1947 Earth is a masterpiece by ARR. This is one of the best in his career. First song simulates 'Hey Rama yeh kya hua' and one more simulates 'nila kaygiradhu'. One the whole, the album is different and not to be missed. Good lyrics by Javed Akhtar, a Deepa Mehta film starring Aamir khan.

(Just do not want to expand any further on a Hindi album in a TFM page).

I think you are referring to the song "Ruth Aa Gayee Re" .It seems to be in Panthuvarali (Am I right?) as is Hai Rama Yeh Kya Hua maybe that is the reason for similarity . Yes it is one of ARR's top albums .
BTW, Doe anyone know what is ARR's next Tamil and Hindi release ?

While Engineer is almost shelved, KK is going to come only in yr 2000. The next release is going to be Taj Mahal in Tamil and Pukar in Hindi.

Kamesh: Kandukonden is set for release in October, November time. They have finished most of the filming, I think the songs are also practically done.

Since you happened to see the shoot of KK at uk tell me this. were they using an outline of the song to make the dance sequence or was it a complete tuned song?

I am to understand that only the outline is complete and not the tracks.

Sorry, I confused with sridhar seetharaman with you. damn I. Thanks for you insight anyway. I dont have any emotional fanatical attachment with LP music anyway, I was just responding to the people have said about LP arrangements. I know you have very high regards for RDB and since I started to explore his music recently, may be, I have outgrown him, and hence my opinion that LP arrangements are better than RDB.

I too read that interview . Shankar also said that the song u mentioned is sung by Shankar Mahadevan ,but in A.R.Rahuvaran's posting , there is no mention of that particular song !!! Shankar also said abt how they used scarecrows in the picturisation of the song , hence there MUST be a song by that name .I wonder if our friend has missed the song or is it a joke?? ;-)

Hi,
I read that the tunes of Kandukonden... were performed by ARR from London and Rajeev Menon chose them from Chennai . By the way Rajeev Menon , The Hindu says is a big music fan and asked ARR to compose in certain ragams which Rajeev liked .This came in Friday Features of The Hindu some 4-5 months back .

A.R. Rahuvaran is so confident.. May be 'Mudhalvan' has released or A. R. Rahuvaran is extremely good at writing tamil songs :-)

Munniapan

It was P.Susheela singing and ARR was the guy who gave the qawwali singing in the interludes. I thought that the Harmonium piece was fabulous. What was that instrument that he used in the second musical interlude, the one that follows after the piano piece? Honestly, I never knew that an instrument could bring out so much feeling. Kudos to ARR, This album is ARR'S BEST! Noone should miss it. Oh yeah, I personally loved the duet by Chithra and Hariharan and think that's the best in the album, but I also like Shankar Mahadevan's song to, but he needs to work on pronounciation. Needless to say, the lady gave a top performance, easily shadowing out Hariharan in bringing out the emotions. The ending is a real treat in this song.

I believe Pyramid Audio is the one to release it - and there's nothing mentioned about Mudhalvan in their web-site(pyramidaudio.com). Guys-- dont fall for this!

Mudhalvan World wide (except India) music rights are owned by Basky Records (Aingharan company), they don't have any information on it. I don't think Mudhalvan is out yet.

I thought you listen that Hariharan and Chitra's duet song. If you didnt listen, then how do you know that it is the best song in that album.
