No...PARDESI....PARDESI...of Raja Hindustani is very different from...KURUKKU....But I am a regular listener of PAKISTANI urudhu songs and ARR has used certain beats from JUNOON'S album PARVAZin SANGAMAM...Varaga nadhi...Also he has used lots of bits from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan...old albums....you can call it inspiration from the MOSQUE.....A.AHMED...

Songs Swasamae, injirango and athini chitni are good in tenali. specially injirango grows on you.
Original music lover...none of your comments about ARR copying is true...I do not understand what u guys get out of bashing ARR. I have listened to history and raja hindustani and these songs are no were close to the songs you mentioned...I can give you instances of other MD's using the same beat in more than 1 song..are you ready to accept then other MD's copy too.

KRM,
I cant believe you are trying to have a meaningful discussion with these ARR "critics". That is simply not going to happen.

injiringo, injiringo
Though the song is catchy, the brass score are very close to "Meh ho don" from Don
and some parts are very close to "Nan polathavan"
Is it right to call it an Inspiration! :)
Also the saranam scores has same old "jumbalaka jumbalaka" guitar notes. It is a perfect example of "code reuse"
There is rumor that "jumbalaka jumbalaka" was done by a person called "Praveen Mani" (Arr's pal who supplies him samples from here),
I feel this song was also done by him.
it seems he also did some parts in shakala baby.
High time Arr wakes up from his "webber" dreams! and start concentrating on tamil music, if at all he cares.

I remember seeing a Rehman website (.nu domain) which mentions the sample CD for alangkati song. ARR did not use the sample as is, he has used the beginning melody and beats. The instruments are different.

Dear friends KRM&AHMED, I LIKE YOUR serious interest & reply.KRM has finally agreed about other MD"S are also copying. So agrees that ARR also copying and justifies it.But ahmed says ARR copies from JUNOON AND OTHER URDU SONGS.MR.AHMED.,& KRM sangamam song "varaga"is actully from Thyagaraja kirthana "Dheenadhayalane..,"His recent song "Theemthanana"from Rythm is utter copy from IR song "mundhee mundhee vinayagane"from Veera.

ARR also copies fromm his own tunes like..,"thandyaa."song is similar to "manoothum mandhayile..,"from kilakku seemayile."enna vilai alage" from "thangapathakathin mele"from Thangapathakkam tamil movie."patchai kilikal tholodu" copy is "chuthy chuthy vanyhieha"from padayappa.

My dear original music lover&Anti piracy....
Let me correct you.....
Sangamam....Varaga nadhi starting is definitely like MKT's Dheena Karunakarane....But the manam jallu...jallu....lines are copied from Parvaz beats..
Thanga padhakkathin mele song from film Engal Thangam.Theemthanana is not a copy and ARR never copies IR tunes for certain....

And one more
Chuthi chuthi Vandheenga is directly inspired from old tamil hit THARA..tara Vandhara....Sangadhi eadhum sonnara....exact repetetion...a.a.a.

Ahmed,
...ARR never copies IR for certain... I think so. If done so, he would have joined the elite list of Deva, SAR and few Hindi MDs. Hmmm. Might be the reason either he lifts from some MSV tunes or gets inspired from Alban/PG albums.

I heard many rumors that ARR copies music from other sources such as Dr.Alban and many more.. i deny this as ARR use his own creativity to create musical sounds as for the film. When a Good Song arrived.. we buy and listen .. when it comes to criticised.. all of us went on together saying the person duplicate it... is it a good music enthusiats policy..??? Neway what i strongly saying here is non of ARRs musical creation is pirated or duplicate.
Original Music Comes From the Root Of Pure Intense!...

don't tell..inspiration maa.in injirango,he uses
brass and backup trumpets.Let's say,if u know how to play any musical instruments,ur not completely
going to do ur own creation, for God's sake of course u a going to copy atlease a little from other composers.Don't UNDERESTIMATE ARRAHMAN n he's a professional.

kevin, no one underestimated him,
the brass sound in injidingo..sounds like the don song.
also using samples is not easy, it an art, getting an perfect sample and making them loop in a particular tempo etc , adding efts all requires a good amount of knowledge. It not like copying a word document.
Arr is a master in handling samples!....

...ARR never copies IR for certain...
ahmed & STS,
ARR's 'maanoothu mandhayile' from 'kizhakkuch cheemayile' is a lift from IR's 'vaadi en kappak kazhange' (alaigaL Oyvathillai).
'kaNdu koNden kaNdu koNden' is similar to 'chinnak kaNNan azhaikkiraan' (might have been 'inspired').

Chinna kannan...and Kandu Kondene are from same Karnataka Ssngeetha Raagam....I do not know the exact....Nattai kuriji....or Some Raagam starts with M....Many film songs are there in this Raagam under MSV--PS combination....Source of a.a.

I doubt that stuff about 'maanoothu mandhaiyilE'. I am also the opinion ARR never has anything to do with IR.
'devils advocate' - I fully agree on samples & ARR. He also knows hot to customise them for the tamil/hindi audience. In fact, customising POP beats for the indian audience is the major contribution of ARR to film music.

a.a,
chinnak kaNNan is in raagam 'reethi gowLa'. (i read this somewhere. i don't know anything about carnatic music.) i dont know the raagam of 'kaNdu koNden', but even to a layman like me, it sounds very similar to 'chinnak kaNNan'.
kiru,
listen to the songs 'vaadi en kappak kazhangE' & 'maanooththu mandhayilE' once again. the starting tunes r almost exactly the same.
IR's music is so haunting that it's very difficult for anyone who has heard his tunes not to get inspired by them. ARR is no exception, even though he is trying hard to be as different from IR as possible. IR may be a convenient source for hfm MD's, but tfm MD's have to be careful not to lift his tunes, as we know the original songs. that's why they have to turn to sources like Dr. Alban & Peter Gabriel.
