IR's new albums!

  Did u go thru the cassette cover properly? :)) Lyrics are by IR ...it says "Paakal Punaivu" - lyrics by IR, and then "Isai Uruvaakam" - Music created by IR. Now check it out after seeing this posting :))
  
  BTW, Fans ...the cassette was selling like hot cake yesterday when I got it. I am sure it will be a hit.

  Cheithi... It should be obvious about the cassete sales. The songs are too good.
  
  SMK is another gem in Raaja's crown. Best of his albums after Bharathi, Kaathal Saathi, EMV and Azhaki.

  Good album..surely there are traces of 70s and 80s IR here..Gundu malli pallavi ending seems very familiar. EthO Onnu ..prelude is like the EthO mOgam (from kOzhi koovuthu) prelude. Re: panam mattum - why is that thaththuva pAdalgal have to have this beat ? Even the iconoclastic ARR does it the same way.
  IMHO, IR the lyricist, is not doing justice to IR the composer, inspite of fresh ideas in the lyrics. Very good album.. but does not beat kAthal jAthi in my books. This should prove to the other MDs, that tune is the primary aspect of a song.

  Well everyone's said it. But i can't resist in joining everyone who's heard SMK in giving another 'thumb's up' to Raaja.

  SMK Songs are just great - IR is back with his classic touch !!! Especially the first two songs ... monday morning and this guy is not letting me concentrate on my work ,.. listening to the songs again and again and again and again :-))))
  
  I remember commenting in Album thread that Shreya goshal should replace Sadhana Sargam .. I am very happy to see it happening ! She does a very good job in this song too !

  SMK - nice refreshing album from IR. on a quick listening at raajangham site of all the songs, got a feeling of travelling thro tamilnadu towns and villages. as kiru said, 'gundu malli' is like the 80's songs something like 'thekku theru machaane'. my personal pick at the end is 'jakkamma..' which totally flipped me inside.

  Latest two album are very nice and out of this world.Ramana is a very good album in recent time.But after SMK music audio released,Ramana going to second.What a great tunes in both movie songs.Well done Raja.You is the King of music world.Raja is always best ever was and best ever will be.One and only musical genius we have.Our great Maestro Raja.

  Yes, Shreya Goshal is far better than Sadhana Sargam in Thamizh accent. I too wish the same Shreya's accent should replace Sadhana's accent

  Raaja, Raaja Thaan... 'Amma Sonna Aariraro...' is still echoing inside me. I want to sing the song loud, but have to wait until I leave the office for the day. I don't know which song takes the first place. I'm confused between 'Amma Sonna', 'Gundu Malli', 'Edho onnu nenachadhai ' and 'Kaatule'. Experts in this forum may dig deep into the songs, to rate them. But for a music No-Wise like me, the songs are soothing, makes me dream and makes me forget myself. Hats off Raaja.

  "Gundu Mali" has the initial phrases resembling an old MSV classic "Athaidi Methaidi". Rest of the lines are vintage IR.

  s0, IMO, you dont need to wait with baited breath for this album. I gave it a listen yesterday and from what I heard from those samples, nothing much new is offered in this album. Ramana was disappointing as well. the Oscar Ravichandran-IR combo has proven to be disastrous so far.
  Most of his recent songs sound like they have been recycled off some old songs. and IR singing 4 songs is inexcusable :-) If the songs were of "Avathaaram" quality atleast, one could bear his voice.
  
  "Ivan" was decent, rest of his recent albums have been terrible.
