Titles Given To MDs

I'd like to discuss about (and get more info on) the titles that are conferred to various MDs.
eg. Maestro, Isai Gnani, Isai Puyal, etc etc.
What titles do all the significant MDs of tfm have? Who gives them these titles? What do they mean in the career of these MDs? How far do the MDs go in acknowledging (and using) these titles and accepting them, and how much of these are used for merely marketing?
And finally the issue I'm rather interested in. How far are these titles used by the fans of these MDs and what this usage signifies.
Of course this topic can also be extended for singers as well as other artistes. However, my first priority is to discuss about the MDs' titles.

  s0, great article. The epitome of pettiness. The lavishing of titles on Music Industry greats need to placed upon the backdrop of such events to make sense of it all. Tis has become a cultural norm in TN these days.
  Tis seems like the modern day equivalent to those ancient days when poets used to sing praises of the kings and will be richly rewarded for their adulation.

  The only difference is: The poets took their "gratuity" from the kings and went about their business, mostly invisible. These days the poets get maha-upset with the Kavithisandthat is omitted from their name. They talk back!! :-)

  OISG, this is amazing, but true. I jus looked up the numerology for MAESTRO. It is 26!! The worst possible number for anyone. It has 8 vibration and is ruled by saturn (sani). Holy cow, the curse of Maestro, especially when referred as 'Maestro' on it's own. "Illayaraaja" has a 7 vibration and is not too bad, esp in a creative field. "Isaignani Illayaraaja" has a 1 vibration (Sun) and tat wud make him the leader in his profession.
  I checked up AR Rahman. It is 21 and has a 3 vibration. As ARR is a no. 6 person, 3 is supposed to be unlucky for him, according to some theories. But 3 is not too bad on its own. But i've heard the same story tat the Muslim priest named him 'AR Rahman' without giving any explanation for what A and R stood for, but it was later expanded out by someone else.
  For those of u who cud not make head of tail out tis post, my apologies. But OISG, ur numerologist friend has a point.
