:) Yes, I was in Australia, used to be a regular forum'er a couple of years ago... And no, I'm not G Suresh. It's Suresh Purushothaman, and I'm now right here in Singara Chennai.. (did you mail me sometime back? and did you receive my reply??)
Kooththan
Rudraiah also made relatively less significant "Gramathu Athiyayam" which music fans will recognise for the song "Aathu mettile oru paattu kaekkudhu"
Vijay
"Kanna Unnai Thedugiren" is a remake of the Malayalam superhit "Sallaapam" (1996?), and stars Suvalakshmi with a newcomer Sathyan in the lead. It is directed by debutante P A Selvaraj who is apparently a writer credited with many hit screenplays. It has the potential be a surprise winner like "Kaathalukku Mariyadhai"

Why is it that when IR has had ego problems with 'several' people, IR has rarely ever spoken about it; and sundry morons from KB to KSR get away with passing insinuations in public fora?

SM!
The basic difference between Raja and others who probably had feud with him (one may be this KSRK) can be summarised as below:
***IR views music as ART & his LIFE and may not accept compromises forced by businessmen***
***The likes of KSRK view music and movie making a pure business and $$$ alone counts***
Matter being that simple, we should decide for ourselves which one we should back-up! I, for one, value art & creativity along with honesty and aesthetics much above money making - be it any trade:-)
Hmmm, drug dealers and illegal arms traders may probably make a lot of money in the world:-( To do that they may state: "xxxx may like__________(fill in the name of any great human) but not every one likes him"

May be we should write to Kumudham thro'
their web site(e-mail or something). I
think two years back, a couple of tfm
forum'rs wrote to Kumudham about the review
of Kizhakkum Merkkum in which some false
criticism was made on IR and it was published
in the magazine.
I wrote to Kamal 2 years back thro' his web site about choosing IR as MD for Marudhanayagam and got a small reply from him.

I believe KSRK just said he didn't want to work with IR. That's his loss but that doesn't mean, him deciding not to work with IR is entirely wrong. That's his decision and let him live with it. His movies are not that kind that deserve a IR.
As for IR not bad-mouthing these people, that shows his greatness. But even IR did say something wrong about VM. In some function while referring to Kannadasan, he praised him and said, "ippa paattu ezhudharavanga ellam kannapinnannu ezhudhuraanga. andhi mazhai pozhigiradhu ovvoru thuLiyilum un mugam therigiradhu appadinnu kurudan paadura maathiri ezhudhuraanga" even though he tuned that song and what a great song it was!!! But even IR is human and sometimes he says something like this. So, sometimes such things happen.
eden, I do back IR. But I won't say it is entirely wrong for some people to view music and movie making as business. That is their perspective. We don't know what is their need for money. Of course, they should not (and they don't) claim themselves as "kalai kaavalargaL";-)))) And, let us not glorify their stupid statements against this music genius.

INTERNATIONAL COMEDY:
--------------------
ARR says in this week's Kungumam (9/4/2000):
"Naan yaarudaya paadalgalayum copy adikkavillai! Hindi MD'd thaan ennai patri kurai sollikkonde EN ISAIYAIK COPY ADIKKIRAARGAL"
Means : I nver copied from anyone but all the Hindi MD's who criticize me saying that I am recycling are copying my music!
Further he swears that : "Naan yaarai paarthum copy adikkalai" angrily!
NB : Subbudu's remark on ARR's Direct Lift of some song in Sangamam - Rahman seidhadhu nyayama endru avaraye ketkiren and he refers some Bengali song and asks ARR for nyayam!!! Little knowing the level of the Copycat!
God should save Tamil rasigargal from these people!
Vedhanayudan,
Vijay.

Please stop posting in all the threads even if the posting is extremely important. We browse every thread to see new discussions/info/arguements. It will be a dissappointment if we find the same content in all the threads.
Thx

Hi all,
Did u all hear the recent 'kanna unai thedugiren' by IR. It is a good buy i think. Coming back to the KSRK issue, he is a person who is not known for either his directorial or music sense. In fact, he is one person who worked with several other MD's and in fact got the same old tunes which were composed earlier and already used. And with all that he remarked in one interview that ' getting music from ARR is like getting tiger's milk, and even though it is tough it will become a hit. He is a third rate and a lousy director who just harps on the star cast of his movie and makes it a hit. In fact his movies are not known for any good music. If we listen to 'sakthivel' (music by IR)' it has a wonderful song 'malliga mottu vetkatha vittu' which was an excellent melody. Little does he know about music. With all his ignorance, why can't he atleast keep his mouth shut. Here people are not running behind ARR or any other MD's just for the sake of music. They want to have a marketable asset added to the movie just that. If ARR's name is present in a movie they think it is just saleable. And with all that hype, even the lousiet of songs becomes popular, that's all. I would recommend all to read the article in kumkumam, where ARR has defended the similarity between his songs. If just within 50 odd movies if he is not able to give clean music, then think about the stuff, that will be for his 100 th movie. But atleast by that time, i pray that these lousy directors like KSRK wither away, and we have some good directors who appreciate good music. I will write more about tracing the change of buying attitude among the so-called music fans and what makes the mediocre MD's thrive in their businesses.

It reads:
MUSIC
Music in India is a vast endless combination of forms, instruments, principles, performers and histories.
The variety of music from the folk, classical, hindustani and the latest pop is innumerable and leaves one
dazed to hear it. Music adds glamour to the otherwise streo type Indian movies.
PANDAVAS has its music set to tune by the music maestro Ilayaraja, a composer/director of great repute and
who has scored music for 1000's of music for south Indian movies. The songs in PANDAVAS have a message to say
to the present generation.
There are four songs and played in important landmarks of the movie.
Way to go IR ! Thx Krish ! ( ithu varai vantha paathaiyai vida innum neeLamaana paathai :-))
