why should'nt IR be called ''THE'' indian film music composer of the century

the only composer with incredible versatality,matchless in quality,i think he should be rated as ''THE'' indian film composer of the century.what do u feel guys?

  In this universe you find a composer who has composed anything evenly remotely close to these absolutely impossible compositions:
  
  Kannale Kaadhal by KJY & SJ in Aaathma
  Indiraro Chandiraro by IR in Avadharam
  Engum Niraindha KJY & SJ in Idhu Eppadi Irukku
  That one duet in Raasayya! also:
  Sembaruthi Poove by Mano / Sunandha in Sembaruthi
  O Nenjame Idhu Un Raagame in Enakaha Kaathiru
  Velli Nilave by SPB & UR in Nandavan Theru
  
  
  then i will tell u that IR should be not, be called (forget the no.1 business), called the God of all Music known and the unknown. The Genius has a parallel to the Man Who Knew Infinity (Ramanajun) Those songs above has got some high level mathematical design, if you listen to those songs. Impossible songs.
  
  Forget this ARR, HJ and other novices!
  
  That is my challenge to all music lovers in the forum. Find me songs like the above anywhere be it Mozart or Beatles or RDBurman...

  that is the difficult part, how to explain the music in mathematical notations. There was one guy who could have, but he is dead and gone leaving behind about 4000 theorems that even today has the greatest mathematicians unravelling and applying the math in the filed of telecom, the string theory (only Ramanujam has got the numbers 10 and 24 to prove the string theory!!!) I think Ilayaraja and Ramanujan have used the same inexplicable sakthi to reach to the final frontiers of math and music. Believe me. The music is impossible so is the math. Because the largest ever concerted effort to unravel any one human beings efforts was that of Ramanujan remainder 2/3rd mathematical works (since 1974). About 3000 mathematical discoveries that found applications in computer science, cancer research, teleco and space tecH!

  Back to the topic, the answer is plain and simple. IR cannot be called "THE" music composer of the century because he simply isn't.

  i agree that taste differs from person to person. But only in our state that hero worship is making manidhans brain mazhungals. It is every body's knowlege that the 1950 to 1970 era of hindi films are the golden moments of indian cinema. Till to day nothing has beaten it. And it is a laughable matter to award the century composer who could not get his music heard in the country other than tamilnadu or at the most in south. Even in tamilnadu the musi composers of like G,ramanathan ,a.m.raja ha given better music.

  IR and ARR are gems of our tamilnadu and we shud be proud of having them both in almost the same generation....... I wish both of them rule the charts and the hearts not only inside tamilnadu border but across the border tooo.. if ARR cuts into chinese,Russian,London and US , IR captivates hungary, italy, US .........

  thank u for ur very decent disapproval. but at the same time u yourself admitting that tamilians were listening to hindi films before the arrival of IR. that is wat i want to emphasis he is heard only in tamilnadu.he could not conquer other parts and cant be deserved to be called the century composer of india. and once again i request u to listen to A.M raja'S music. it was for very few films only but a very different and enduring similiar to salil chaudry.

  rs, Kumudam's opinion can't be considered universal. I really don't see any foundation to the statement that IR made the tamils listen to tamil music from hindi. Just ridiculous. Popular hindi songs were heard all over the country and so were heard in Tamil Nadu also. And that's true to this day.
  
  100's of movies were released in Hindi every year. Do you mean to say all tamils were listening to the songs from those movies and not from Tamil films? First of all, we never had access to Hindi Film Music majorly other than through AIR. I don't think people of Tamil Nadu went out of their way to buy all the Hindi film music.
  
  Probably the person that wrote like that in Kumudam was one such person and it's possible that hundreds like him are out there. But that should not be taken as a public opinion. It's true that IR's music brought a breath of fresh air to tamil music. But so did the music of many MDs who remained talented to keep their charm for many years, in different times.
  
  And IR's fresh air stopped its flow way back in early 80's. What happened after that was just a rehash of sordid tunes and mundane interludes. Thank God for giving us ARR and bringing in a rush of new MD's henceforth!

  welll what i have heard is , that in our tamilnadu ppl went so crazy after hindi songs like bobby, hare rama hare krishna (dum mere dum)
  
  and after the golden era of msv-tr.. in 1970's i guess the standard of songs came down.... (as i am only 25, i am just tellig my personal opinion ...... )i didnt like most of their 1970's songs..... it was either pathetic (the mood of the song and nto the quality) or largely influenced.. IR's songs came with a fresh air and captivated the ppl's hearts who were desperate for a change.... this is what i believe ........

  hehe thanx for showing ur ignorance in film music..just close your eyes and useless disturbances in ur mind and listen to the bgm of aboorva sagotharargal (esp title song)........ i have nothing else to say, there are countless songs and bgms but at the moment i am crazy about the title song of aboorva sagothargal
