IR's new albums!

  Isnt it Praveen Mani who scored the music for the Srinivas album Paarvai? A friend tells me that he is pretty good. I havent listened to the album myself... maybe ill do that now.

  According to the Vikatan site,
  
  The Pentafour movie Starring Kamal is going to be directed by Priyadharshan. Priyadharshan himself says this in an interview.

  There's an interview with Singeetham Srinivasarao as well. But no mention of MD, but lyrics by VM.

  Hi IR and ARR fans,
  After reading the above link posted by Satish,
  I think, the politics in our TFM is having it own toll. It did its act against IR few years back and now i think, it's doing against ARR.
  IMHO, this is not a good sign.
  Though many can not accept ARR as a replacement for IR, he undeniably the best next to him.
  also, at some point of time(92-96), IR looked like lost interest/motivation/energy for film music and hence his music showed this.
  but after ARR's climb to the top spot, we could get a different kind of music. it may have its drawback,like lack of melody and so on, still, it was a different approach.
  I think, this has again stimulated the nerves in IR and he 's accepted the challenge of technology and younger generation expectation and the result is obvious. I think, Kadhalukku Mariaadhai/Kannukul Nilavu have some songs which are totally a different kind and IR's back to his mood.
  Now, when some other good composers are around, only then we can say 'x' is better than 'y'. if there is only one person in the field, then whatever he gives will become the only option.
  so, IMHO, tfm will gain if both ARR and IR give some good music in the same period.
  Just imagine, what would we be getting if these two combine together occasionally and give some very good music? will it happen? only time can answer.

  There is a song with same tune as Illaya nila song in in a hindi movie "Love story" (Kalyanji anandji). Can anyone let me know who is the original music composer for this melodious tune.

  I am delighted to get this news Sabesan. Infact KA have changed the stanza music a bit and IR's stanza tune comes in the beginning of the movie.

  Ekantha Velai from Paadum paravaigal is an exceptional song from the Maestro. It is one of my favorites and Raja just makes u feel the melody in this song.
  
  In Telugu , the movie is Anveshana.

  Bharathy!
  Another nice album by Raja...first time when I heard, `ninnai charaN' appealed..after 3,4 plays almost all the songs are feeling nice and aptly emoted...
  
  I expected `thani oruvanukku' to be an angry pronouncement (not realising it's part of the classic `Bharatha samudhAyam vAzhgavE') and initially got surprised at the happy mood...then realised Raja captured the correct emotion of Bharathy...after all it's a jubilant song!
  
  With due regards to Raja's efforts to sound different (from MPS' scores etc.), I would still rate this album a little bit too `light' and not heavy enough, say like SB... My personal rating: SB & Guru(M) are `great' while Bharathy is `good'. pala muRai kEttAlum alukkAdha type...
  
  `mayil poLa' is fresh and another proof of IR's proficiency, showcases with what ease he can score folk stuff, even today!
  
  I think the film's screened yesterday...any reviews as to the BGM, short songs etc?

  Srikanth..... sometime back i remember reading that u have said "no comments" on Barathy songs.... does that mean its not so good?? cause i heard it y'day and really liked it.... the quality of recording also seems to be good....

  Barathy songs are great except three songs Ninnai Saran, Vande madharam & Nirpadhuve which are greatest. Great! great work by maestro.

  Another thing to be noted in that article is how IR has praised the student saying that " he would become a big director like Bharathiraaja in the future". Surprised to read that. This in spite of the well known differences between IR and BR. IR never fails to recognize and acknowledge talent.
