maybe that did give me away !!! I couldnt reconginze your name at first you but later realized who you are.
I am not sure you can quantify complexity, or atleast that is not the complexity I am talking about. In other words, I define complexity as something that cant be quantified (please dont bring in chaos theory!)...
Only today morning I was listening to Dvorak cello concert and was amazed at how sudden and drastic the emotional changes are, and you can relate to them. To create music like this one certainly cannot be 'calculative' in any sense. I feel that you can't quantify musical feelings any more than you can quantify emotions. Thats why I use the word complexity.
hey we should be talking on the phone about this rather ... give me a call. hope all is well/.
cheers

Hello friends
Whether IR is planning another symphony. Will somebody clarify.

stoned to death soon.
the chance of doing a symphony came to him after one of the composer heard raaja's "nothing but wind" and "how to name it". not just because of the songs like "vaadi ye kappa kezhange". please understand that only a genius can reach the heights of composing a symphony and raja is the only genius in asia to do that. and to criticise a creation who has done symphony is like a layman talking about einstine's E=MC square.
For a guy who writes notes from mind to paper and unlike others mind- keyboard- paper symphony is just a left hand job for him. he also holds the record for being the only composer to compose symphony in 24 hours.
do you know what was the great carnatic music critic subbudu last wish was. it was just to hear the rajaas symphony, which he himself had expressed and was fulfilled by raja through his son kaarthik who took an emergency flight to delhi with the symphony cd and fulfilled subbudu's wish.

Raja write notes from his mind and you write words directly from your mind, but they dont make sense. Maybe use the keyboard correctly ?
Raja : mind - keyboard - paper = symphony
You : mind - computer keyboard - tfmpage = doesnt make sense

I agree that IR is very good in writing music from his mind to paper. Interestingly this
skill exists within many of our young musicians but they are not focussing on it as they
depend on computers a lot. I'd say.. there is nothing wrong with using a computer for
orchestration. well.. coming to the point.. We cannot say that all the symphonies are great or
extraordinary. I've listened to very ordinary symphonies which sounded bland like an average
hindi song. I'm sure that IR can do better than those compositions. But the scary thing is
this symphony is IRs debut and he has to prove that he has done something different from German
and Russian monsters (composers!!). I doubt whether a 24 hours symphony (on an average of 6 hours for each movement) can compete these guys! Anyway all the best IR buddy..!
BTW Subbudu is not the right person to judge WCM. People like him are very good in admiring
or critisising Indian music (or any monophonic music) and rhythm. If you play a symphony to
him, mostly he'll be noticing the melody part or some dominating layers but not as a whole.
he'll just say that the music is grand thats all. so forget him.

anyway, my point is, no symphony, no telephony.
but, IR is supreme, no matter what. simpani or kaalapani. our Raaja is the supreme.

Prabhu, ellamey andavan kayile. all will of god almighty. what i could do, i did, rest it was all up to the supreme. actually i just got up with great difficulty to check this thread. as the mahatma said, a little fasting and some prayers will go a long way. (now i feel i can go back to eating halwas and coconut burfi. even though just before the fast i suffered a small heart attack and starved for one whole day in the ER. That is a different story but amercian doctors havenot tasted tiruchi halwa and delicious indian sweets.)

Prabhu ;---) I am as happy as you are! Let us celebrate. already i have shooted of emails to "friends" all over the globe. it is like rakkamma kaiya thattu style.
However, my belief is that, IR's efforts should be mostly supported by Indians and the whole of India should first appreciate before we expect other nations to enjoy our culture and arts, which is always for peace and devotion and not for conversion and aggression. That we must remember and let us not unnecessarily invite strangers who usually do not appreciate force like we used to all our history in India. Peace is a realization not a force.

Guys,
This effort of IR is not money minded. This is purely towards music.(Probably he spends more money for this).
The world center of music was talked about when he met Jeyendra Saraswati Swamigal and got his blessings.
Hopefully his effort get fulfilled.
I think they have English Version also.

If somone has brought a new meaningto music, it is IR. Look at India 24 Hours. It is such an original idea never heard before in my life. Even HTNI is dramatic as it is original. I think IR has composed his grand symphony like no other. Everyone these days can compose symphony, concerto and most follow conventions. IR has broken barriers of convention. Now with Thiruvasagam, he is bringing the message of peace and love to the world thru sheer traditional ideas hopefully in a nonconventional style as has been IR' tradition. I am not expecting Beethoven' 9th or Mozart' 25th or Beethoven' No.5 concerto, but something original in a style not heard before, but daring like India 24 Hours. I am willin to buy as many CDs as I can help! Today, there are atleast 2 million south Indians (nd maybe a few thousand north Indians) eagerly waiting to buy original CDs and non-film works of IR at ANY PRICE. I am for one.

Mr. concerned.
do u write like this
mind- rough draft- fair draft- cross check- key board- tfm page= and the output still being nonsense is a real testing time to ur sanity.
Sanity lies in effective arugument to the point discussed and not offending the writer.
Notes= chords.hope u got that if u r sane while reading this.
U have anything to say, be to the point discussed.
Your response really makes readers think whether u r talking about music or *****
