  I can't seem to find any reviews or info. on Adoor's new film 'Nizhal Kuthu'..
  Here's another example of how genius such as Adoor are treated by the 'babus' of Delhi.

  Filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, India’s best known face at international festivals, may feel more at home at Cannes or Berlin than the country’s very own IFFI. Or so he realised a few days ago. Poor Adoor had to stomp off the reception desk of the festival when the babus handling the show refused to give him a certain information flyer.
  
  Reason: “Who are you?” That festival regulars Shaji Karun and Prakash Jha whose films are playing at the IFFI have faced similar humiliations speaks volumes of the way this festival treats its guests. At their respective press conferences, despite sitting among the audience, the two filmmakers weren’t called on stage. Karun decided to walk out, though Jha ate the humble pie without a fuss.
  
  After all, what do you expect at the IFFI where all that everybody seems concerned with is: “I heard Shah Rukh Khan is coming for the Devdas screening.”

  People, I had a chance to see Ivan. The best part of the movie I liked were, the Parthupan-Soundarya ones. There is a theme IR has done for these scenes. There is one particular scene where Soundarya explains her dream world with Parthipan. Its starts off joyfully and ends is soogam. There is a violin arrangement which runs thro for like 2-3 mins. Hats off and I would just lay on the floor. I will try to upload it on the web if I get a chance. Don't miss it ....

  Kiran, After seeing Ramana, IR was pleased with the movie and told Oscar Ravichandran (Producer of Ramana) that he require about 40days for BGM, so that he can come up with a score which was not done in the history of Indian cinema. Usually he does it in 1 week. Oscar Ravi gladly accepted the proposal.

  IVANN has one new dimension in BGM. For the first time, i found a MD using western classic style BGM for a fight scene !!!!. And such is his mastery over WCM, that he could score BGM in WCM for a typical 'dishum dishum' scene :-).
  
  Ramana it seems is not the usual action movie of vijaganth. It has social background. So IR would naturally work overtime.

  Its been a while since I have posted in this forum.
  IVAN had some sections which was completely taken over by IR's BGM. Esp parthipan-soundarya encounters. The movie was an average flick but it had atleast 30mins of BGM which is well worth an album. What a waste of talent! I am sure not even 10 souls in TN would have related to this while watching IVAN.
  IR is on his own trip and only time will tell wether all this is worth it.

  I just listened to En Mana vaanil songs. I am amazed at IR's versatile compositions - they are brilliant. While Enna Solli and Unnai Thedi are melodious, IR rocks with Unnai Kannumbothu He He song. I couldnt get a good feel for the latter song when I heard it on Raajangam but it is beautifully composed by IR and very well sung by Hariharan and karthik. This is another great album for IR. (However, when I see clips of the movie in SUN TV, it is disappointing that these songs will be wasted on that movie).

  Yaaro, do you check out the ARR threads where IR fans buzz around making unwarranted comments and comparisons?
  
  I am not supporting Are Yaar, but you must admit that IR threads are relatively more peaceful than ARR threads.

  It's a known fact that IR's several big efforts have gone down the drain thanks to badly made movies or poor marketing. Even 'Lajja' for which he gave some awesome BGM score and a powerful theme song was not a great film. One can't fathom IR's justification for his extra interest in such projects.
  Some may say "EllAm vizhalukku iRaitha Neer"!
  
  Well, I have a feeling Ramana, the underdog could very well be a winner!
