  I see many have posted lots of trends! set by Raja...this was all changed just like that by ARr
  
  I agree Raja is a puli in RR , arrangementla puli Raja, everthing he has done...but!..
  
  ARr has also done many good things..
  
  One person has written multilingual of Raja...
  suma...tima waste panatheega..ARr has country wide fans , just do not degrade AR just for the sake of bring up Raja. --- from the Day 1 here my points has been Never to compare Raja with ARR, they are form different times..enjoy both the stuff instead of fighthing over the issue.
  
  Again and Again Copying etc..Bach ueeroda iruntha Raja mela case vanthurkum...I will point small bach score- in Kadoram lolaku 2nd BGM..flute piece... Vetuku Vetu vasapadi veenum -- Mozarts song---(btw this comes in Titatic Watch AD)
  there are many..I will not go into it here.
  I know many scores Raja has used! bluntly from Western Classical, let us not go into this..
  
  do not kill others music just because Raja is not doing well. No ARR fans drags Rajas into thier arguments ...only IR fans pull Ar for everything.

  no comparison between Raaja and other
  indian mds. If you enjoy irrespective
  of mds, I really appreciate you and that's your way of enjoyment. But does this mean that all
  should listen to the music regardless of
  mds? No way, to me Raaja is the best ever
  scored for indian movies and I can't enjoy
  the songs scored by other mds as much as I
  do with IR's songs. you may say I'm the one
  missing something. Agree, but don't blame me for that. Blame Raaja who gave the best in 70s, 80s, and early 90s.

  In "who is the best md...." thread, you didn't
  explain why ARR is better than Raja. Srinath
  asked you so many technical questions. But you
  didn't answer for his questions and I'm still
  waiting for your answers.
  Then one more thing, whenever you have been
  asked what ARR has done better than Raaja, your
  answer will be "I'm tired of this IR vs ARR war"
  or something like that. I hope oneday you'll
  come up with valid reasons.

  Give a song Raja as set a six part harmony...for a voice track.

  Raja starts with very conventional chord..for the scale
  ARR always starts a song with an unconventional chord for the scale..
  Eg: Porale ponuthayee..
  Also a different kind of folk ....proved he can give a village folk without tabla..
  if you say porale is bad song...I am sorry..

  Bass - Slap bass - no tamil music BEFORE ARR has heard Slap bass as slap bass.. Raja has never known to use slap bassing.
  Acid bass - Urvasi -- Playing the Acid bass style is not easy. Raja has use this sound but not acid bass style.
  Arr introduced Grooves : Beat sounds - drum kits house kit, Acid Kit - Brush kit ...Scratch pads..
  different sounds...
  
  Raja was forced to use House kit in Kadluku Mariyadai..and doubling of recording.
  Doubling...no one knew that before ARR...
  Does any IR songs have doubling...
  
  AR has used many international styles of scoring
  like caribian, Spanish , Mexican Salsa, Rap.., Hard Rock, Jazz.

  Spacious scoreing - If your Yani or Richard Clyderman you will find the score covering a wider spectrum..
  AR scores have a wider sound spectrum, if you have a spectrum analyzer you will know more ..
  Raja scores have more instruments but the spectrum is limited. this is also due to poor sound balancing.

  why have you also gotten into the morass of "ARR has done this . has raja done this?"
  
  should raja compose something in six part Harmony or Slap bass to be great? can somebody exhaust everything that is already there in order to qualify as a great MD? i understand that you are being provoked and your technical knowledge is being questioned but does that warrant this kind of comparison. you are opening the floodgate of questions like has rahman composed something in kedaram, nalinaganthi etc. where is the end?
  
  i suggest that you maintain your stand that both arr and raja are great, in their times and cannot be compared.

  ARR tops Raja in Commerical value, how did this commerical value come to ARR, what was Ir doing when this so called commercial value went up for ARr..Commercial value enna cycle tubela addikartA katha... is it so easy to become a TFM star over night that too in presence of Greats! like IllayaRaja - I consider - Raja va oramkatinathe oru achivement!... Only for Varthai jalam - this words like Ar has commerical value etc.
  
  Few of you have claimed Raja has not be recoganized, he has been recoga-nized very well - Isai gani - Isai selvan - Isai Arasan all were given by whom! he put it himself or ..what
  
  All the magazines, newspapers, sabhas, music associations, musicians (including me) prasied
  Raja for his symphony even before it was released or hearing it. Enge Adhu.....,Porumaikum ore ellai undu.
  
  All the carnatic musicians including Semagudi told Raja is a great musician. Ithu ellam enaa paru...

  i have to second badri's comment in that if u say that raja has not done so and so then there are quite a few things that IR fans can also say that ARR has not done.your arguments should be more like IR should have done this, but did not do...
  instead of IR did not do this,that etc...
  
  the info which u have been providing is interesting. Iam interested in knowing more details from u about the bach, mozart flicks.
  
  and regarding ARR orangattufying IR i consider it as a one time wonder.i still consider it as creditable, but ARR has not been able to dominate over a period of even 2 to 3 years.also, IR was concentrating more on symphony,music college etc. that he did not compose music even for kamal or rajni films at that time.also neither of them worked with ARR during that time and preferred deva.
  
  now deva has orangattufied AR with his commercial value.do u consider it as a great achievment?i don't.
  
  orangattufying is what IR did to all other MD's in eighties.devendran,shankar-ganesh,manoj gyan, V.Kumar,chandrabose,MSV etc were wiped off completely. whereas IR is now having 36 films after giving a tremendous hit in kadhalukku mariyadhai whose songs have become popular in all college cultural festivals.
  so IR has not been orangatufied. also mani rathnam's influence had a bigger role in ARR's success than his music itself.If ARR had scored the same roja songs for some SA chandrasekhar film as his debut iam sure he would not have been as popular as he is now.
  
  TFM'l click aavatharku konjam macham vendum.ARR broke into TFM at the right time and with the help of the right person.it was more of a circumstantial thing.
