Songs discussion

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

Everyone is pretty bored and fed up with arguing on differences of opinions regarding MDs right ? After all typically, what would we TFMers discuss suppose we meet in person ?. Song discussions right ? So here is the thread.

Idea is someone will introduce a song and we all will discuss about the song, period. Limitation is we will automatically move to another song after 5 days of discussion. ie. anyone contributing to the thread after the first set of 5 days will have to come up with a new song!. Also whoever is starting first can state the ending date of five day period.

Some help from Ravi is required for this until some time for people to really start adhering to this.

BTW why 5 days ?? Obviously to keep the thread fresh and alive !!

  bb, it's "Alai mOdhudhu" not "pAyudhu".
  
  I have a different interpretation for "En Nenjam Endrum KannAdidhAn" - may mean that her heart is so clear and transparent and that she's so serene always. I feel this because the use of the word "Endrum"! One's heart cannot be "udaindha Nenjam" or "Shattering Glass" 'always' given the slight hope that shows itself in the meaning of the song. It can only mean to emphasize her "pavithram" so that she can alway expect things to change in her favour for the better.

  BB: Karthi has turned out to be the Nakkeran! I also feel his point is valid..the keyword is "ENDRUM" kannadi thaan. Whdya' say?

  Like, in Mahabharat, Krishnanai munniruthi Arjunan jeyikkalaiya? Our Raja is so great that even though I am no Arjuna, even a novice like me can take on Dronacharyas like Karthi and BB by simply placing IR's achievements before me. Hence my dhairyam:)

  yes, ur interpretation is also valid.. a poem can be interpreted in several ways.. about the usage of "endrum", may be because her hopes have been squashed throughout her life, and she has very little to cling on to, as is shown by the next line "en dheivam maangalyam thaan"..

I recently returned from a visit to Chennai and fell in love with the music from that movie. I found the Tamil/English transliteration, but I want to know what the songs are about (especially "enakkae enakkaa" and "vaaraayoa thoazhi vaaraay en thoazhi").   karanan gets hit by ambhu but he doesnot
  die as his dhramam thalai kaathings.
  Then Krishna comes to Karna to ask all his

  I love the song "Ullathil.." Its the power of Kannadaasan's thought process that makes him write a song that would really make us think that Kannan might have really sung a song like this to Karna. How beautifully Kannadaasan sums up the entire story of Karna in just three lines :

  Thambikku annan illai
  Oor pazhi yetraayada...."
