  I read in dinamani that 'Solla maRantha kathai' is a diwali release - so we can expect the cassette in a few more days ...
  
  Just curious - Will thangar bachan say NO to Sadhana Sargam this time atleast ? (After all, he says proudly that all 50 artists in his movie know 'proper' tamil - So, why sadhana in the music department alone ?)

  ANYBODY LISTENED KEENLY TO 'ULLAGAME..'SONG Of IVANN....WOW WHAT A SONG !! HATS OFF !! ORCHESTRATION AND INSTRUMENTS ARE SUPERB....JUST LIKE HEYRAM TITLE SONG INSTRUMENTS !! It would be great if raaja sticks to these instruments !!

  Songs to relish
  One standard requirement of ARR fans is that listen to the songs for atleast 108 times so that songs "grows" on you. But still how many non IR songs we can relish(even in lonely moment we just hum the tune and relax). Some of the examples are Ennullil engum(Rosappu ravikkaikari), Nenjukkulle(Ponnumani). So called catchy & peppy tunes die soon. IR is king in that.

  Yes. I listen to the song everyday in my car. I am hoping for more such compositions, but they have very little scope in commercial films. But I am hoping that many more will come in future if IR breaks free from film music.....

  heard 'solla marantha kathai' song samples. The album looks promising. for one thing, IR has let go of those techno orchestrations (except in 'Gundu Malli' and 'Etho Onnu'). I think the album may turn out to be another 'Paattu Paadavaa.'

  It's been worth the wait! I can't wait to buy the CD here in the US.
  Here are my initial thoughts, after listening to the teaser pieces in raaja.com.
  
  To summarize, 'Solla maRandha Kathai' is Classic Vintage IR!
  
  kAttulE
  Debutant Vidhu PratApan has a refreshing, sweet voice. Talented guy, who can teach a lesson or two to the Hariharans and Co on good Tamizh pronunciation
  
  Gundu malli
  
  Shreya Ghoshal makes a good follow-up to her debut with KR's ALBUM.
  The composition is vintage IR, taking you to the days of Man vAsanai and Kizhakku vAsal.
  And Shreya does seem to be a welcome addition to TFM. Her diction is pretty good and she brings in the nuances well, giving the right stresses on the words! Harish is good too. This sample makes you run to the music store to buy the album right away!
  
  All of IR's songs are folkish in nature, with their simple, soothing tunes with great acoustic arrangements, (nothing synthetic here) and he renders them with enthusiasm and renewed vigor. I especially liked his 'AmmA sonna ArirarO'. IMO he's sounding very young these days, as evident in the above song as well as in the RamaNa solo, 'VAnavillE vAnaillE'.
  
  JakkammA sathAm pOttu sirikkiRAdA.. seems to be a very interesting number to watch out for in the movie.
  
  EthO ONNu nenachirundhEn is another good melody. Though KArthik and BhavA do a good job, a versatile female singer would have done a better job. The interlude is very enjoyable.
  Lyrics for all the songs have been written by IR! Simple, meaningful and pithy!
  
  And I was pleasantly surprised by the 9th number from 'Johny', 'Asaya kAthula Thoothu vittu'. DeepAvaLi Bonus from Raaja.com :) ??
