  Please don't bother much about MN. Even if IR scores music for the movie, it is all set to be a bomb at the box office. Kamal is a much glorified over-actor. A person who thinks he is very smart. I hate the artificiality he brings when he is talking. Kamal, VM all belong to the same category of Egoistic and oversmart morons.
  Most of the heroes like Kamal,RAjnikanth, Vijaykanth et all..must thank IR for their success. Imagine a Rajnikanth without "Podhuvaga En Manasu". Imagine what would've been the fate of Nayagan with music by Sankar-Ganesh or Chandrbose.
  Atleast Rajni keeps his mouth shut(I'm not talking about poloitics). But our Kamal thinks that he is a genius. A person who thinks people will digest whatever pantomimes he does in the name of acting.
  Most of his movies are just lifts. MArudhanaygam is going to be a poor man's "Braveheart". And I can bet it'll be a bigger flop than "Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja". The people of TamilNadu are just not ready to consider historical films like that.
  Well, Historical..!, my foot. Knowing Kamal from his movies, there'll be atleast 2-3 kissing scenes, and atleast one scene of nudity, considering the rumoured starcast in the film (not to forget , Kamal is the hero and he's been yeraning to do such scenes). It'll go to our censor office. ANd the kizham-kattai there will truncate those scenes, and the problem will continue..
  
  And talking about the movie going to Oscars, well, less said, the better.
  
  Altogether, as IR's HCF, I'll be really happy if IR doesn't work for this senseless waste of Resources, also known as MN.

  I wouldn't attribute the success of Rajni and Kamal ONLY to IR. Of course, IR played a very important role in the success of their songs which in turn popularized them. But, as Vimal said, Kamal is a person who thinks too much of himself and he is going to meet his Waterloo (he is no Napolean, though) with the flop of MN. Only then he will become normal and concentrate on making films like "Mahanadhi" and "Kurudhippunal" and so on. But, Vimal - don't you think that IR's soulful music can be the only saving grace for this movie? In the "IR's new albums" thread, one Mr.IsaipiLLai has given a news that he has got info. from a reliable source that IR has been dropped from this project. If that is true, the only hope for this movie is also lost.

  i guess kamal is obsessed with being the all-in-all man. but i still feel that we should give hime a fair chance.
  if not MN someother movie will definitely make it to the oscars and kamal will get his fair due one day.
  my only hope is that he teams up with mani(ratnam) once again and does some meaninful stuff.

  He just goes around imitating greats of the western movies. Since he is different from the run-of-the-mill guys in our land, people think he automatically qualifies for international glory. If anyone from TF filed who deserves international acclaim and recognition, it is IR IMO.

  Well, We could be debating here w/o knowing the complete facts.. Probably IR could have turned down due to schedule problems or he does'nt want to score for someone who chose to use other MD's for all his recent films..or Kamal did not pick IR for some other reasons.

  I echo your thoughts ! Kamal is just another Deva when it comes to ethics. If somebody acts as a pig in a Hollywood hit, a year later , he will definitelty try it in tamil and claim it as his own creative idea !
  
  He is tremendously talented - No doubt. One of the finest actors TF ever produced, but that does'nt afford him to claim other's ideas as his own.

  it's not just Kamal. there's a bunch of 'em in TF industry, who aspire for the Oscar. I even heard somewhere that Jeans was to be sent. It sounded like djkhl.. stuff. Thank heavens, it was not sent. BTW, I dont mean to view the TF movies as mediocre ones, nor do I imply that the Oscar is the ultimate meter in gauging a movie's quality. All I'm trying to convey is, "dont send mediocre/copied movies just for the sake of sending some movie on TF's behalf, and pass a wrong message across". These guys dont do justice for the money we pay for a movie; but atleast, let them save us some embarrassment by not sending wrong movies to an event that most of the Western world pays attention to.

  It is thoughtless postings like yours that undo all the good work done by the other IR fans here. I can understand your frustration, but I definitely cannot accept or condone it. Should Kamal end up in the streets just because he has better business sense than to use a forgotten genius ? If everyone in the TF industry were to run their business on nanri/gratitude etc., indeed, they would all be in the streets. Would you miss one pay-check to listen to IR's songs ? Think before you post man. I have every reason to be upset with you because people like myself and Raj are forced to spend hours here defending IR and his fans only to be left speechless when some one accuses IR fans of precisely such maddening posts. Couldn't you find any other way to express your indignation ? Every time I say something in defense of IR or his fans some smart-aleck comes along and points out a post like yours. Heck man, I've even argued that people like you are only emotional and simply lack the talent to write flowery and attractive posts. But I have only been deluding myself. People like you care two hoots for DFers like me. Because when someone's imagination runs away on IR's copied songs, we're left holding the baby. You only bring IR a bad name in this forum. Clean up your act Vimal or you will continue to be directly responsible for the misery of other IR fans.

  Maybe it's not as popular these days. I actually meant and shud've said '..embarrassment by not exporting their ideas back to them!'. BTW, I too dont care much about the Oscars! :-))
  
  There's no doubt that Kamal is a talented guy. Take Avvai Shanmugi. Although copied, he adapted the idea very well to give our sort of story.( Oh.. oh... am I justifying Deva here?! Hope I dont sound like that! :-))) But, can it be sent to Oscar just b'coz of that? If, as someone said, it's true that MN is based on the lines of Brave Heart, then I would rather that it's not even considered to be sent to Oscar. BTW, I have a doubt. I remember this guy has been saying that the making of Ponniyin Selvan was his dream project. When did he think of starting MN? If it's after Braveheart, I have no doubts about MN being an adaptation of BH. Any guesses?

  I feel that Kamal is turning into a camel. He must take a vacation to the deserts and think deeply what he had done to his relationship with IR for gaining short-term popularity by ignoring IR and going after camels.
