RajaG,
Regarding point 4).If you see in older magazines(during 80s and very early90s)when reviewing TFM in a film there was just a general review of whether it was good or bad.Nowadays we have any Internet site allotting one paragraph atleast for each song(esp for songs of ARR and IR).
Does your B. statement conclude that musically knowledgeable people would like only IR?If you take this TFMpage we have musically knowledgeable people like fan and udhaya appreciating ARR's music and analyzing his music.
Regarding point 7).I think I'm right and wrong.People are appreciating lyrical content in some of ARR's songs and perversions are less than IR's songs.Note that VM has won 2 National awards in 9 years.Other MDs lyrics are worse I agree.
Regarding negative 3)Deva and SAR do a lot of copying. When it comes between ARR and IR,we know both have been inspired.
Regarding negative 4) I quite agree with you though VM's work for ARR is unmatchable in post-Kannadasan period.

fan (srikanth) ran away somewhere, he is afraid of swamiji who knows more music than him.
what Rajag has posted is 100% true,
IR rules arr fools.

i am not going to talk about music here because talking music here (in tfmdf) has become an indicator of senselessness (= insanity). tamizh: that i can talk about! to say that vm's thamizh after arr's entry lifted tfm songs from the nadir that the cronies of ir footlickers had pushed them in to ... there are a couple of famous tfmpage-quotes: "thAngaladA sAmi", "adap pOngappA". the only song half well written by vairamuthu for an arr album is "veNNilavE veNNilavE viNNaith thANdi varuvAyA". in that song too, he shows a complete lack of understanding of the situation and ends up writing a song about seduction! these are the torchbearers of mainstream literature/culture! "thAngaladA sAmi".

Trend,
We have agreed on many things, but I must say your post here was unwarranted. Let this thread be about the symphony. Debates have their own place in their own threads. I know you're trying to make a point but when you list people's names they become the target of subsequent posts that further steer the discussion away from the thread's theme.
gokul,
Srikanth has composed three complete albums that I know of (perhaps more)to date and is still composing. Go to MP3.com and check them out. Where are swamiji's compositions? If there are any, I haven't heard and neither have you I bet.
I don't want to get into who has more knowledge, that's not what this thread or this forum's about. If you see a point of view you can't stomach, then come out and say something against it. Just denigrating individuals isn't making your point. It just publicizes your lack of class.
Attack views, not the people. If you can't back up your views, latch on to someone who voices your feelings like many do here.
Guys, check out the thread about John Scott's letter, we are closer to figuring out the symophony riddle, we should all be rejoicing with this news instead of trading petty insults.

Udhaya,
I'm sorry again.I didn't think it would come to this loop.
Gokul,
Your opinions were very immature. How could you write something like this?
Fan,
I'm sorry again.I didn't think someone would pass
comments like this.
Guys,
I take full responsibility for what happened here.I think I will stop now to make all your time more worthwhile.Meanwhile, let me get back to my long neglected responsibilities(my work).

I am sorry about what happened. Fan is my friend, and I didnt wish to get into an argument on who knows more. Thats exactly what I wanted to avoid. Nor do I claim i know more about music (than anyone here in this thread). We merely kind of staged an argument that would bring forth different viewpoints. Well, gokul did make a wrong comment - that is not neccessary.

dear fans of the greatest of indian film music,
I quite agree with you that tamil music has improved from phase where lyrics were more of sexual sounds and english words( Thanglish?) after ARR 's combined with VM.But guys & gals dont u forget those golden melodies of the early 90's and 80's where IR ruled with strong help from VM'S wonderful pen work.still more, As far as IR'S Symphony is concerned please do not think it as AR or Ire .should be proud to say that we are all part of that soil from where an ordinary village person with no initial formal training in music, come to create symphony with the most acclaimed orchestra in the world whre the likes of BACH,MOZART,BEETHOVEN are being played. Hats off to Raja for making those westeners look high upon us .
Arun
