  I think Kannukkul nilavu is a movie to be enjoyed for all the pains the director & the music director have taken to put out each frame and the so called slowness in the movie helps it. It may not appeal for ppl. who appreciate cinema when it has all the masala/sentis in it.
  
  Infact the ghost house comedy sequence was so good that the sound of the laughter of the audience overpowered the speakers of the theatre.
  
  So, I think it is a well made movie, but opinions do differ.

  I feel great to know that many had seen IR's program on sun tv and had enjoyed it.
  Wow, after a long time our favourite MD has done it. Just look at the speed with which he has composed the BGM and it took the comp to render it 1 and a half month later. Though in the HR cassette a lot of songs like Kamal hassan's sanyasa mantram and vaishvanava janato may make it somewhat kamalish the other songs surely stand out and makes a mark. Pity our people do not recognize his efforts. Hope this year stands out for IR's comeback.

  Synopsis of what LS has said in Kumudham.
  
  Last year Kamal asked him to tune for a Video version of Marudhanayagam. Kamal it seems felt that he could get some international recognition if LS did that. He declined the offer because he did not want to do something which is being done by somebody else in another version. Later Kamal insisted that LS tunes for Hey Ram. Again he says Kamal was interested in the mileage he can gain due to LS's infuence. LS accepted this time. Ls did 4 songs for the film in the stipulated time. He used global fusion for the tunes. He finished everything and left for some assignments abroad. Kamal asked whether the rerecording can be done by some other person. I made it clear that I dont interfere in other MD's movies and similarly I dont like other to poke thier nose into mine. Kamal left angrily. Suddenly I heard that IR was tuning for the movie.

  Pure lie. They never talked to me about my rates. At first they offered 10 lakhs thru my manager. They said IR gets lesser during negotiations. I asked them not to compare me with anybody and reminded them that I get showered with dollars when I am abroad. But I am doing this to help you. Can a person making a movie on Gandhi talk like this? They say they depositted the amount on my sons name. My sons are 11 and 9 years old and dont even have a bank account. And I am a prompt payer of income taxes unlike others.(KAMAL?)

  Now it seems so. They wanted me to rope in Ben Kingsly. Due to his fears about how the movie would be and due to his schedules he (Ben) refused. Even today he maintains the Gandhi image. But suddenly they announced that they have removed Ben Kingsly from the movie. He wanted to make use of my influence in Engalnd and Farnce. Am I a pauper (Annakaavadi ) to take 10 lakh rupees for a movie movie made in 3 languages?

  Quite possible. But was it I who came asking for this chance? I have tuned for mira nairs movies........ Even Sathyajith Ray has appriciated my tunes. He used to listen to them in his dying moments too. Yes, I dont know to tune for movies.

  Why are you dragging her into this. My manager dealt everything in this. (Kavitha intervenes to say that LS does not know about the film industry and should have drawn a contract before starting)

  Raja is my friend. He learnt music from my father. He accepted to Kamals request. Its his convenience. But I have a policy of not doing other MD's movies. All the best IR.
  
  How come Kanchi Periyavar came into this picture.
  
  I had done an album on sanyasa manthra's with Kanchi Periyaval. Kamal wanted to use it and wanted Sankaracharya to be in the movie too. I asked him to ask himself. Kamal is an athiest. Will he go? But now I understand that To make his movie run he would do anything.
  They leaked a news saying Bala Periyavar is acting in the movie. The Mat asked me and I told them what happened. I heard that they even called him and talked to him reg. this.
  
  They say you left the movie at the instance of the Sankaracharya
  
  Are they roping in HH into this too. He has niether told me to do nor to refuse this movie. Let them not become victims of Holy Sins (Dheiva Kutram) Hey Ram!!
  
  Is all your efforts for this movie a waste?

  Seems LS is quite humble in his responses and diplomatic too. Thank GOD IR is one of his close friends in India or else IR would got the same (negative type) comments Kamal got (ie. lying,atheist,to gain international fame alone etc. etc.)..

  Hi all! Just returned from INdia after a good long vacation. Got nothing to say but Good(Great) News.
  IR, the King is back with a bang...(or shall I say with a Vengeance)! KN is doing very well in the Audio circles, and so is Tirunelveli. I need not mention about HeyRam..even the HIndi version is doing great.
  
  Man, except for the "Dappanguthu song", the album KN is a musical Bonanza..Can't get songs like "Oru Nal Oru Kanavu" and " Iravu Pagalai Theda" out of my mind. Nice to hear KJY sing for IR again (after KM?).

  Kamesh, Aruvi Thanks for the info! But Im wondering why LS repeats that IR has learned his music from his father? "Veli naadukalil kacheri seithaal Dollar-kalai alli tharuvaarkal" - LS should understand one thing.... money is not the value for the talent! if so IR should be having more money than Bill Gates! In foreign countries our ppl appreciate our music even its not its not up to the standard, pouring with money too. They have nobody else to do that there! Can u do in Tamil Nadu what u do at 80 countries and get the equal appreciation and money??? U can't! 'cause there are lot of Jaambaavaans!! For any Artist, he will be talked by his products not by the money he has got paid! If LS was given good money, he would have shut his mouth, isn't it?

  Does anyone knows how much IR gets paid for a movie? When lousy heroes make 30, 40 lakhs for
  a movie, IR getting less than 10 lakhs per movie
