  I don't understand why you make such a big issue of this recycling bit....ARR is busy right now...some producers and directors cash in on his absence by recycling his hindi songs in tamil....so why blame ARR...he is Commercial Artist and can't refuse !
  
  These albums are meant for the large publc who are not crazy music fans to go and buy music albums of their fav MD bfore the film is released....and who dont listen to HFM either....
  
  I don't buy these recycled versions myself...but find nothing wrong with it..

  so lets us take a movie is dubbed from hindi to tamil ....
  
  1. Poducers will perfer to use the same tracks, one main reason is finance, they cannot afford one more mastering charges of tracks, they cannot afford to call all the artists to record it again., also the existing tune might be a hit.So why risk on getting a new one out and testing with people.
  
  2. When arr signs up he might have got the copyrights in all the langauges, so by agreement they need not record it again.
  3. Oncing and sitting and recording a new track for the same movie is stupidity, I would rather use the old one which has been already proved as a success.
  
  People calling "music" as recycled, reused is nothing but make something out of nothing. Just to find fault with ARR.
  
  Music making a is big bussiness, so please start to consider music as "money" for big timers like arr, dont you guys recycle money from one business to another.?...this is some what same, please cut the crap on recyle and dont equate it as a major crime.

  Lagaan - It's india-zimbabwe match with aamir playing sourav ! The result of the match ? - u know that. typical hindi movie with a brownish tint to give a period movie effect.
  remember someone was comparing this with nadOdi thenral...No way related to it and these two can't be compared.

  It was me. I did not have an inkling of an idea as to how the stories are related and that is not of much interest in a music forum. My comparision was between two songs- "kaadhal paattudhaan paadikko" and "oh re chori" - which have a blend of both indian and western genres. And my opinion was that the fusion in nadodi thendral was better done.

  ARR SHOWS EXCELLANT PERFORMANCE IN COMPOSING.

  What in Lagaan sounds similar to Jodi except "Ghanana ghanana"?And this too has a reason-this song had to be in the raag "Megh malhaar"coz it is a song praying for the rains-and "velli malare" also happens to be in the same raag.
  For reasons as to why ARR recycles,kindly visit the "is YSR the new ARR" thread-u'll stop blaming ARR!!

  Common guys Its the ARR's wave. whatever he does its great for everybody. whether He recycles/gets inspired etc., nobody is bothered. You have good reasons for everything.
  
  All the problems start when he is written off. This is not going to happen very soon as he doesnt have a good competitor yet to write him off. Till then all papers has to write reviews/opinions for him as he is the best in business.

  The link is an excerpts from Ustaad Sultaan Khan. He says he worked with Ilaiyaraja and Rahman. Both Karthik (Raja's son) and Rahman learnt music from Ilaiyaraaja. Rahman is like a son to Ilaiyaraaja. Rahman improvised whatever he learnt and fed them into computer and produced good sounds. Great fame and fans love lifted Rahman. Whatever it is... Raaja is Raaja and Disciple is disciple.
  
  I am not sure why any of the TFM fans does not wish to give the true translation of the text. Instead mis-intrepreted to different meaning. Poor taste!

  ARR's entry in to TFM was certainly with a bang.thanks to cable TV and advanced technology he could extra mileage out of this. but within his first 5 years he started recycling his own songs, interludes,cut& Paste from old MSV/GRamanathan's songs. in the pretext of giving chance to new voices he has brought in some of the worst pronunciation of tamil language.also he made it a point that tamil film lyrics will be only 50 % in tamil and the rest in English or sheer blabber of meaningless words. A good lyrics writer like vairamuthu who penned some memorable songs in DUET has been reduced to a 'tanglish' writer.
  
  Many in the TFM today are faithfully following ARR's style.the average longevity of even a hit
  song is only about 3 months. thanks to ARR.
  
  While ARR is certainly a gifted MD, too much of a hype has been created.He is certainly the most well known MD today,but certainly not the best. no comparison with legends like MSVR,KVM,SDBurman,RDBurman,naushad,madan mohan or the genius IR.

  i like ARR,he`s a greatttttttt md ever in the world ,it`s amazing how he can compose such a nicee musics,he makes me proud ,i`m a keyboard player andd last time my other frens teasing mee abt indians songs they tell that it`s tooooo classic and no improvement,but after ARR enters fuhhhh ,they also appreciate and respect his songs especially shakalaka baby it`s great and rythm wow wonderful ,alaipayuthey is wonderful and star although it is recyle but it`s his own music not like deva ,now becoz of arr my chinese frens and also malays are listening to his music although they don`t understand the language ,they tell he`s a wonderful man
  
  abt harrish jeyaraj i respect him toooo ,but how can he compete with ARR,modern musics vs modern hmmm it`s very hardd,harrish will get a copycat degree 1 day becoz his music same with ARR especially the background musics ,

  All this complaint about ARR, but:
  
  So, when IR used his Tamil songs turned into Hindi for the Hindi KB movie, no one complained; but when ARR does it, everyone has a problem.
  
  In the IR music one, it was a K Balachandar film I think - EK PREM KAHANI or something like that. It had the Jhonny song, Kaatril Endhan Geedham as Nena Bole Nena....
  
  Where were comments that IR copied, when this was done?
  
  When it was a rare Hindi film for IR, he could have composed original songs, why didn't he?
  
  This ARR bashing has to have some sort of substanciation or at least knowledgeable DFers.

  Latino's are proud of latin music,
  blacks are proud of black music,
  
  but tamils are not proud of thier own rich folk and classical music. Atleast they can keep quiet if they dont understand it.
  
  if all they want is shakalaka baby, why not listen to english songs it self, anyday they are better!.
