  Hi Shashi,
  Actually the similarity between "Kurukku" and "Nallavarkellam" is more pronounced in the charanam. I can give you couple of lines from the charanam and let me see if it rings any bell. Ramki would be the best person to complete the lyrics for this song.

  This is just a question., Not a conclusion and NOM.,
  Today morning I happened to listen ARR's 'KuLiruthu., ' from Tajmahal and Karthik Raja's Classic 'Veesum kaatRukku., ' from Ullaasam., There is a very good violin piece(or is it something else ? :-) in the second song which comes thro'out the song - For me it seems like the source for the first few lines of 'KuLiruthu., ' song. Am i correct ? or they both are based on same raga or something ? Yaaraavathu puriyaRa maathiri sollunga Please., thalaiyaip pichchukkalaam poola irukku., I listened to both the songs n number of time repeatedly and still ---- oNNumee puriyalai.,

  You'are right nagas. 'Kuliruthu' is inspired from 'veesumkaatrukku'. but 'veesumkaatrukku' is inspired from western album called 'melodious melodies' of jonathan stanche, a french composer. I had the copy of the album it was released in 89.

  Is anybody realized that the song " SENKAATRE... SENKAATRE" from TajMahal is exactly as IlaiyaIaja's song RAASATHTHI.... RAASATHTHI UNNAI ENNI MANAM URUHI NINDRENADI........)??/ I dont remember the movie name but it is VijayaKanth movie.
  Is anybody noticed??

  Yaa I also felt the same when I saw the movie.The BGM was very poor.Maybe ARR is slowly running out of ideas.Nowhere he is near to any IR's BGM.I hope he should do a good job and concentrate in BGM's like his songs.

  Deva has also used the Raga Vaasanthi in the film Avvai Shanmughi - the song is Kadhala Kadhala Kadhalil Thavikkiren.
  
  Rehman has used Vaasanthi well in Mudalvan, the song being a very big hit and loved by all, including some top directors in India and also some Sound engineers - I won't mention names!
  
  Reason for Azlagana Ratchisiye having a Cinna Kannan sound, they are the same Raga and there's not much variation one can give to Reethigowla. Take a isten to all the numbers in the Raga, there will be similarities.
  
  As for Sowkyama and Mayil meedu or Murali Dhara Gopala, Maand is also a Raga that cannot be elaborated on much. In Carnatic music, one will see very few compositions in these Minor Ragas, as one cannot do much Aalapana on them nor can very exclusive sounding compositions be done on these.
