I would rather spend my time creating good
music myself and serving the community rather
than waste my time and other's dreams by
'exposing' others!
ANd I would advice Srikanth and Sridhar to
do the same!

In my school days there was a teacher who used to advise what copying compares with. It si quite disgusting (anjaam class la sonnathu innikku varaikkum nyaabagam irukka ithu thaan reason) " Copying is like eating the stuff another has vomitted".
Sorry for the stink :-)

Fate? Please read my earlier posting.

Kaapi, vandha indha pakkam konjam kodunga!
Deva, a DJ?
DJ does not even play any musical instrument,
he switches back and forth between recordings.
So Deva is still a musician,
But wait, a DJ friend here is saying that
the turntable is his musical instrument and
he has quite a few skill areas he has mastered
and he is a well respects DJ.
Enna ulagamda sami!

I meant Deva is a good musician because
he plays others compositions fairly well.
(in rhtyhm and in scale.)

I need not explain Samplers to you, you know it.
There is yamaha groove sampler, with this i can create a wave from a some back ground music, like a tabla part of ZAhir hussian and this dam monster syncs the wav with my sequencer.
open invitatoin to deva to proceed....
Just heard few bars bufflo soldiers...akila akila was there in 3 mins...is this talent...
differnece between a artist and a xerox shop boy...though he replicates perfectly with the help of gadgets...he is still called the xerox boy not an artist.

Rjay: indha namakkedhukku oor vambhu attitude la thaan community azhivEy irukku. exposing is also a very vital community service. Take Ralph Nader's case. As Srikanth said, your creativity will be drowned in the prolific copies of Deva. Fortunately, you have other talents by which you can still have a fantastic livelihood. Imagine another modest talent from paNNaiyapuram trying to make it with genuine composing skills in todays world. Don't you feel responsible for killing his/her dreams?
Rjay: In all my posts addressed to you, I have taken a certain amount of liberty in addressing the issue directly to you. I have done this based on my faith and instinct that your (through your posts have conveyed a level of) maturity and undersatnding things in a proper perspective. I hope I have not offended you.

maybe he was doing it the hard way, and now
the technology is there, he is lifting straight.
Sampling and reuse is serious crime in west.
Enigma started the show. He sampled 'Gregorian
chant' (oldest form of classical (as against folk) music known to the western world) from
a church choir, mixed it with his wife's orgasmic
breathing and told that it symbolized Sade
and his CD became a hit. He had to pay a lot
to the original record producers.

I fully support the website for copies idea.
I am just playing around alittle with my
own perceptions of the issue, to see where
I land up!
You are welcome to talk the way you do,
in a anonymous sea of the net, personal
addresses are most welcome!
Srikanth,
Now on, I will call Deva ex-musician
for the two or three songs, he made me
happy with!

I dont think Deva's activity is criminal.

-- this is what deva does.
I am happy you changed in 10 mins..Deva cannot be accepted by me as a musician.
peddlers who buy milk covers and recyle for bags and shoes - deva is musical peddlar.

I still dont consider sample-stealing as a serious crime, I just point out that that kind
of activity might give quick fame and lasting
disrespect. (For a few days, you can amaze people
and for remaining years they will spit on you!)
If I am trying to copy, I tell myself
that playing someone else's music as my own is
a very immature activity at its best. If
someone else is trying to copy my stuff, I
would say, 'Man, if he is able to be more popular
with my stuff, what can I do to release my tracks
myself!!' (I have not been in such a position,
so this is just a guess! ;)

also ravi, tell me the 3 songs he impressed you, it will take me 3 mins to shatter that opinion.
I bet it is a flick.
how about a site IsaiNagal.com any takers.
or bb can create Copiedsongs.tfmpage.com
list out all the songs copied in tfm, including devas, will need about 20gb:) but still i am ready to do it.

ravi, getting a sample from a CD-Sampler is accepted, we need some good samples, many musicians do it, they good sax samples or guitar samples...(not the notes, only the sound sample)
but directly taking a sample from someones CD is a crime..devas profession is that.
you can cut and past some example codes from books or sample sites, but if you cut and paste someones compiled or production code..it is code theft..it is a criminal activity.

Samples : I meant the sound samples to be used in keyboards like korg trinity etc.
Deva samples: Take a CD...play the song...write a lyric that suits a song in the CD...ask a keyboard player sequence the song (replicate..) call singers to sing the song..what did deva do here to call himself isai what not. can some one tell me.

rjay,
i dont understand how u say what deva does is not crime. maybe in india. but if he was in US he would have been behind bars by now.so it is in that sense that srikanth says that deva is a criminal.
also, irrespective of whether deva's songs stand the test of time or not and whether he is remembered for a long time or not, the issue is he is killing other genuine MDs RIGHT NOW. so the issue is very much relevant to the present. he might not be remembered after 20 years, but is'nt he lessening the chances of other MDs like vidyasaagar, bharadwaj etc. who dont rely on lifts like deva but still dont have aproject in hand.
i was disgusted when a promising guy like vsaagar was banished to malayalam movies. i thought he would have been the prefect competetion to deva and i thought he would ultimately drive deva from the scene.
so if he could not make it how do u think that yours or srikanth'stalents be recognized? the public is being robbed of creative music in braod daylight. the whole film world is one big piece of sh-- when it comes to what's going on behind the scenes!!! Anyyone who acts as though he or she is humble and pious is in reality the main rogue.

this contains how to esacape from quick sand, how to esapce from bear..etc
---i was searching for how to escape from deva...

rjay, ur comparison music with software is inappropriate. Former is art, later is technology.
rajag, ur "copy" is getting ready at deva's lab, :))
for the copy page, to put a pillaiyar suzhi, i give vk's "madhanorchavam unnoduthan", KennyG's "The Moments", third track - "Havana".
