  Hi all,
  Both AZHAGKI is excellent....IR's music and the appreciation for it seems to grow every other song you listen. AZHAGKI is just growing up in me each time i listen (Maestro could have however avoided that KURUVI KUDAINJA folk song, lyrics were so bad)...I liked all the other songs by our maestro...great work...(romeos who are into techno sounds, pls keep away from AZHAGKI or KAASI...IR is not the man for you...IMHO)

  Kaasi disappoints! The lyrics are some of the most meaningful that you would come across in recent Tamil movies. But as the music itself, IR has does not have anything new to offer-this is disappointing especially since the movie had such a great scope for good music; I feel that the Malayalam version was better!

  Watched a movie "aatma" recently - The BGM is simply superb !!! The way IR starts the movie with violins is just awesone !!!
  
  The real problem with him right now is that he has lost his magic somehow - like the mighty carribeans. Because of that both cricket and tamil music suck big time nowadays.

  Its a good album - The songs are hummable even in the first listening ! Beautiful Lyrics - Particularly both the songs by Mu. Metha ! HariHaran does a good job, But lacks uNarchi in his voice - be it sogap paattu or sugamaana paattu, he sings in the sammmmmme way ! IR could have give ALL - I repeat ALL the songs to SPB !
  
  I agree with suresh - This can become another ChinnaThambi, I (still) have hope on TFM Listeneres :-)

  I have with me, an MP3 song by Raja/Gangai Amaren(not sure) called "Bukit Timah rottula Busstandile". It is termed in title as a local song.It is truly awesome.Can amyone pls point me to the album/details of song.

  forget about all those , just observe how mind blowing the music and background score of SETHU ..hats off to IR...i am not tamilian ,but a big fan of IR ....I cannot understand the lyrics..thanxs i can concentrate more on music...SETHU ...wow i say...always raja ...like the lyrics in agninatchatram....always raja....

  yeah ...i too am thrilled with SETHU's background music ....so apt for the situations...its damn easy for IR to compose music...we could sense the ease with which he composes extra ordinary music...IR is undoubtedly the world's No1 quality music director....so much output from one single brain ...for so many year ..right from 1974 i think ...its 2002 now ....still going on great quallity and success also.....No one can overtake him....yeah indeed he is always RAJA ....

  The charanam ending leading to pallavi of "Oliyile therivadhu " from "Azhagi" seems to me to be similar to "Pallikoodam pogalamaa.." from Vijaykanth movie(movie name please?).
  Is it just me or does anyone else feel the same way?

  Kaasi is quite different in the sense that it is very native/folk...a rarity now-a-days. Only IR can do this without fearing failure. Keeping in mind the central character of the film and a Keralite as a director i feel IR has done a commendable job. Atleast 2 songs will become popular.
  
  I find Hariharan more controlled in this album and he is good. Somehow, could sense a more serious HH.
  
  Only IR can be this simple and yet good. The songs are certainly better than the original Mal movie. Something tells me that the film Kaasi is going to be a hit.

  ...lyrics are simple and very meaningful and certainly don't embarrass one if listening with their near and dear ones. I'm happy with the lyrics of both Azhagi and Kaasi.

  Kasi songs are really very good lah.What a Raja.Nice job by Hariharan.IR is always a genius to music industries.The one and only Musical Maestro which one India ever produce.Sad new is there is nobody who can replace IR place.Hopefully Raja son's can do?We see lah...!!!Azhagi songs is very nice tooo.

  Kasi seems to be an average one to me. Because i expected a lot more by the maestro. I hope these songs will be great when coupled with situations of the film. But where the great melodies of IR gone? I wonder. I think he is frustrated nowadays.Also i feel that he missed in the middle of the songs even though he started well. Songs seems to be slower. Ok. Let me wait for another great performance of him.

  That is the view of 99.9% of tamilians all around the world, first of all IR used to give all excellent tunes to Mano, who butchered 99 % of the songs, then he gave all the nice tunes to the ***NASAL*** hariharan, who sings like "Kutruyir (half-dead-person)", i do not know why IR is doing this, has he lost his sense???

  I agree with you - May be producers force IR to do this ? Now they are advertising like 'ONLY movie with all songs by HariHaran' , They can't do this for SPB, Can they ? :-)

  I am very eager to watch the film, in which "mUngililE " song featured, superbly rendered by the greatest SPB!!!, it is T.Rajendar film, can you help me with the name of the film, thanks.
  
  There was another song by SPB, it goes something like "avanukku thaan theriyum, oru arambhamum athan modivum, ada yarukkama theriyum athan vedikayum athan vizhaivum, nee kettathum odane kidhaikathu", It could be SPB + PS combination, Can you please tell me which film this song is from???

  Kaasi is a little disappointing. I think the village singer "Chinna thambi" was one hundred times better than the village singer Kaaasi. IR has given simple and neat tunes for Kaasi. Hariharan's singing has no azuththam (as always) and has a serious malayaala vaadai. I personally prefer Srinivas, Harish, UKrishnan, UMenon over Hariharan.
