai chiraginilE is quite good, except for the pathetic chorus singing (as usual). the lyrics are also pretty strange, with martin luther king, missingggu etc:))) SPB is excellent in this rendition.

Guys,

Songs in Kakkai chiragilE is very good, IR at his best in recent TFM,it brings us back nostalgic memories of IR's peak time scores. "oranjaram" is excellant combo by IR,SPB & some funny lyrics, you should listen to this song in lighter sense.

"Gayathri Ketkkum" is going to be another "Allah un Aanai padi" for IR and Unni, very good song. My favorite.

"Kola Killiye" is SPB at his best as usual, The interludes are very good in this song.

"Paadi Thirindhadoru" , Very good melody with excellant second interlude of guitar and violin.
I only listened to the IR version, need to listen to SPB's version.

Also very eagerly looking for Mano & Chithra duet.

Man! The "Sivamalli poovE song is a blast! The sax pieces,bass guitar [or rthym?], distorted veeNAi strings, humming and beats make this song highly enjoyable. What a song!!

they have reviewed nilave mugam kaatu. seems to be a pretty decent site, and the reviews are crisp and authentic. i had a doubt that the song 'chittu parakuthu kutraalathil' was loosely based on kirvani, and this has also been mentioned in the review.

After a long time, I am reading an un-biased Web review.

The mention of the Sanskrit usage in the first interlude of Thendralai kandu kolla is heartening. at least someone is observing.. Contrast this with the review of NMK in tamilcinema.com !!!!!

(I rememeber seeing a couple of songs on TV and perhaps it was the visuals that put me off but I wasnt greatly impressed to follow these songs up...now is the time...)

Here's a review of Mr.Mehndi from that site:
(Please note the sentence in bold ...great praise , indeed for the young upstart;-)) )

"Jalwa and Tunak tunak tun are already familiar to Channel V and MTV faithfuls. In Jalwa, Daler himself plays hero to Lisa Ray in the video which features her comeback. The stanzas seem to lose hold of the song where Daler exerts his voice. Sun veh mahiya is also a quieter song, and the powerful voice of Daler is equally good at this boatman's tune. The only disquieting thing again is the indiscriminate use of violins in a style unsuited for a boatman's song. A sophisticated violin backup is hardly fitting. But that apart, one of the bits is beautiful, in western classical style, with the flute and violins. This is very intelligently woven into the texture of the song and blends in most gracefully. It sounds very much like one of Ilaiyaraja's non-film compositions. The samba style La la dum is breezy and pleasant. The cassette as a whole is a good listen for its nice mix of slow and soft numbers."

Well, pg, if I had chosen to express that thought-and I couldnt have ,because I havent heard tunukutntun or whatever, proof of which is I am still alive;-)) - I would have phrased it in a much blunter manner;-))).
No "sounds like"s and "similar to"s with me. What you would have seen from me would have had the word "lift" somewhere.

That sentence was there today morning!

Why there is no new movie for our IR?What happen to IR Universel Studio?Any news about Jeya Jeya Jeyahe?But my heart said that IR is going to create a new world record which will proof that Indian MD are world class one...!Only IR can do amazing this just like that.When is our IR Time will release.IR already give super music for movies just like Friends,Anthapuram,Rajastan,NMK,Gummi Paathu and many more.IR is God of music.IR is my life.

Recently, IR went to Singapore and US to shoot for the video of jaya jaya he album. I went to india to meet him and this is what Karthik and Yuvan told me..So the album is going to be released unlike the rumours that said it has been shelved off

he was here for 10 days i believe and iR and his sons have gone to singapore to record and album of 42 songs for a singapore tv channel and and in one of the songs sung by all three of them, ir is also present in the video
