Still how long you people are going to repeat the same symphony story , I don't know. Where is the CD or cassette?.
When such question is asked, then you people say that MSV, Subbudu has said bla bla bla etc. I am sure their knowledge about symphony is as good as mine.
A few weeks back, I was seeing UGC program in DD. They were saying about symphony and beethovan.
A symp. is like a house with four rooms. All these rooms have its own mood. A composer has to make entry into the first room where the entry should be pleasent. The next room is where you have all the enjoyment and here is where the Composer has to really score. Then the next rooms if of a different mood and the last room from where he exits should be marked with some appealing scores. I could understand and recollect only this. Might be right partially of completely wrong.
My point is has the public been given a chance to hear and evaluate the symphony. I learnt that it been critised from various quaters and that is why IR (said to be) is witholding its release. I am not againts IR . Even I am his fan. But, I have the right to know before I praise something. If some thing is said against the symphony by those who knew it then we should also listen to that. I have already mentioned it many times in this forum. If you say that you will only listen to the one that praises it then, it is a mad fan following.

Common friend;
I have answered to this question atleast 5 times. I donno why you keep hang just on this one point always. Since you are very much interested in knowing about this you can take up a mini-project on this to bring out the truth about this. People can't go beyond a certain point as no info. is available on this. This does not mean this should always be taken in the negative sense. MSV and Subbudu have probably heard it and gave their comments. All MSV fans, hopefully, do not go against MSV's beliefs. Their comments prove that IR has done something marvelous. We are not lucky enough yet to hear this wonderful piece. It is not a good thing to make nasty comments on something we do not know, right?

for many ir fans, I am required only to tell "SATCHI" for thambi IR's symphony, other than that I am an useless composer, who does not know to arrange, in tfm music was at his best only from 1976-1989.
Another person i know who heard the symphony was big Brother subudu, he is a better "satchi", after all he is the only person in tamil nadu who has heard and evaluvated tons of western classical music for us in the past.

Flifo,
I did search in the internet for IR's symphony. For my dismay, I only found dozens of sites which praises IR for this but none has taken an initiative to find what has happened really. I visited the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra site through yahoo search engine and I did not find anything mentioned about IR there. I left a message to them in their contact hyperlink
The email id is info@rpo.co.uk
The message is
---------------------
Dear sir,
I visited your web page with an idea to find an answer to what has happened to the Symphony that Music Director Ilayaraja from India was asked to compose for your orchestra.
Please excuse me if the matter above has got nothing to do with your organization.
If you knew the reason, please reply me back.
Expecting your reply with eagerness,
-----------------
I might look a bit childish (That's what my coleagues said), but I am really interested.
As far as me being an IR fan, it is 100% true. That does not mean that I can't question him or I should listen to all this craps. When I have the liberty to praise him from the depth of my heart ,then I do have the right to critise him for what I feel right. For that matter I did not critises him either. I am not like those mad followers of IR. I have stated this many times.

CF,
I remember checking out the RPO site a while ago.
There is a link on their site where they have listed the composers they have 'collaborated' with.
Raja's name is on that list.
Check it out.
Other than that, I am also eagerly waiting for his symphony. But, I am begining to lose hope.
....later

Fliflo,
In few of the cases cited here that I'm aware of,
people are just trying to make their posting more interesting by using a different pseudo-name.
If you read Comment's posting under different name i.e MSV and more fuel, the posting was more interesting and he was frank about what he is trying to convey and from which standpoint.
In your second list,in one of his postings Common Friend has clearly mentioned "previously SK".
It could have a damaging effect on people's posting(it may become more unhealthy like mine) if you accuse a few people undeservingly(My English Grammar is weak).
If you can, stop accusing people and just respond to their postings

Pal;
I don't remember I have used that here. I wish to see whether I have posted anything on that name....How did you end up with that name, by the by.
One of the guys asked a question and answered himself (or) probably two guys have used the same computer one after one in a span of 4 minutes with a question and corresponding reply. Whatever, that was a fun.

I agree with you. But coming with hell lot of names is unnecessary to emphasize something. I am just not talking about comment. One guy in one of the posting appeared to support IR and in the following post supported ARR with a different name. His sole aim would have been to confuse people and have a good game here. Some people do not stand arguements, come with different names from different terminals (as if 10 guys argue) and try to emphasize and have win. Some other guys are generally soft in arguments and if they want to hit the opponent more strongly, I mean with bolder words, they retain the present identity and come with a different name.
Any way good game is on. I was certainly not blaming anybody by posting this list.

"unnecessary to emphasize something" like ir is great or arr is waste.
or ir is waste msv is great.
if this done by one name or multiple names....who cares....

`seems like "Friends" songs are really good in the movie unlike on the CD...`
CD and cassettes are doing very well. Just read some earlier reviews
One more
IR is a music creator. ARR is a music modulator or refiner. A music creator can not be compared with a refiner for any sake!!
