IR's under recognized gems...

guys,

I think there are a lot of beautiful gems of IR that has been totally forgotten...
one of those songs which falls in that category is "Arumbum Thalire" from the movie nambirajanin chandralekha....
others include :

viralil suthi meethava - nanthavana theru
un munnai naanum - nanthavana theru
ponmane theduthe (sung by kamal) - movie i dont know..
and lots more... maybe everybody can contribute to refresh and rediscover the lost gems!!!!

  Do you guys know why Panchu Arunachalam does not work with IR anymore these days ? I think he produced PoovellAm kEttuppAr with YSR. I think he writes good lyrics and also has a good sense of music.
  In karisakAttup poovE, the mAmaraththula oonjal kattanum song, I think the lyricist had a creative thought block when he writes mAmarakkkiliyE. BTW, who is the lyricist ?
  
  My opinion is, many songs of IR would be a hit with a different choice of lyrics. Some of the lyrics mix rustic words with common colloquial words, which I think is not good. Either it should be pure tamil, pure rustic or totally colloquial. But the saving grace is many songs IR seems to have ensured atleast there is some karuththu.

  Malayoram mayilae veLayaadum kuyilae FROM oruvar vaazhum aalayam.
  
  It is set in Sindhu Bhairavi(if im not wrong). A very good, simple duet by Malaysia and Uma Ramanan. If you listen to the song the Malaysia's portion of song will be simple and straight forward and Uma's portion will be bit heavy in terms of classicalism(?) of the raaga. I feel that this is exact replica of the situation.
  
  In the movie Prabhu doesn't know music whereas his new bride, shanthipriya(? banupriya's sister who acted in enga ooru paattukkaaran), has very good knowledge in carnatic music, an inheritance from her great classical singer father(sivakumar). The situation is she will ask him to sing and thats how the song comes into "picture".
  
  Rustic and easy(?) portion by Malaysia and bit more structured portion by Uma.
  
  A Simple but a Gem, un recognized IMHO.

  another under recognized gems are songs in KIZHAKKUM MERKKUM...listen to ENNODA ULAGAM VERU in the film sung by IR...heart rendering song that is beautifully set in SUDHADHANYASI raga i guess...hats off to raja for the song...but an underrecognized gem.

  " nalla naazh" had one good song ( SJ solo), I am not sure if it was Underrecognized
  Another Sreedhar movie, i think movie was a flop, had very good songs " oru naazhil malarndene" being one of them
