I just read about ARR and Cheran teaming up for one of Cheran's future movies. I got the information from www.tamiltalkies.com/events, check it out, it seems legit.

R Rahman is to score music for his first Kannada film. Titled Ram it stars
Madhuri Dixit and Bangalore boy Arjun Sarja (known as Arjun in Tamil). Directed
by stunt director Raam Shetty for Kannada producer Ramu under the banner of
Ramu International it will be dubbed into Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

How long is it going to take for the next ARR tamil album to release.I thought Rythm was supposed to be a Diwali release.I read that Taj mahal is a pongal release so when is the audio likely to be released.

Well this year has been very dull for an ARR fan like me as there were only three releases of his so far ie Jeans,DilSe & Doli sajake rakhna.Let's hope at least next year more of his music will be released and they all will be great hits.Is there any release in these last two months of this year.

According to the local press here, En Suvasa Kaatrey is set to be released soon. Let's hope that it is as good as Jeans and Uyirey. :-))

Hi I heard DSJR.

Taram Pum okay type song.
Kissa Hum Likhengr good song has shades of pachhai killigal from Indian.

Best song ofcourse is Bol Sajni Mori Sajni.
Great song.

No comments on the rest of the songs.
Chal Kheva is the remix of Kuchhi kuchhi from Bombay.

Looks like ARR is in signing mood-Apart from 'doli..',hes doing music for 'pukaar','takshak','waqt','dil sachha chehra joota','yahi pyaar hai sanam',Priyadarshans film with Akshay Kumar. But he seems to have reduced accepting films in tamil. Apart from 'rhythm','ESK','padaiyappa'-theres nothing new. He might do music for next Manis film(this film is rumoured to have Mamta kulkarni in the lead-Playing the role of Monica?:)

Hi

Has anyone seen/heard about the movie FIRE? ARR scored the background music for that film and according to the Rediff news, ARR did a very fine job of it.

Anu i saw Fire couple of months back. The bg was good. ARR had used nice folkish music whenever we were shown Shabnas childhood. Even the climax had good music. BUt ARR couldnt refrain from his alarals and kadharals and the tea shops and barber shops(shown in the film)were playing 'arabi kadaloram'all the time:)))))

Anu, Ramki : I happened to see Fire last week and I feel that ARR has done a decent work. There was an interview in StarPlus where ARR told tht he was asked to reuse some of the theme frm the movie 'Bombay'. Though I couldnt recollect the BGM frm Bombay, I felt it fited in very well in this movie. I also feel ARR had written few more scores in the same Bombay 'mood' [or thts wht he means by theme?] for FIRE. But, there are few important frames, which look very empty bcos of no BGM. [if we calculate total BGM time, it will be less than 20 minutes I guess]

ARR is the MD for RAjiv Menon's(minsaara kanavu fame)second untitled tamil film *ing Mammootty and Kousalya. ARR and Rajiv are now in London for songs recording(Source-kalki weekly)

I expect another gem from this combo...To me, Minsara Kanavu, is ARR's best as of now with each song being unique in its own...again IMHO.

I believe ARR doesn't compose music at home (Madras) or Bombay these days. He insists on recording in London (probably to avoid nagging producers or perhaps to get 'inspired').
But one thing is for sure, the quality of recording will be pretty good.
But ARR has to monitor the quality till the casette/CD production stage, 'cos many Audio companies scru up at this stage. There are many albums of his where I have found the volume at an abysmal low...
