why IRcan't achieve national awards?

IR is a music genius.still today he is unbeatable in BGMs.eventhough he done saga musics in some films like SIRSICHALAI,HEY RAM,SETHU.AZHAGI,
he cannot achieve national awards frequently,
shall we discuss why it happens?

  Even if IR one day comes up to me and say that actually he didn't even compose the symphony but J.Scott is the one behind it....I won't care. I AM NOT WAITITNG FOR HIS SYMPHONY TO BE RELEASED. I KNOW THE REASON WHY IT'S NOT BEING RELEASED(FOR NOW). JUST BECAUSE OF THIS ITS NOT GOING TO UNDO WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE FROM HIM TILL NOW. AND I AM NOT WAITING FOR HIS BGM TO BE RELEASED(I SUPPORT THAT TILL THE ARTISTS' RIGHTS IN INDIA ARE IN PLACE). AND I AM NOT WAITING FOR HIM TO COLLECT THE NEXT NATIONAL AWARD OR EVEN OSCAR(ASK GOLDSMITH, DELERUE, BERNSTEIN, SCOTT, POLEDOURIS, BROUGHTON, ETC AND THEY WILL TELL YOU WHY!).
  
  Simple reason being...the man has given an ocean but people only a drop(THANKS TO BABA). Its all out there...the last 25 years of his work....from songs to bgm to interludes to quartet music to original fusion to carnatic to cowboy western to inspiring disco to heavy rock to symphonic like score in films. And when you are so familiar with western music from classical music to rock n roll to 70's 80's disco to heavy metal thrash rock to film musicals to jazz to hip-hop/rap to blues to church music to film scores.....then you will know why IR is ahead of his times and why his music is simply amazing.
  
  Its all out there. Its all up to the indivual how smart they want to be ie. to appreciate it and have an own mind.

  1.the answers are simple .The national awards are based on songs and not for BGM's .Illas is great in BGM ,but the same cannot be said of songs
  (from 1994 onwards).The fact that he is the only asian to have done a symphony proves this .Eveen AR Rehman who has a greater international aapeal than ILAS did not get an opportunity to do symphony

  I do not have any link with MRamki. I do not know much about the IP business and I don't allow anybody to use my PC with out my knowledge. In my office, I don't think anybody else other than me uses my PC. So no idea about the confusion. But, one think is I am not the Mumbai Ramki.
  I won't provide the clarification anymore, if you choose to stress the same point again and again as you did for some one else here.

  Are Yaar, I don't know why you are wasting your time responding to maniacs like Unmai. Even IR couldn't get to half the standard of ARR's first film of Roja. Today IR's standard is about 5% of ARR's. So national award is not something IR can dream of any more, unless they introduce a new award call "worst music director of the year". Sivaji didn't achieve a national award & that's what holding IR's award kind of excuses are all bul*shi*ts. In my opinion IR is not even worth for a state award. Please kindly leave this thread for people to talk about their dreams & make untrue statements.

  I do definitely agree with your point(s). Yes Charu is not a musical genius like Yesudas or Subbudu, but his article has appeared in "Vikatan" which is a very popular magazine. I'd like to bring to your notice my earlier posting on this thread "to put a full stop" to this thread. I now again request all the TFM page surfers to put a full stop. I have also send a mail to the webmaster of TFM to take this thread out of TFM page. Anyhow IR is the greatest and there is no doubt about it.

  Oh my god... what u guys are talking about.U guys never know the statistics but simply talking some crap.Ilayaraja won National awards for 2 times.Moreover he is the only music director who scored maximum votes when he won the awards.When ARRehman won the awards,he won by close margin with amsalekha(Kannada Music Director) and R.D.Burman(1942 Love story).Keep it in mind and talk about the things.Indian music achieved its quality with the work of iLayaraja.U can never forget about the amazing work of Raja on Nayagan.He gave such a Magnanimous BG music when Indian music is simply crawling on its knees.Every Maniratnam movie that ilayaraaja worked has a great piece of technical indulgance.
  Thalapathi is one among them.No one can bring up such a background score in their lifetime.He reads the pulse of the audiance and the taste of the directors.He made so many directors.For instance Sundarrajan(Director of Payanangal Mudivathillai,Vaidheki Kaathirunthaal,Naan Paadum Paadal) was topping the chart when he worked with Raja.When u talk about the quality of Roja,please try to remember the quality of ChiraiChaalai.If u weiegh a music director only with the sound then ARRehman is a good sound engineer but not a good music director.Ilayaraaja is always best.He never gave flops to Superstars like Rajini and Kamalhaasan.He knows the star value and takes a lot of care while he performs to top ranking actors and directors.But see A.R.Rehman he gave such a big flop to Rajini(Baba) and for KamalHaasan(Tenali).Even Chandrabose when he worked with Rajini he gave super hit songs.But this guy dont know the impotance of Super *.

  Ilayaraja won National Award thrice.
  Twice for telugu films (Sagara Sangamam and RudraVeena) and once for tamil film (SindhuBhairavi)
