  I feel rediff's interview was pre-mature atleast with regard to ARR's contribution to the movie, DSKR -- IMHO please!!
  
  I has just seen the movie and the music is nice and fits well. "Boli sajni" and "Jhula Bahon ka" are good and the picturization of "Kheva re" makes it good (I didn't like the song that much before!!). Other songs are also nice....
  
  I feel ARR is improving on his BGM. But, he has repeated, in slightly varied form though, the famous BGM music from Jeans. I don't know why he uses songs' tunes in the BG music most of the times. It's as if you are informed of the next song in the movie!! He has to improve upon it. Otherwise, some BG scores are fine.
  
  So I feel and this is IMHO.

  The author of the review in rediff appeared to be disdained about 'South Indian' accent and he was condemning ARR very subtly. Mr. Sharaiff does not seem to be someone reasonable. I think ARR's fine contribution was put down by this useless reporter and he has stained the reputation of Reeiff. Why do they encourage such parochial and narrow visioned reviewers is a mystery

  I heard that ARR is composing music for the next film starring Vijay and Aishwarya Rai directed by Vijay's father S.A.Chandrasekar. This is the first film for ARR with the leading young hero in the Tamil Film Industry, Vijay. But I don't think Vijay will sing a song in this film like he did with IR in "Kaadhalukku Mariyaadhai".   I guess these movies (Sangamam, Rhythm, Udaya) are all being produced by

  I just read in "india today" about the movie "takshak" by govind nihalani and music by arr. Threre are three pop numbrs in this film since GN has roped in a famous model to play the role of a pop singer.
  
  So I guess, that movie will be the feast to ARR fans and those who like pop kind of music. Also, ARR told in one interview that GN has a good taste of music and it is difficult to please him. Hearing all this, I have great expectations from this album.
  
  We should also see how ARR composes BGM for this film. GN is a very good technician who doesn't compromise. So, he will not compromise on BGM. Guys, there was a tele serial by GN called "TAMAS" in which the BGM is absolutely great!! I think it's by Vanraj Bhatia. TAMAS is about Indian freedom struggle and partition.
  
  I hope GN gets best out of ARR...

  I heard from a cassette shop owner in trichy that there was a "ladAi" betn producer/financier and the director of the movie which has resulted in postponement of the release of the movie "en swAsa kAtrE", indefinitely. I don't vouch for the authenticity of this info, though.

  Only one Tamil Film with music by ARR has been released this year (1998). Or is there any other album? What are the Hindi albums of ARR released in 1998 apart from "Uyirae" and DSKR?

  People are already hyping about ARR's score for the Hindi film "TAAL" even before thay have heard it. This is probably because every MD gives his best shot when it comes to composing for Subhash Ghai's films. And ARR can surely give Subhash Ghai's best music score ever, as all his earlier super hits except Hero and an odd number from Ram Lakhan and Pardes had no great compositions to boast of (even though they were called musical super hits). And since Ghai's films have tremendous publicity and hype, I'm sure ARR, will achieve the primier status in HFM, which the likes of Annu Malik are claiming to be theirs.
  
  I hope Karthik Raja too jumps in and compliments ARR so we get some real quality music from this duo in HFM (Quality music died an abrput death there after R D Burman). His 'Grahan' has not yet been released and once that happens, his fabulous score for the film will probably give him a chance! (Well, in fact, the film has to be a hit for the songs to be recognised. ARR's great score for Pudhiya Mugam in Hindi went unnoticed primarily because of this fact!!!!)
  
  I just hope that his Dil Se score bags the awards this year, and NOT the mediocre Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, just because the latter has become a monstrous HIT!

  If you count Thamizh remakes, then "Ottam" is a pretty good ARR fare. "Poonthendralae" by KJY and Sujaatha was a great number. "En Kaadhal Neruppae" was an okay number. There may have been one or two more decent ones if Pazhani Bharathi had some class or at least bothered to buy a Thamizh thesaurus.
