I think all ARR fans who have particiapted or simply observed newtfmpage forums will agree that there is something vicious in the way his haters attack him. They start threads like "ARR is becoming unpopular" or "arr is mad", a thread that was fortunately deleted. And they also make really stupid postings against him. Some of these haters carry the "IR fan" logo, but let's keep in mind during this discussion that not all of these ARR haters are IR fans.
The thing is, if someone simply dislikes ARR's songs, u'd just leave it aside and not worry about it. I mean, if ARR fans find that Bharadwaj's songs are nice u'd listen to them. If you found Bharadwaj's songs unappealing, u'd leave them aside instead of starting threads and making postings on how Bharadwaj sucks, how he is mad, he's becoming unpopular, how his songs are falling behind in the top ten listings, share links on poor reviews on his work, etc.
But ARR haters do this and more. If they simply state "I don't like PP songs" and provide their reasons why, that's ok and I wouldn't classify them as ARR haters. But when they make comments like "RAHMAN IS A DISGRACE TO INDIAN MUSIC COS HE COPIES FROM ARABIC MUSIC
AND HE SUPPORTS THE TERRORISTS OF PAKISTAN FROM HIS EARNINGS
SO HES A BAD MUSIC DIRECTOR AND A BAD MAN" by DINESH (@ 213.121.248.90) from the thread, "Brand New Topic - ARR Vs IR!!", you know there's something more than just a dislike of ARR's music.
So let me outline the purpose of this thread:
1) To discuss what lies in the root of such hatred.
2) To share some of the worst postings made by ARR haters in this forum, attacking ARR and his fans personally. (like the one above)
3) To discuss the different ways in which ARR haters attack him.
and finally, as a bonus to this topic, we'll most likely find several ARR haters visiting this thread to make more aggravating comments not only about ARR, but also about ARR fans, me for starting this thread, and the singers who sing in ARR songs. Let's talk about it too.

And a fan of IR's occasional hits like 'Ennai Thaalaata Varuvayaa' and 'Nee partha parvai' etc from recent days.

"Look everyone Fliflo only has one point in all his/her messages: IR is more popular and much better than ARR"
I take it as an appreciation or as a compliment! Is any body listening..but?
"Many ARR fans can also quote many sources to illustrate ARR is more popular:"
Please keep posting in appropriate thread and I would love to read them...
"Everyone knows how statistics work."
Of Course....No science (real) without statistics.
Those statistics don't reflect the truth due to this and this and this reason. Bcos only Kumudham does! Get it?
Your glasses allow you to see that way...As I mentioned to Trend in one of my earlier reply messages...I don't compel any one to believe or follow that..It was purely my belief and wud be refreshing to go through once for others among their busy everyday schedules :-)). I don't understand why many take them so seriously to say that it is a bogus..I can feel the heat!
"I respect alot of IR supporters here and I'm a great fan of IR's 70-early 90's music too."
Do I need to comment on this??
"Fliflo tries to paint others (namely, anyone who supports ARR) as fanatics and extremists, he/she should speak for him/herself on tat account!"
I don't disagree that I am a HCIRF...Fanatics..mmm...I am looking into Webster's to find out what exactly it means...

>>Your glasses allow you to see that way<<
Drop yours first, Fliflo. Your nose may be bleeding.
I don't think kumudam is bogus. But i don't believe they r going to fairly predict the trends in a 50m over strong population of TN.

Digression:
I think during the time Sujatha was the editor of Kumudham, it was heavily biased in favour of ARR (for whatever reason)...in fact that was the time & the periodical which started all these IR-ARR comparisons...later there was some balancing after Sujatha left (I think Malan took charge for a while before Jawahar Pazhaniappan took over) & IR is not too much rubbed nowadays...but still it favors ARR more (not to say about what all innovative words it uses to dump the likes of Deva & SAR)...
Even in the said poll, please read the conclusion. The summary is definitely not in favor of IR (though the scale of postings in favor of IR is pretty obvious)...
Hence don't think Kumudam is pro-IR or something like that, it's rather pro-current market:-) I would rate AV as pro-IR since it publishes something or other even when IR is not scoring great on movie scale...it even published a photo series of IR, his musings etc.

Fliflo, u did mention glasses which makes people see the way they do. Dropping yours is a friendly reminder u have one too.
eden if wat u say is true then how can anyone quote the kumudham to verify tat IR is more popular than ARR?
Besides isn't this getting abit out of topic? I mean if let's just say for a moment it is true tat IR is more popular than ARR like some assert. Or for that matter let's say tat HJ or Deva or Cat or Dog is more popular than ARR. Wat does tat mean to this topic?
1) ARR is less 'popular' so he is HATED?
2) ARR is less popular, so deserves to be HATED?
3)??
I can't figure out the connection.
