There are at least two songs with PBS/IR combo!
1. A hindi song in the film `Nandu'
2. `ThendralE nee pEsu, un kaNgaLAl nee pEsu, un mounam ennai vAttudhE'... (I don't know the movie, probably some Mahendran film)

I beg to differ with Sri Kanth's view. ARR IS NOT A CREATIVE MUSICIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His music is repetitive. He is a good musician but he is anything other than creative. "Kulivaliley mottu mannalo" from Muthu, "Naan ayirithil oruvan" from Iruvar, and "Suthi suthi" from Padayappa are all very similar. The man takes his old tunes and modifies it. He knows how to do this because he went to a music school. I am sure if I went to music school, I would know enough to take American tunes and make new songs or modify old tunes and make them into new songs. I agree with everyone who thinks that Deva is not a good musician but you guys don't listen to all his music. The beats from "Kurruku chirithaviley" is soooooo similar to the village song beats that Deva uses. Rahman also cuts and pastes too much and I am so bored with his chorus. He always has has some stupid sh_t in his songs. "Vane vane vane vane vane" from Mudhalvan is pathetic. Kannalane is a fantastic song and I give credit to Rahman for that but "Gumusimu gumisimu gumisimu" was unnecessary. Chitra's voice was beautiful and you didn't need other chorus sh_t in there. Has anyone hear heard "kabali ka ka kabali! kabali kabali ka ka kabali" and "seya seya seya seyarae" from Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalali in Muthu? I think you guys all know what I am talking about. The beat or the notes from "kabali kabali ka ka ka kabali" is the exact same in "Tara rum pum pum" in Jodi. The stupid fool is not creative. Obiviously, he has made a fool out of anyone who thinks he is creative!

Hi folks,
FOr the first we get to see IR's score for two songs in Dr. Balaji's new site, has any one seen that?
One for the song Adho Andha Nathiyoram from Ezhai Jaathi, a Vijayakanth/Jayapradha film. This is a song with very great symphony like orchestration with heavy strings and brass and, of course, haunting chorus bits in varied forms as solo and groups.
The other song is Pudhucheri Katcheri from Singaravelan.
Probably some of you guys who are more knowledgeable about music can throw more light on these and enlighten ordinary mortals like us.

"He has made a fool out of anyone who thinks he is creative!"...guess who? ARR is in big stage now to be pulled down. But once new directors begin to shift away from him, then YSR is the best choice. Maybe Director SHANKAR too, but wait time will answer us>>?

hai this is venkat!
this i type listening to ir's new album "sethu".the movie is fantastic and songs undoudtedly ###########################.(fill it up,it's the maestros, words are very poor to be filled). arr is a undoudtedly a good musician.but not a good composer.composers are a rare breed to find.like beethoven, bagh, mosart, and our own illayaraja to name a few.pls see the movie sethu.fantastic.i think as consumers of films we should arrange for some coaching classes for the some of the fools who call themselves as directors.see you.

Dear Illaiyaraja Fans,
I am also a great fan of Illaiyaraja. ARR is good, but he is not a genius like IR. Here are a few points:
1. That ARR is repetitive is well known, but he is copy cat too! He copies old tamil songs (see Padayappa for example.."kick eruthe").
2. ARR is no good in classical music (the so called classical song in Padayappa)
3. ARR survives b'cos hype rather than anything else.

Padayappa's "OHoHU Kicku YERuthey"(1) is antoher version of Iruvar's "Ayiratthil NAAn Oruvan"(2) especially
the part "Veeru kambankali thinanavanum mannukulle"(1) and
the part "antha ulaghai kathuvaitthan edthi udappen"(2)
Tell me if I am wrong!
Conclusion :
ARR --> good musician + good paster :(-
IR --> good composer + good music arranger! :)-

Subra,
Just for the info:
IR had been approched by Kamal first time and IR
did not want to do the music due to his loyalty
to Gandium. Then after L.S walked out IR walked in
to help Kamal.

Hello Fans ,
Please don't compare always IR with ARR.
We all should happy that both are Tamils.
Please read the ARR interview..how he shows
his Tamilian brotherhood.
Come man we should proud off that the best in
