Swami: There is only reason for non release of the SymPHONY -- it was not done, it is big white/red/green lie by IR that it was composed,
Thats all , trying to scarcastic in this issue, does not work out. Raja earned all the fame and name for the work he had not done/completed and he is still being honoured in this issue , and that too, when Other MDS (ofcourse ARR) has achieved more in real short time, is being critisized for every action they do.
Also regarding the Old ten issues, no one came up with any valid musical points,
Behind the wall: I have explained things to BB (I told him many points), I felt it is not worth discussing here because this will throw more acid on poor ARR!.....
I will probably tell you when you agree ARR is a great musician.
Arul as Rajag put it, I did not expect this from you, IR was given credit to all his actions inspite of his poor popularity, his new songs (eg:Guru -- no one has ever heard the songs others than IR fans here) was given a golden crown here (including me) So let us come to reality and enjoy music as music Mind it after all -- Music is not a religion.
Try to hear Arr score with more open mindness and heart.

ST, Srikanth!
This is not the thread to compare IR with ARR. Let us use other forums to discuss. Any way IR can not be compared with mortals like ARR.

Srikanth,
I dont understand your point. Why dont u just list down the 10 points and let people decide what they want to do about it. Similiar to the way u are doubting that raja did not compose the symphony just because he did not release it, many people here feel that u are not writing the 10 points because u don't have any. I don't feel that way and I'll really appreciate if u could list them here. In fact I was waiting for quite sometime for the remaining 9 points. In fact I feel that more muck would be thrown on ARR if u write ARR's 10 new things rather than IRs.
Enough has alrerady been said about ARR and IR in this forum, so your listing down the points is not going to change or worsen anything that has happened already.
BTW, u keep saying time and again that no one has heard Guru songs etc. Fine, it means that they are either ignorant, or don't give a damn about IR or simply plain losers. The fact that many in TN did not listen to guru does'nt take away anything from those brilliant compositions. U yourself have commended the songs, if i remember right sometime back. So why do u keep harping on the same point, that no one knows about guru, yaathramozhi etc.
In fact Iam feeling sad that many people would soon get to know know about mudhalvan, TIME, Taj mahal etc.;))

Vijay: I posted to Arul, he claims people here do not appreciate raja, that is not true, I just told him raja is being given the best honour on could get inspite the goofy symphony and not even releasing a single hit for the past few years.
Also coming back to 10 points, if you feel I do not have the 10 points, so be it. that does not affect me. Basically when I asked the question no one here came up with musical points.
Also I was moving out of chicago to seattle, so I have other pressure going on me, I
I felt the dam IR stuff can wait.
As mentioned before I told BB/Kumar aks Mr.K (he is gone to India) about it, I recevied few emails from people that I should not post it. (do ask me the emails, I do not have it in my inbox )
For your information regarding 'TIME', there are 2 real good song by Raja -- Nan tanga raja and Neram perandhadhu (a slow 3/4 score)
, infact I heard them more than 10 times! now, we are able to hear great counter point work, but other songs are very well below par.
"u keep saying time and again that no one has heard Guru songs " -- this is because I asked many in Madras to obtain this CD,no soul knew about it, this does not reduce the quality of the work. But the fact is guru is not a super hit as potrayed here.

Srikanth,
I don't think anyone said that Guru is a superhit here. The general opinion was it was one of the best or THE best album of IR to come out in recent times, to which I agree. I did'nt know that u received mails requesting u not to post the 10 points.
U have again got my point wrong. I did'nt say that u haven't got the 10 points. R4ead my post carefully. I have said thta many people have started feeling this way, I saw some posts which said that u perhaps did not have the points. I have clearly said in my post that I DO believe that u have the 10 points. I have also said that I waited for sometime for u to write the points.
So, I guess u did'nt read my posting fully as usual;))
Also, I STILL feel that u should go ahead and post the 10 points. I also think that many of the regular DFers like bb, MS, Udhaya etc. would feel this way. Tell me whom are u going to hurt by posting those 10 points? IR fans.. No way! And i dont think ARR fans give a damn. As far as Iam concerned, Iam interested purely in the technical aspects and nothing else. If u dont want to post still, let me know and I'll mail u.

hi rAjAG,
my writing that writing good about IR IS a taboo here doesnot necessarily preclude my opinion that writing good about ARR too results in mudslinging. for the record, only topics likd jff, rare hits of ir, kaNNadhAsan threads are without undue heat. it's sickening to see even the thread on SAR (whom i don't have any regards for) draws heated (?!?) comments.
srikAnth,
you wrote "IR was given credit to all his actions inspite of his poor popularity" and not poor quality :-)) got you. just kidding. yes guru was ok. to me ir has to come up with something much much more than that. (i am a pErAsaikkAran :-) ). "let's come to reality and enjoy music as music". that's a good point but in the process we should not breed mediocrity which is what unfortunately the state of tfm. btw, i am intrigued by the adjective "goofy" for symphony. i wonder if you had a chance to ... :-).
coming back to the topic, i have a hunch that the symphony will not be released. i only hope ir substitutes the unreleased symphony with something better than what we have so far heard from him.

Ok, vijay, since you have a point I will post some here, I will post more as an when.
2. Musical arrangements --- He was first person to score for musical instruments, meaning if raja gives a score for guitar, it would sound good only on a guitar, if it is played with another instrument it would not sound as effective as a guitar.
3. The string section, he was the first set a standard to give 4 (1. violin, 2. Viola 3. cello 4 double bass) or more parts of string section. That is the reason his counter points are just wonders.
When you hear a string section next time, hear for 4 parts. check with Raja kaiya vecha.
4. Chord based construction. Not easy for indian music, most raja songs have chords set prior to the tune. The song movement depends on the chords.
5. Inverse chords, raja scores have many inverse chords, in a song, a C major chord would sound different than C major inverse, raja was one of the first few to bring it on a mass scale.
Need to observe.

arul, in the process we should not breed mediocrity --- do you say ARR is very low in std.
Do we support, deva, SARaj or Baradwaj for that matter. We dont care about them,
We only talk about MSV, IR and Arr.
BEcause these 3 have achived something which other failed, they have impressed the majority, they were/are on top at different period of time, one does not super seed another. They have thier own style, class. There it ends.
Finally, as of today, Arr is creative, he creates goods music than anyone else now.
As IR sidelined MSV, now Arr sidelines IR,
Lets us see if anyone could overtake him!...then we shall start with ARr v/s new comer.
