  Everyone knows that the only MD in tamil to know almost all styles of music is IR. He, the supreme being in the realm of music is the only able person to render a beautiful mix of all, soulfully. Maruthanayagam - as we can all understand is the story of a warrior set in the backdrop of Madurai city and allied villages. It is understandable that the English men are to feature in this picture and hence we will need:
  
  Western classical - as BGM score for the scenes involving English
  
  Carnatic - as it is going to be set in an age when carnatic was a rage
  
  Persian - to include some of the muslim types of songs as the hero is a muslim
  
  Folk - as the backdrop may include villages too.
  
  March - as it is going to involve cavlry and all other items of military.
  
  I personally feel that only IR has all these in hand, leave apart his own style.

  one of my friends went to
  IR's studio around aug 10th
  or so. he saw IR singing
  the title song for marudha
  naayagam. so i am sure that
  IR is the MD for this film.
  no one on earth can do a

  My friend has contacts with Mr.Vasan who writes songs for IR. Vasan has been given a song for Marudhanayagam by IR. Also IR seems to have given the song to Palanibarathi also. He will select one of these two.
  I do not feel any surprise in Kamal's Kuttikaranam. IR is obviously the all time best BGM endorsed by every MD(Including Naushad who was the MD for Rajkaboor). Kamal took a right decision.

  ACCIDENTALLy stumbled upon this SITE.
  gOOD TO HEAR ir IS md FOR mARUD.
  
  BTW, Sathya, if u mean raj kapoor when u say rajkaboor, i'll have to challenge ur claim that
  naushad was raj kapoor's MD.Only four MD's in all worked for films directed by Raj kapoor-they were :
  1. Ram ganguly
  2.Shanker-Jikishen
  3.Laxmikant-Pyarelal
  4. Ravindra Jain.
  Ofcourse ,Naushad is an alltime great and his approval does hold in Raja's cap of honour.
  
  Secxondly, I have to express my wisjh that lankathas's wish doesn't come true-namely,
  vairamuthu doesn't again ,by any quirk of fate, come into raja's fold.God forbid!

  Pasupathi... Why do you say that ZH should be the composer, just because he is a newcomer to TFM ? And regarding the combo of IR and ZH, it sounds revolting. You can't compare that with 'Nothing but wind' 'cos HPC did'nt compose, he only played the flute to the tune of IR.

  What i was suggesting is, it needs a genius composer like IR and a exceptional performer like ZH or HPC to do the best. When the best combine, it is DTS in a headphone.

  Is it ZH or IR or both? Could somoene please clarify. It will be good if IR cut an album with Zakir Hussain, just like he did with HPC. Zakir is US based and is world famous 100 times more than HPC and even more famous than Zubin Mehta. It will be in the interests of Kamal's Oscar hopes to have Zakir work with IR and cut a soundtrack album.
  
  This should be like LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, with a fantastic theme music and Zakir' tabla should perform magic like it has never before. Only it is possible with IR.
  
  Another possibilty for IR to explore his world reach can be working with ANOUSHKA SHANKAR, Ravi Shankar's daughter. Yesterday i saw CNN's world beat where they were featured along withAsha Bonsle and other Indian pop artistes.
  
  THE MAESTRO SHOULD SUBLIMATE HIS CURRENT ENERGIES TO THE WORLD MARKET THAN TO INDIAN FILMS MUSIC.
  
  GO FOR IT RAJA. BECAUSE THE WORLD IS WAITING FOR YOU.
