not correct nf.
Dont forget films like Sangamam, En swasa kaatre etc and recently Rhythm. If ARR has time, he will
definitely churn out mesmerising tunes, no matter who the director is.

Subbu, try raaga.com. Tune is good, I agree.
But, Isnt lyric same as the lyric in kadhal desam?.In the song 'anbe anbe..' there is a line, 'poi ondru sol kanne..'!.
After reading loads of tamil syllabus in the likes of Kambar, Illango, Bharati..I dont know how we are still ammused by these silly lyrics!.

nf,
Saran is one of the best directors in TF. He has created a niche for himself. The story background, screenplay, atmosphere are all good aspects about him. Its because of bharatiraja, he is doing arr's recycled songs. Do you know anything about saran before posting some crap?>.ARR mabe some MJ meterial, but Saran is a good director in his own right. He deserves a MD who will listen and makes music for him.
Its sad Rahman is ignoring the new directors like saran, cheran, bala etc. Who make good movies with simple stories.

at last some sensilibilties in a reviewere....and boy somebody was actually pointing fingersa t charan ...charan is one of the most elegant directors we have in the industry ...his screenplay ranks comes second to only mani ratnam and bhagkaraj... this man has shown immense potential in how to write a good scrip..and how to deal with relationships....
and please any day his choice would have been bharadwaj ... BR just wants an attraction in the name of ARR ... if money is the only motivation factor..ARR can go back to north i guess... but still there is some element of music left in him when he decided to compose for parthibans "yeleloo" .... so rahman is now classifed as the director's composer... and not any director's delight... will rahman stand the test of time ..or be washed to the shores of north and thereby lived happily ever after among the likes of anumalik and jatin lajits ..will only remain to be seen ..anyways now an ARR album doesnt really create any excitement it used to ...it comes and goes without a trace...
..but as an observer its really delightful to see how other music directors are actually lifting themselves to the occasion..vidyasagar ...YSR...HJ .. i hope rahman brings his stuff to TFM and they better be good ..
thanks

I suppose 6 months is not enuf to recycle a hindi song to tamil!

<<...6 months is not enuf to recycle a hindi song to tamil..>>...dear siva, a song has two features, in my opinion..one is inherent quality of the tune as such and the other is packaging of the song (like adding extra sound effects...beautification of the tune)...rehman occasionally concentrates too much on "packaging", and this takes bulk of the time...[for instance, asha bhonsle said in an interview that the final form of the song in RANGEELA were entirely different, and the effect was far much better]

whether raja's fans accepts or not, arr is the undisputed king of tamil film music and no music director comes near him in the matter of popularity.(illayaraja cannot be compared with any music director including msv and he is an unmatched ex king of tfm) Raja is now well past his prime and it is better for him to retire as music director. Arr is the trend setter of today's tfm and is singularly responsible for bringing variety of voices of in tfm(though much below the standards of spb and tms).arr is today's king and will continue to be so for few more years to come

"arr is today's king and will continue to be so for few more years to come."
very true.That's why star,paarthale paravasam,
thenali were all musical superhits with very
high quality music. And alli arjuna is going to
be a mega hit.

Just like Subbu, I was also taken by 'Oru PoiyAvathu sol kannae' song when I heard it for the first time. I was wondering who the MD was and found out that it was ARR. Superb song!

hariharan was da best choice for the poiyavathu soll song.... great rahman ... keep going... with more hariharan .. and u will be on da top... and rahman introduced hariharan... who is a equal great singer to spb. sometimes better ..than spb ! for example.. kavithaigal sollava... i prefer haris version more.. and most of the ppl feel dat tooo !!!!

mr singer, please for even argument sake, do not compare spb with any other singer for that matter.
I think you are a new comer to tamil film music and I am listening to spb since 1967. spb is sivaji of tamil film music . there are singers several steps below the ladder and spb is at the top of it. among new comers hariharan sings better that others but after few hearings his voice also some how become stale and he is not a versatile singer.

fan,
u think HH voice has become stale. That's ur
personal opinion.Don't try to generalise what
is purely ur opinion.I feel HH voice is young
and fresh even at the age of 50+.He is also an
equally good singer.Hariharan may be relatively
new to TFM but he has also had a long musical
career. He has also composed brilliant Ghazals
which he sings beautifully which i bet SPB can't
do.Pls i'am not degrading SPB and things like that
but HH is unique in his own way.Maybe he hasn't
sung so much as SPB but he is also great in his
own way.
And TFM should be grateful to arr for introducing
HH and a few more talented singers like unnikrishnan srinivas etc.

boy to the issue regarding "oru poiyavathusoll kannae"..ARR didnt compose the song ..it was SABESH MURALI ..WHO happened to do the background score for this film too... and if thats hard to trust ..ARR fans can closely scrutinise the song and find for urself...it doesnt have any elements of an ARR song.... if u know what that means...
well regarding SPB VS HARIHARAN... BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGURMENTS SEEM GOOD ..JUST its an individual opinion alltogether...well regarding that i havee somethings to point out....
well although both are very talented... hariharan excels only in slow songs ..were he can use his ghazal experience to express his feel... but he hasnt shown more variety... for examnple... listening to his KAASI songs ....there is no feeling differing in songs..which there ought to be..i still cant figure out how IR missed out on that.... compared to chinnathambi or any other movie of spb... take kathal ovium for example..the feel for the songs is just amazing..hariharan ..just fails in this point ..and this is again my personal opinion..
thankx

And the small sample from ARR's composition play in the background too. Too small to make a judgement though! The shockwave file that has the music sample is this...

'paarthaale paravasam' songs 'kettalae padu mosam'
'Alli arjuna' is yet another recycle from ARR.
It will also be an utter flop.
why ARR is not giving enough time for giving new tunes instead churning out of his old tunes!
any way many of his old tunes are also either cut & paste or heavily inspired !
I wonder when will ARR give some new tunes in TFM ?

where do u have ur information about 'oru poiyavathusoll kannae' not being by ARR? this sounds too weird to be true...
"it doesnt have any elements of an ARR song.... if u know what that means..."
i'm an arr fan and i don't know what u mean. oh...since when do we have patented 'ARR-elements'? what are those elements? could u please enlighten me? hmm...if its those typical cliches u mean, then all songs by harris jeyaraj must be actually by ARR...if u know what i mean...
