Thankar Pachan is a hardcore fan Ilaiyaraja (Like we) and also he is a Perfectionist like Bala. So I think Pachan's Alaghi has fantastic songs. I am very expecting this album and it will be another Bharathi, Seithu.
I pray that alagi will be a super duper hit.
I want to see a commercial raaja again
Anyway
If alagi missed super duper hit,
KASI will be super duper hit,
I believe because KASI's directors comment on IR's music on KASIC

I dont think that Azhagi will be released for this deepavali. The film shooting is yet to be completed. Katrukenna veli is completed two years back. censor board rejected to certify the film as the subject is based on a srilankan tamilian.

Quick Review
-----------
Best Song - Oliyilae therivathu thevathaiya
But the 'Un kuthama en kuthama' will be another super song which will be the all-time favourite of IR fans and melody wishers
Also the song 'Sundari Vanthalam' is a nice song with a lot of singers, first sube sung then sathana then unni.. wov great experience. But it remember to me the song 'Oru maina kunju .. dandakkudandan dandanda dandakkudandan'.
My faurite is
Oliyilae therivathu thevathaiyaa
Sure, it will be milestone in singer Karthik's carrier.
Ippadi oru illaiyaraja-vidam vanthu niraiya naalachu.
All of IR fans,
please buy a cassette/CD of azagki (In the cassette cover the spelling of this file title is azagki)
enjoy the sweet melodies, melting melodies
Finally a few words
a simple and excellent songs from our mastro
This is not expected songs in TFM (even in IR fans),
But it prooves again the IR's touches
I pray for super hit and commercial success for the songs and also the film by Thankar Pachan (Oli oviyar)

Hi NagaS,
That article was very good.
The people who have written this article have rightly pointed out
about the lack of recognition for IR and his role in bringing
back due recognition for tamil songs when hindi songs were the order
of the day.
The writers introduce themselves as people who know nothing about
music - I feel that they are using this premise to explain off
many things:
For instance Raja's statement "Ennai edho oru sakthi iyakkudhu"
I feel there is truth in his statement. Even as listeners, many people
must have felt that there is something in his music that gives them a
taste of something that is unknowable and a blissful feeling many
times. This is the case with me. The writers have made a mild mockery
of this by comparing this with "Aavi Amudha" (I do not know who she is,
but her name suggests that she must be claiming that she has contacts
with spirits etc.). The authors give credit to IR's hard work - I've
read that he works from 7AM to 10PM. But his creations definitely
represent something more than hard work. It is a gift - it has to
be a gift - otherwise, it would be a very difficult thing to explain
the fact that he writes down notes spontaneously on paper. Or what
Lalgudi Jayaraman says must be true - that his talent is not the fruit
of one single birth's efforts - but it is impossible to know this with
certainity.
The writers say "Unnai unarthalilye perum pozhudhu poi vitta padiyal pennai
unara thavari vittai". For some reason, they aren't able to digest the statement
"unnai unar" by IR. I myself do not know what it represents - but prodding him
with that statement without actually knowing what it means seems to be going
off board. They also say this to IR - "pennai unara thavari vittai". They've
pointed out many instances of this. This article has come out in 1997. The
writers must have later noticed that IR composed music for "Indhia Magalirukku Idhu
Mariyadhai Pookal" that came out later. I also read that IR did not take money
for composing music for "Kutti". The writers also refer to the Miss World
competition as "Pennai boga porulaga nadathum nighazchi". If that was true, I
wonder what the "boga porulgal" themselves where doing in the program,
participating and judging. I personally have nothing against this event and feel
that the authors are not justified in blaming IR for composing in that event.
They also say "pen kuritha puridhal irindhirukkume anal, nila kayudhuvum
sitherumbu kadikkudhuvum unadhu isayil arengeri irukkadhu". I think this requires
a more wholistic view of the subject. It is not fair to single out a few songs
and use this as an instance to prove that IR did not respect women. For one thing
cinema is not just this. If we can point out instances like this, there can
be many examples that bring out the positive instances of cinema. Another
thing is that a song coming out IR's music need not completely represent his
view about that subject. For instance IR composed for "Kadavul" - a movie that
stated that god does not exist. IR himself is a person who states "God is
everywhere". The third thing is that this is a very subjective topic. For instance
I personally have nothing against these songs. I am sure this is the case with IR
too. If not he cannot make a statement like "Nai Kuraippadhu kooda enakku isaidhan".
If it is the lyrics that the writers are against, then IR is not the person they
must be addressing.
But the writers appear to be honest admirers of IR and I feel they are justified
in many of their views. The last lines make a tremendous prediction - I think
their prediction is definitely going to come true. Osho said "A genius is
always ahead of his time. During his time he would always be disrespected". He
quoted the example of painter Vincent Van Gogh about how people thought he
was a mad man, but how his paintings are worth so much right now. I can't
help feeling the same thing about IR - but the sad part is that we may not be
there when this happens.
Regards,
Deepak
