  malyalam, tulu, oriya film songs if u switch on radio or t.v. u will hear a song from the voice
  of susheela for past more than 45 yrs. wheather u like it or not she is here to stay in our life like an integral part of our life she has sung some memorable songs in kannada fils whih even janaki envied.

  no doubt in saying that smt.s.janakigaru is a veratile singer.Our telugu industry is rich by having such a great singers like smt.p.suseela and s.janaki. Not only in telugu, but entire south. They captured millions of hearts. Initially, i, being a great fan of s.janaki, wish to hear songs in any language. It is very sad to note that either the govt.of A.P. or govt of India have not honoured these two grear singers who rendered their service for more than 40 years.
  I wish s.janaki a long life and many songs to sing for her fans. May gad grace her.

  I really feel some junks in this page had passed some worthless bucking comments about janaki. what those junks know about SJ?
  
  ha ha! about one telling that sj sung some songs rejected by others.....
  shailaja's-- indha vennila & susee- indru vandha inba mayakkam.. where they would have started in high pitch and being could not proceed further.. left it very buckingly... first u junks go and listen to their songs....
  
  yes yes...Sj cannot be compared with latha.. becasue
  1. sj will not naphe others like latha patty did for vani jayaram in gudi..
  2. sj will not cancel the appointments after accepting for stage performance like latha kizham did once with our naradha gana sabha.
  3. sj is great and still have sweet voice.
  
  edho oru prarabhdham ezhudhiyirukku sj is singing from nose nu. let those idiots sing for one year practise and then tell...
  
  its waste to see those dhedhdhi jadam's comments about sj..
  
  sj sung 'nagumo mugane' in her 11 yrs in kakkinada stage and got aplause....
  
  once fool indicated that sj sung only 15000 and others aroun 30000.. yes it indicates that sj is selective and will not accept any worthless songs..
  
  first of all i want to say onething... when its a page or dicsussion about one specific purpose,, let us talk about that person than talking about other junks....

  i do agree with raja's comments... janaki did stage performance alone for 4-5 hrs recently and others like chithra or yesudas or suseela did only for 1 hr or so that also taking duet songs. janaki sung many solo songs. without taking rest.. its great to be there..

  S.janaki is definitely a great, versatile singer. Many of her songs are soul stirring. Be it with yester years music directors such as MSV, KVm and later with IR, and now with ARR she has given heart rendering melodies. My favorite songs by SJ are
  
  1. Nila kaiuthu
  2. All duets with kamalhasan (kanmani anbodu, Sundari neeyum, Inji eduppalaga)
  3. Nenjinile
  4. Chinna Chinna vanna kuyil
  5. Intha mandrathil odi varum
  6. Senthoora poove
  7. Singara velane deva

  There is no point comparing SJ's number of songs with PS's. For one thing, its common knowledge that SJ was suppressed from taking flight in her formative years by none other than the great V-R , etc. Many attribute this to the immense pressure from PS, LRE and the like. Thats why you more often find SJ singing duets with PBS [Who was also suppressed by TMS, and MSS - which he has openly claimed in many interviews - made no bones about it]
  
  The other fact is that you can here SJ's voice from the time of "Paadadha Paatellam Paadavandha...", where she is humming the background, till date. That calls for a great appreciation. It is sad that it took some many years before Illayaraja could rediscover her.
  
  Donot talk about numbers. Talk about consistency, and versatality. Can PS, Lata or Asha or for that matter anybody change the pitch and tone of teh voice Like SJ to sing like a child. Can anybody forget her "kanna nee yenge..." song from Rusi Kannda Poonai.
  
  Remeber the 2 songs in Magalir Mattum, where she modulates her voice so effortlessly to identify the 3 lead female artists in that film. If you have a good ear for voice, you can hear 3 different modulations.
  
  I think its an insult to SJ, when you compare her with Latha. Remember the (in)famous comment about Latha "Her heart is as black as her Saree is White".... Can anyone show any such instance or comment about SJ. Id it not a fact that she helped singers like Swarnalatha...
  
  People, do grow up. Let us use logic and facts when we analyse people. Let us not be blinded by our passion. I know, I know. I agree that all the singers compared have their best songs, and everyone has to accept that they were good in those songs.
  
  But, as a voice, as a person, SJ stands tall above all.

  yes, i would at this juncture. I felt really pity to see the comments.... that too about great singers that we have... Latha,asha,janaki,susheela, vanijayaram.....
  These are all the singers that indian cinema has gifted to us music lovers.(i have not mentioned all the singers,that is why i have put......, so dont mistake me if i have left out any other singer)all these singers are great in their own ways.... you can never say that one is better than other. Why i say this is that ,everyone had created their identity of their own. Which itself conveys that they are all great. One thing I would point out is that for eg. I may be a fan of s.janaki... but i would never say that susheela is not up to janaki or so... because i love to listen to these great singers...When you make such comments, have you ever thought, what would the singer, who you admire or love to listen the most, would have thought? Think about this...
  
  P.Susheela would never like to hear, someone who say that her co-singer to be compared like this way or the vice-versa. Because they are all the singers, who have learnt to respect their co-singers.
  
  How nice it is to hear janaki telling that i like susheela's this song.... or susheela telling that i love to hear janaki's this song...
  
  Now coming to the new singers... i have seen in many place chitra quoting that she became a singer listening to janakiamma's, susheelaamma's......song. how nice to hear her say that...being a great singer of today. Even a susheela or janaki would have been proud of her.
  
  This is what one have to know when you make a comment...When i say this, dont think that iam hurting anybody's feelings, but dont you think this is a fact. Even then if you feel i have said something wrong, then iam sorry to each of you.

  s.janaki is a no.1 singer in southindia.her voice is very husky.nobody to compare with her.even lata too .she is a great woman.
