The Fan,
What do u mean by saying "Dharma, poonthottam and senthuram are rare garbages from IR in his comeback trail"
Have u listened to meetAdha oru veeNai,vAnathu thAragayO and iniya malargaL from poonthottam and another song sung by Raja himself in senthooram???
meetadha is one of the best songs I have heard in reeti gowlai (other famous songs are chinna kannan azhaikkirAn and thalayai kuniyum thAmarayE)
I agree dharma is a junk movie and in the BGM also I didn't find anything attractive. But then check the scope for music in the movie. I do sometimes wonder why Raja accepts these kind of movies.

If someone has to say Senthooram songs as garbage I will not agree, Come on guys 'Alamaram Melamarum' is a great piece with nice interludes then there is nice solo by chithra 'siru marudhani poochu' something similar to 'mannan kurai senai' from siraichalai, IR himself has done a great job on 'chinna manikkaga' , the only mistake IR has done is wasted all his nice work for a flop movie.

Mr THE FAN:
"Dharma, poonthottam and senthuram are rare garbages from IR in his comeback trail. So, don't take things seriously."
rare garbages? Stop that!
"Now, comes Ponnuveettukkaran and Manam Virumbuthey Unnai. Superb compositions. Should pass off for the top pop rhythms of the century."
Now, I am an avid fan of IR music like anyone else, and I say Ponnuveettukkaran, MVU are garbage stuff!! Howzat? What was so big and different you found in Ponnuveettukkaran that you did not find in poonthOttam? If you call poonthottam a garbage stuff, I think your comments are aimless and puttering!! Well, you go subjective then, to say the least. His Dharma songs are excellent considering that he is scoring music for a movie that contains machines like Vijayakanth.
I was watching a horses*** of a movie called "kangaLin vArthaigaL" a remake of kannada hit "nammoora mandhAra hOOvE". The entire movie looked like a docu-feature. The hero din no what to say, do, and there was no way Raaja could do anything except dub those great songs of the kannada hit. Here again, you may love to watch the thamizh movie again and again, and thats subjective, but, honestly, on any day, no man can ever sit and watch this movie "kangaLin vArthaigaL". I wish I could yell at Raaja for signing such scum and trumpery, yet, I believe he would call it "contractual obligation". Now, no matter what, Raaja's signing of movies like Dharma, K vArthaigaL need to be rebuked...No gainsaying!!!
Here is my rating (recollecting all recent ones):
1. MVU
2. PoothOttam
3. Dharma
4. Senthuram
5. ponnuveettukkaran
(Hmmm...Punnyavathi, poonjOlai, etc., etc.)

i agree that IR's talent is wasted on flop movies.
i read in AV that ponnuveetukaaran did not even make it to the theatre.

sitaram,
the reason cited was Rs. 70 lakhs or so had to be paid to the lab for release and apparently no one did it.

I have bought senthooram and ponthotam, after seeing the good reviews sometime back. Senthooram is a waste of money. alamaram velamaram, chinna mannikku songs has nothing new to offer, and it reminds you so many of IRs other recent songs. IMO, all the bhavatharani songs from IR sound same. In Poonthom, meethadha veenai is a very good song, but all others are just dud.
Infact I am holding myself to jump MUV or other recent IR albums, after this and annan (other overrated album here).

e.hariharan,
that has always been the problem of reviews in TFMDF. i always request reviewers to be as much unbiased as possible. i had also suggested some guidelines for giving reviews.
no use saying 2 good songs 3 OK songs etc.
useful points like comparison with another popular song etc. can make the reviews interesting as well as help us come to a better decision as to buy the album or not.

hi guys,
here is hindu's review of desiya geetham
http://www.hinduonline.com/hindu/daily/981030/09/09300225.htm
hariharan's song has been mentioned as zestful.
the story of the film the way the reviewer has written it makes me yearn to see the movie at the earliest. will cheran replace manirathnam as
one of the most successful directors? let's see.
meanwhile i request some 'critical' reviews of the film album from felow TFM DF'ers.

Reviews are basically subjective. What one likes, another may not. Personally, I liked both Senthuram and Poonthotam songs. In Senthuram, a Malayasia Vasudevan song was good (I am not so sure of the lyrics though).

Its better you never buy any IR albums. They are always overrated here. Pls dont buy MVU because, there is nothing Raaja has got to offer you. Especially you....Raaja is a after all, a human being.
Vijay
Different people, different situations. There is no way one can be objective...pls read DSR's The Hindu review before buying...I mean, you will never buy.

IR please give me a break.
I bought thodarum yesterday.
Music by IR.
Beleive me guys it's a total trash.
Just because of IR's music I have been buying the CD's and cass.. now I have to think twice.
Though he has all the bludy talents why he can't give music that appeals to everyone now.
Better IR give good music or stop composing for the films.
This has been going for quite a long time.
Why can't he stop composing for films.
If he thinks people have to follow his style of music it's difficult.
Think about this, do you wan't the whole world to chane for IR or u wan't IR to chane for the whole world. Which of the one is easier????
Though being an ardent fan of IR I got relly irritated hearing thodarum.

for those who want to listen all(?) songs of MVU,
http://members.tripod.com/~newmovies/songs/index.html
i found a new song 'dheivam indru' in the site which did not feature in the cassette i bought! the song is rich in orchestration!
IR fans can sit back and relax!

Can someone verify the news about "Thodarum."
I hope it is not a trash as buddy mentioned.

Observer
The dheivam indru can't be from MVU. I have the CD and it does not contain the song.
I am sure that krishnaraj sings only for deva and the song is the recycle of deva's own singam onnu purapattathe from arunachalam.
Sama tune same orch. only the lyrics is different.
So I am sure that the MD is deva.

buddy! I'm confused. Is "Thodarum" by IR? According to Pyramid, It's by Deva. Check the home page under
forthcoming releases. The url is http://www.pyramidaudio.com

one of the singer, he must be the MD.

Buddy,
i don't know why krishnaraj cann't sing for IR? But if it is a recycle of DEVA's compostition i cannot imagine IR doing that. I hope it is not in MVU. But then which movie this song belongs to and by whom? DEVA?
